Fright Night Drive

Hello crafting friends.  It's mid October already and I've heard that ...

When witches go riding,

and black cats are seen,

the moon laughs and whispers

'Tis near Halloween! 

So with that in mind and the fact that I still need another couple of cards, here is one I made today!  This witch is definitely riding ... just not on her broom! 👻

I recently got these cutest dies from Spellbinders, and after following a tutorial on YouTube  for this type of card fold, by Sam Calcott, I came up with this card 👻

I had already cut all the bits and pieces, so I crafted along with Sam.  I must admit it was fun!

My personal message on this card is going to be short, sweet and to the point, since I didn't leave much room for it. But since it is going to be hand delivered, I can always add to it with a hug 👻

This card folds flat for mailing, but due to the springy mechanism on the inside, once you pull it out of the envelope it pops open.

As you see it fits perfectly on a 6" x 6" envelope.  However, it is more than 1/4" thick, so it will require additional postage.  That and the fact that here, in the US, square cards are not that common, so these larger square cards need to be hand stamped, which also means a few more cents over the standard postage fee.  It came out so cute though, that I think it's totally worth it.  I can already see many possibilities for Christmas 😀

KS ~ Easter Card - Mint

 Hello crafting friends. As promised I have another Easter card, made with the Rainbow Egg die from Kat Scrappiness, to share with you today. 

For this card, I used the same pearlescent cardstock by Sara Davis. To make it a little different, I embossed the front of the card using the Dry Stonewall embossing folder from Crafter's Companion. I added the topper, a few pearls and a couple of butterflies.  If you would like to see the other card I made using almost the same supplies, please click HERE.

On the inside I took a strip of the mint pearlescent cardstock. embossed it using the same embossing folder and added a couple of butterflies.  The sentiment is from the Easter Bunnies stamp set by Art Impression Stamps.

KS ~ Easter Card - Dusty Rose

Hello crafting friends. I have an Easter card to share with you today.

When I saw this Rainbow Egg die set from Kat Scrappiness, I knew that I would have to have it 😀  I not only love its design, but also its size.  I tend to make 5.5" x 5.5" or 6.5" x 5" cards.  There are some gorgeous dies for Easter out there, but I find that a lot of them are geared towards the mostly used A2 size card, here in the US.  As you can see this beautiful Easter egg fits perfectly in this 5.5" square card.

I cut it out of pearlescent white and pearlescent dusty rose cardstocks, by Sara Davies. Next I did a little paper piecing as I adhered the egg to the backing cardstock.  Although, beautiful on its own, I added an Easter egg topper from Hearty Crafts called Easter Chicks.  As you know by now, I don't do CAS cards very well, and all that white space was just screaming at me for some pearls 😀, which I dotted here and there in little clusters.  I must admit that I love the way this card came out.  So much so, that I'm busy with a second one and will share it with you tomorrow.

On the inside, I kept it fairly simple.  I was going to cut another egg, mat it and stamp the sentiment on it, but unfortunately, I ran out of the dusty pink pearlescent cardstock.  That's what happens when you use scraps 😀 So I took one of the little strips that was left and using a StampinUp! punch, I cut a decorative border.  The sentiment and butterfly are from the Easter Bunnies stamp set from Art Impressions.

... Halloween is Coming Soon!

Well, not really, there are still about 5 months to go😁

But I wanted to play along with the Two Old Bats Challenge again, so I decided to add another Halloween card to my stash.

As you can see, it's not a very complicated or fru-fru card, but I thought it came out cute. It's always a problem when mailing cards overseas. Can't add any bulk or not only will they cost a small fortune in postage, but they seem to get damaged along the way, or they don't get there at all.  I send my mom a card for Mother's Day on the 3rd of April, thinking that it was going to arrive very early ... it's the 11th of May and it still has not arrived.  At this point, I'm not even sure it's going to reach it's destination.  And, as with everything that goes wrong these days, it's all blamed on Covid.  

On the inside, I inked the edges, and I added a few spider webs to frame it.  Lastly, I stamped the "Spooky" and the bats.  All these stamps and sentiments are from the Fright Night stamp set from Art Impressions.

April Challenge at CCAYR ~ Snow Buddies

Hello crafting friends, and welcome to April's challenge at
 Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round

Our challenge this month is Anything Goes with the option of Snow Buddies!

For this card, I'm using a new Holiday Flip Card set that Santa got me for Christmas.

It was a special edition produced by Art Impressions and sold exclusively by Simon Says Stamps.  Does Santa know where to shop or what? 😀

It comes with a snowman stamp set and a penguin stamp set.  Each have their own matching dies.  For this project, I used the Snow Buddies which is just perfect for our current challenge.

When you flip the card, you see the second greeting and the back of the snowmen.

I used a couple of stamps from Marianne Designs to make the Winterland background.

On this pic, you can see all the shimmer I added to the snowflakes, the snowmen, the snow and the fur trimming on their hats.  It looks so much better in person. I could not capture all the beautiful shine on this card.   I think it came out very merry and festive, don't you?

March Challenge at CCAYR ~ Gingerbread

Hello crafting friends, and welcome to March's challenge at
 Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round

Our challenge this month is Gingerbread!

Santa was very sweet this year and brought me a bunch of crafty goodies. One of them was a very cute stamp and die set from Art Impressions called Gingerbread Cubbies.

Isn't it super cute and fun? It cuts open doors and windows so you can place your gingerbread lil people where ever you like :-)

But wait ... there is more!!!  When you open the door, you find a message 😀

I used some of the elements to complete the inside of the card. The stamped greeting is from the Gingerbread Christmas stamp set by CardzTV.  All elements were stamped on X-Press It card stock and coloured with Copic Markers.  I used a wavy crimper for the snowbank.

I went over all the snow and candy with a Clear Wink of Stella pen to add a little shimmer.
