Crafty Gals Corner #280 ~ Anything Goes w/twist - Fall Foliage

Hello crafting friends and welcome to our monthly challenge

In just a couple of weeks or so, Fall officially begins, so with that in mind, here is the theme for our challenge this month.

~ Anything Goes w/optional twist - Fall Foliage ~

Sometimes, I gather bits and pieces that are laying around on my desk and put them together to make a card.  This is such a card.  The problem with this is that I have no clue where the stitching pattern came from.  I also don't remember from which cutting sheet, this fox layered image came from.  So I apologise in advance, but I don't have too many details to give you on this card.

On the inside, I stamped the greeting using the Thankful for You stamp set from Cardz TV.  I added a couple of little Fall leaves to both sides of the sentiment for a little interest.  I punched these out using a punch from Recollections.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  We would love to see you play along with us.   You have until noon, CST, on 13 October 2026, to link your project to

A Stitched Birthday Card

Hello everyone. I hadn't stitched a card in a while so looking thru my layered images I found this one that I thought would be perfect for my uncle.  Then it was just a matter of looking for a stitch pattern that I liked.

The brown variegated thread on this pic looks a lot more burgundy than brown, but on the card, it does look like various shades of brown which obviously matched better with the pic.  The different layers of the image, 4 in total, are adhered together with foam squares.

Since I'm mailing this card overseas, I kept the inside pretty simple.  I used the Happy B'day w/Shadow die set from Kat Scrappiness to make the greeting.

That's all for today folks.  I'll be back soon with another card to share with you.

Hugs,

Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round ~ I, J is for ...

Hello and welcome to this month's challenge at Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.
Our challenge this month is E, F is for ...

I is for ... Ice Skating, Igloo, Ivy
J is for ... Joy, Jerusalem, Jingle Bells

Once again I made two cards for this challenge.  Starting with
I is for Ice Skating.

The layered image for this card is from a cutting sheet from Yvonne Creations called A Gift for Christmas.  The stitch pattern is from the Stitch & Do Kit no. 143.

The three different layers are adhered to each other with 1mm foam squares.   This adds a little dimension but almost no bulk to the card.

This twisted easel card folds flat for mailing and fits into a 5.75" square envelope.

And ... J is for Jerusalem & Jesus

This gatefold card is a file from Dreaming Tree and was all cut using the Silhouette.

As you all know by now, my photographing skills are not the best, so forgive me for the glare.  The words are cut out of the same gold cardstock.

The starry background is a paper pattern from Silhouette. I thought it made a beautiful night sky for this beautiful manger scene.

I added an extra mat at the back and stamped the sentiment using a stamp from the the Festive Greetings stamp set by Creative Expressions.

This is a 7" x 5" card and fits, very snuggly, into a regular A9 envelope.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Now it's your turn to make a Christmas project,  and to come play along with us.  You have till the end of the month to link your project to our blog at Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

The Paper Shelter #605 ~ Holiday Time!

Hello crafting friends and welcome to this week's challenge

Team A - our challenge this week is
~ Holiday Time ~
(Either an official holiday or vacation activities)

Continuing with my Christmas in July theme for this month, I chose to make a Christmas card, using this sweet image called Cozy Together, to send to a kitty lover.

You  may remember that I used this digi set last month.  This time, though, I'm only using the digi out of the set.  Instead of using the background that comes with it, I stitched a frame for this sweet girl and her kitty. The stitch pattern is from the Stitch & Do Kit #186.

Here is a close up of this cutie.

I print and cut it out three times.  I then fussy cut the lantern and the kitty face, out of the third print.  I layered all the images together using foam squares. This adds beautiful dimension to the image, but not a lot of bulk because I use the 1mm thick foam squares.

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment using the Christmas Sayings stamp set from Creative Expressions.  The holly stamp is an oldie from Stampabilities.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Before I leave, I would like to invite you to come play along with us.  Remember that The Paper Shelter has fabulous prizes up for grabs. Check out the details below ...

I do hope you will come join the fun and share your projects with us.

Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round ~ It's a Mousy Family Christmas

Hello and welcome to July's Christmas challenge at

Our challenge this month is Anything Christmas/Holidays.

Here is our inspiration pic  for this month ...

It's been a while since I made a stitched card.  I love stitching on cards, I find it very relaxing, but it is obviously time consuming and time is something I've been short of lately.  But I made a little time and picked up one of my stitch kits and made this card.

This card is from the Stitch & Do kit no. 186.

Isn't this mouse family so sweet?  They look so cozy and relaxed, just sitting there together enjoying the warmth of the fire!   I personally think that all they need is hot cocoa and a Christmas movie on the telly :-)

On the inside, I used the Holidays Greeting Tree die from Cottage Cutz.

I added a sprinkling of stars to add a little sparkle to my card.
This is a 13 cm x 13 cm card and fits perfectly well into a 5.5" square envelope.

Well, this is it for my card for today. Now it's your turn to make a Christmas project, that falls within our challenge theme, and come play along with us.  You have till the end of the month to link your project to our blog at  Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

You all know by now how much I love Christmas, so you know that I will be celebrating Christmas in July all month long.  I hope you come back and visit.  It's just the right time to start working on your Christmas card stash!

The Paper Shelter #551 ~ This Beautiful Earth

Hello friends! Welcome back to our newest challenge at the The Paper Shelter.

Team A - our challenge this week is This Beautiful Earth!
This means you can make a project using anything that relates to Nature.

Using the gorgeous A Cheerful Hummingbird digi, I created this card for a very special lady's birthday :-)

The card base is from a card kit made by the Hobby Shop in Holland, that Santa was very kind to bring for me. I used my own colours to stitch the pattern as I wanted it to match the Cheerful Hummingbird image.

I used the Silhouette to cut out the image a couple of times.  Then fussy cut the hummingbird and used the second one to layer it using foam squares. This adds beautiful dimension without adding too much bulk.

Here is a close up of this gorgeous digi, and if you close one eye and squint with the other really hard, you can see the layered effect. 😀

Thought I would also share a close up of the stitched pattern.  Altogether, it did not take me very long to put this card together.  The stitching is minimal and the card base and all the mats were already pre-cut.  I like the unusual shape and how it shows most of the digi even when closed.  It fits perfectly in a 5.75" x 5.75" square envelope for mailing.

The Paper Shelter offers a $30 gift certifcate for one lucky winner.  In order to get this prize, you must use a product from The Paper Shelter.  However, if you have not used a product from The Paper Shelter, you still stand a chance of winning 3 digis of your choice.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope my card inspired you to get crafty and come play along with us.  You can find our challenge blog HERE.
