Lavinia World #42 ~ Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

Hello everyone and welcome to challenge #42 at Lavinia Worldwhere the theme is always Anything Goes!

I saw several of these cards being made by some fun crafters and wanted to try my hand at one.  I'm not too sure it's what I was expecting, but it's certainly different :-)  This card is called a "Turn me Inside Out" card.  Let me show how it works ...

So this is the front of the card. I blended the sky using various shades of Distress Oxide inks in blue.  Next I stamped the trees using a variety of Memento and VersaFine Clair inks.

Then when you open the card ... there is Santa and his reindeer flying over the tree tops :-) Cute, right?  Now here is something I have to share ... you really do need stiff acetate.  Mine was not that sturdy and since the Santa stamp is a rather slim image, I added another piece of acetate behind the original and then covered it up by placing a moon behind Santa.

On the other side of the opened card, is where you stamp your sentiment and have plenty of space to write your own message.  I also cut a plain circle in white to adhere to the back of the moon, so you wouldn't see the double acetate.  Lastly I stamped and heat embossed a few snowflakes.

I think I will give it another try, but rectify a few things such as use a different image, use sturdier acetate and probably choose a different size as a card base. But all in all, I'm happy with the end result of this card.

Now here is the list of crafty ingredients, each linked to the Lavinia World store, for your convenience.

Thank you so much for coming by.   Now, it's your turn to make a project and come play along with us.  Although our theme is always Anything Goes, you do have to use physical stamps, either rubber or clear.

Lavinia Word #33 ~ Spinner & Guinevere

Hello everyone and welcome to challenge #33 at Lavinia World,
where the theme is always Anything Goes!

I had so much fun putting this card together. I love Spinner, the dolphin. He has such attitude. You can see the playfulness in his expression. And, yes I did give him a googly eye because I dropped a marker right on his eye. And as you all know, there are no mistakes in crafting, only creative opportunities, right? πŸ˜€

So here is Spinner asking Guinevere to go play with him, but she is taking a little "me time", so he'll have to wait till a little later. Do you see how beautifully the new line of Fairy Hugs stamps work with the Lavinia stamps? So easy to build scenes and tell stories πŸ’– I used VersaFine  Clair inks to stamp spinner and all the underwater foliage. I stamped Guinevere using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, because I wanted to colour the rock  with copic markers.  I also used Fairy Hugs glitter on her body and on the seaweed floating in the ocean. I have listed all the supplies below.

On the inside I used the same beautiful Aqua Watercolor Strokes paper. I added the birthday greeting and seaweed to finish it off.

I love the translucent Fairy Hugs glitter.  Here is a close up.  You can see the Orchid colour beautifully, with the iridescent sparkle, but you can still see the mermaid scales of her body.  It's too cool to be able to glitterize (is that even a verb? πŸ˜€) an image without loosing its detail.

And here is a close up of the Ocean Fairy Hugs glitter.  This is not the translucent kind, so you get a solid covering of glitter.  Both types are wonderful to work with. They are super fine, iridescent and very containable which, as we all know, is very important πŸ˜€

Here is the list of all the supplies I used to make this card, each linked to the Lavinia World store for your convenience.

I hope you enjoyed my card as much as I enjoyed putting it all together. I love creating scenes,  especially if they're ocean kind🐬

Now, it's your turn to make a project and come play along with us.  Although our theme is always Anything Goes, you do have to use physical stamps, either rubber or clear.

 NO DIGI stamps allowed.

Christmas Snowglobe

Happy July 4th to all my American friends! I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend. Welcome to Lavinia World's  4th challenge.

It's the beginning of Christmas in July madness, crafting friends, so what a better way to kick it off than with a Christmas snow globe.  I love snow globes! There's just something magical about them, don't you think?
Well, Lavinia Stamps aren't all just about Fairies. There are some other beautiful designs that go beautifully with the different seasons, just like the one I used today, called Mary.

Isn't it a beautiful silhouette stamp of Mary, Jesus and Joseph?
I enjoy using my stamps with dies, sometimes they just work perfectly together, as is in this case. The snow globe is a Moonstone die from Hundydory.  To create the background, I used various Memento Inks.
Mary was stamped using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.
Mirror silver and gold card stock were used for the snow glove base, sentiment and other finishing touches.

Here is the list of the materials I used to create this card.
Each is linked to the Lavinia World store for your convenience.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope you enjoyed your visit and will make a project to come play along with us.  Our theme is always Anything Goes as long as you use stamps, either rubber or clear, but NO DIGI stamps allowed.
We prefer that your submissions use Lavinia stamps, but it's not a requirement.  However, if you do use Lavinia stamps in your project, your chances of winning are doubled.

