Welcome Back to Texas :)

I'm back!!! I'm so excited to have had the time to make a card and to be posting again.  I still have a bunch of things that I need to get through but I do see the light at the end of the tunnel.  Hoping it's not a train coming in the opposite direction hehehe
My daughter has just recently moved back to Texas and as all you mommies out there know, it is very exciting to have your children close by.  I made this card for her to go with a little welcome back gift.  I printed the Texas map outline off the internet, then used Tim Holtz distress inks to shade in the flag of Texas.  The little Texan girl is Gilli CowGirl from Anary Design. I used a combination of Bic markers, and pencils and gamsol to colour her in.  Probably a major faux pas in the world of colouring but it works for me :)  I then cut her out and used pop dots to make her stand out and add dimension to the card.  The papers are all from my scraps drawer and the little rhinestones are from my stash.  I carried the theme onto the inside of the card by using the stars and the same shades to colour them.  I found the sentiment verse online and thought it very appropriate. I think it came out real cute and my daughter loved it.
What do you think?  I would love to hear from you.

Hugs,
Lena
