Crafty Gals Corner #279 ~ Anything Goes w/twist - Summer Vibes

Hello crafting friends and welcome to our monthly challenge
at Crafty Gals Corner! I hope you're all enjoying the end of your Summer!

The theme for our challenge this month is

~ Anything Goes w/optional twist - Summer Vibes ~

It was my daughter's birthday last week and since she loves everything to do with the sea, I created this easel card for her.

When closed for mailing, this card measures 5.5" x 5.5".  There is a little bulk to it with the sea shells but since I hand delivered it, it was not a problem.  If I had planned on mailing it, I would have used sea shell dies instead of using the real small shells.

These are the crafty supplies I used to make this card:
Marianne Design - Sea Shells Stitching Border
DMC Embroidery Floss - various colours used (3 strands)
Cottage Cutz - Sand Dollar
Memory Box - Seahorses
Sue Wilson - Aquatic Plants
Joy! Crafts - Bille's Coral
Cardz TV - Mini Messages

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  We would love to see you play along with us.   You have until noon, CST, on 8 September 2026, to link your project to

Unicorn Birthday

Hello crafting friends. Today I'm sharing the birthday card I made for my granddaughter who turned 12 yesterday.

The card base was cut using the Swing Fold Circle Card die from Marianne Designs.
I used pink cardstock from Bazzill and Silver cardstock from Hunkydory.

The Unicorn layered image is from A Touch of Magic Decoupage Topper set from Hunkydory.  The background paper is from the Touch of Magic Brilliant Backgrounds paper pad, also from Hunkydory.

On the back I used a stamp from the Good Times stamp set from CardzTV stamps. I adhered the stamped layer to another silver mat and added a little left over flower for a little added interest.

It looks so much better in person.  Not only was it very difficult to photograph with all the shine from the silver cardstock, but I did it at night with lights that are not photography friendly.  But I think in the end you get the idea of what the card looked liked.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope to see you soon with another crafty project.

Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round ~ Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Hello and welcome to this month's Christmas challenge at
 Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

Our inspiration song for December's challenge is
𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅯 Santa Claus is Coming to Town 𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅯
This means that you can use any verse, phrase or word in the song to create your Christmas project.  Here are the lyrics of this song for your inspiration

~ Santa Claus is Coming to Town ~
You better watch out,
You better not cry,
Better not pout,
I'm telling you why:
Santa Claus is comin' to town.
He's making a list
And checking it twice,
Gonna find out
Who's naughty and nice.
Santa Claus is comin' to town.
He sees you when you're sleepin',
He knows when you're awake,
he knows if you've been bad or good,
So be good for goodness sake.
You better watch out,
You better not cry,
Better not pout,
I'm telling you why:
Santa Claus is comin' to town.

I'm making a few more advent cards and thought this one would be perfect for this challenge.

I used the Advent Calendar die from Hunkydory.  The image is from the Advent Calendar Paper Pack.  These are awesome as they include the card fronts, the window reveal backing papers, and matching card inserts. Each paper pack has enough papers to make 12 cards.

Here is a close up.  It's super cute.  A little Advent Calendar in the form of a Christmas card 😊  Using the window reveal sheet behind each card front, makes it so that you can open a little window each day to display a fun and festive image.  I didn't want to open these little windows, but if you want to take a look at another card I made, you can follow this link.  There you will be able to see some of the cute images behind each little window.  Each backing sheet matches the advent card front.

I made this card to be an easel card.  On the matching insert sheet, I stamped a sentiment using a stamp from the Christmas Sayings stamp set from Creative Expressions.  The little stopper for the easel element was cut using punches from StampinUp and the little Merry Christmas greeting is a stamp from the Tiny Tidings stamp set from Cardz TV.

Each image paper is 6" x 6".  I trimmed them down to 5.5" x 5.5" as I wanted a small  gold border around it.  I then adhered it all to a 6" x 6" red card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Now it's your turn to make a Christmas project,  and come play along with us.  You have till the end of the month to link your project to our blog at  Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!
Safe travels to all who will be on the road, rail, air or water!

Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round ~ Away in a Manger

Hello and welcome to this month's Christmas challenge at
 Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

Our inspiration song for March's challenge is 𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅯 Away in a Manger 𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅯.  That means that you can use any verse, phrase or word in the song to create your Christmas project.  Here are the lyrics of this song to inspire you ...

~ Away in a Manger ~
Away in a manger
No crib for a bed
The little Lord Jesus
Lay down His sweet head
The stars in the sky
Look down where He lay
The little Lord Jesus
Asleep on the hay
The cattle are lowing
The poor baby wakes
But little Lord Jesus
No crying He makes
I love Thee, Lord Jesus
Look down from the sky
And stay by my side
'Til morning is nigh
Be near me, Lord Jesus
I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever
And love me I pray
Bless all the dear children
In Thy tender care
And take us to heaven
To live with Thee there
Take us to heaven
To live with Thee there.

Santa gave me these dies for Christmas and I hadn't had a chance to use them, so when I saw this challenge, I knew exactly what I was going to do 😀

List of goodies used to make this card:
Spellbinders (Simon Hurley) - Simon's Snow Globe die set
Spellbinders (Simon Hurley) - Nativity Scene die set
Cardz TV - Glad Tidings stamp set

Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round ~ Jingle Bells

Hello and welcome to this month's Christmas challenge at
 Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

Our inspiration song for February's challenge is 𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅯 Jingle Bells 𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅯.  That means that you can use any verse, phrase or word in the song to create your Christmas project.  Here are the lyrics of this song to inspire you ...

~ Jingle Bells ~
 Dashing through the snow
In a one-horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go
Laughing all the way
Bells on bobtails ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight
[Chorus]
Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh, hey
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh
A day or two ago
I thought I'd take a ride
And soon, Miss Fanny Bright
Was seated by my side
The horse was lean and lank
Misfortune seemed his lot
He got into a drifted bank
And then we got upsot.

I went with the Jingle Bells for my card.

Materials used to make this card:
Hunkydory Foiled Pattern Stepper Cards - Card base
Cottage Cutz - Christmas Bells
Cardz TV Stamps - Naughty or Nice - Greeting

For the embellishment I used
 Twigs - Marianne Design

I used copic markers to colour the images and added a few accents with gel pens.

Full opened card measures 8" x 5.5".

I added a gold and white mat to the back so that I had a place to stamp my greeting and write a small personal message.   I used the Tiny Tidings stamp set from Cardz TV to stamp the greeting.

With Halloween just around the corner, I thought I'd work on my stash as I still need a few more cards.  I used this Adorable Halloween Witch digi from The Paper Shelter to create my double diamond card.

The card base is a file from Silhouette.  The pattern paper is called Hats, from the Bootiful Collection by Julie Nutting .  The cardstocks used are from The Paper Studio.

I printed the image on photo paper and then cut it out twice.  I adhered the two layers to each other using pop dots to add a little dimension.

Here is a close up of this cutie!  I used the pre-coloured image from this digi set.

I made a mat for the back to write my message.  The greeting is from the Spooky Sayings stamp set by Cardz TV.  I print and cut a few more candies and added them to the bottom of this mat for a little extra interest.

When folded, this card measures 5.25" square and fits perfectly into a 5.75" square envelope.

And that was that.  Another Halloween card made, this one I think is going to go to my little granddaughter :-)  Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I would love to you see you play along with us.  You have until noon, CST, on 12 November 2024, to link your project to our challenge.