The winner of the challenge will be able to proudly display our Lavinia World winner's badge on their blog, and receive a $15 gift certificate to the Lavinia World store.  Lavinia World offers the complete range of Lavinia stamps and papers.  Although Lavinia Stamps is from the UK, Lavinia World is a US based store that ships worldwide.

Christmas in June :-)

Hello and welcome to Lavinia World Stamps' 3rd challenge.

Yes, crafting friends, I started on my Christmas cards in June :-)  Since I love everything about Christmas, it's never too early for me to start on my Christmas cards.  As you know, I also love stitching on cards, so you can imagine how much I enjoyed making this card.

I used Versafine Clair Shady Lane to stamp the Mistletoe image from Lavinia Stamps, and added pearls for each berry.  Next I stitched the pattern, from Stitch & Do 92 kit,  in green, red and white, and accented it with the same pearls. Using Versafine Clair Nocturne, I stamped the Fairy Merry Christmas greeting, also a  Lavinia stamp.

On the inside of the card, I continued the theme by stamping the Mistletoe image several times and in several angles along two of the edges of the card.  Next I stamped the Spirit of Christmas sentiment and added
one of the Fairy Forages.  As the greeting suggests, there has to be a fairy on the card, right? πŸ˜„
Since I didn't want to add the extra bulk on the inside of the card, instead of using pearls for the berries on the mistletoe, I added pearl dots by using a Viva Decor Pearl pen.

Here is a quick recap of the stamps I used with links to the Lavinia World store, for your convenience.

Well, crafting friends, that is it from me for today. Thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope you enjoyed your visit and will make a project to come play along with us.  Our theme is always Anything Goes as long as you use stamps, either rubber or clear, but NO DIGI stamps allowed.

Aurora

Hello crafting friends. Welcome to challenge #2 at Lavinia World Stamps.

For my DT project today, I used the beautiful fairy called Aurora.  I thought that making an Aurora Borealis background would be perfect to showcase this beauty.  So here is my first try at the Northern Lights πŸ˜ƒ

Aurora is one of my favourite fairies.  Although you can't see from the pic, and believe me I tried different angles, I sprinkled her wings with Stampin Up Dazzling Diamonds.  Beautiful, delicate and magical!

Here is the list of Lavinia stamps I used to create this card.
Each is linked to the Lavinia World store for your convenience.

I used the same stamps to continue the theme onto the inside of my card.
I used a combination of Memento and Ranger Distress inks to make the Northern Lights and to sponge the night sky around them.   I used a white pencil to colour the Star Blossoms and then went over them with a clear Wink of Stella pen to add a little sparkle. This card measures 6.5" x 5" and fits perfectly in an A7 envelope, without requiring any additional postage.

Well, crafting friends, that is it from me for today. Thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope you enjoyed your visit and will make a project to come play along with us.  Our theme is always Anything Goes as long as you use stamps, either rubber or clear, but no digi stamps allowed.

Meet Sebastian, the Seahorse :-)

Welcome to Lavinia World and to our first challenge.

Challenge#1 ~ Anything Goes

Although this Fairy world is very new to me, I'm loving every minute of it and having loads of  fun experimenting with my inks, that have been sitting on the shelf, very neglected, for quite some time now.

Isn't Sebastian, the seahorse, very majestic?
Here is the list of Lavinia stamps I used to create this card.
Each is linked to the Lavinia World store for your convenience.

Deeper than the Ocean

The Sea Bubbles stamp was out of stock, so I took the back of a pencil and used it's little eraser to stamp my bubbles :-)  I think it did the job for now, what do you think?

I used the same stamps to add a little scene on the inside.
Other materials I used are:
Teal card stock - GinaK
Memento Inks - Teal Zeal, Sky Blue, Morocco
Versafine Clair Inks - Shady Lane, Purple Delight, Acorn, Warm Breeze, Morning Mist
Fishnet die - Marianne Designs
Clear Stella of Wink pen and Clear Gelly Roll pen to add a little sparkle and shine, as you can see from the pic below.

Now that I have shared my card with you, let me tell you a little about our Lavinia World challenges that begin today.

Exciting News!

Hello crafting friends.
I've been sitting on this news just waiting for the time to come to be able to share it with you, and all the time doing a happy dance :-)  I have joined the newly created Lavinia World design team.

Lavinia World is a US based online store that carries the full range of Lavinia stamps and papers from the UK, and although it is based in the US, it ships worldwide.  The Lavinia World Challenge Blog will host  challenges on alternate Thursdays.  The theme for these challenges will always be Anything Goes, but you must use either a rubber or clear stamped image to play along with us (digi imates are not allowed).  If you use a Lavinia stamp on our project, you will automatically be entered into the winner's drawing twice.
I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce the rest of the DT.  If you click on their name, you'll be directed to their personal blog.
