Fairy Stamper ~ Sunrise Lake

  Hello friends and welcome to my Fairy Stamper Friday share!

As the weather gets warmer, my mind is always near the water somewhere, where I would like to be :-) With that in mind, here are a few fairies visiting her duckling friends over at Sunrise Lake.

I began this card by inking in the far away shore. Next I inked in the sunrise and then the water.  Once all the inking was done, I stamped the ducks, cattails and fairies. Took a bit of time and added glitter to all the fairies'  wings.  Then I thought that the sky was a little to empty, so I added a few birds flying over the lake looking for a few fish for breakfast 😀

On the inside, I stamped the sentiment, inked the edges of the card and then stamped the cattails and the fairy.

I matted both the front and the inside onto black card stock and adhered them to a pink 5.5" x 5.5" card base.

Fairy Stamper ~ Easter Greetings

 Hello friends and welcome to my Fairy Stamper Friday share!

Easter is next weekend and I'm still a few cards short.  Fortunately, those that needed to be mailed overseas are already on their way, so now to focus on the ones for local family members.

I began by making a mask of an Easter egg and placed it more or less in the center of the smooth cardstock panel. This egg came out a little wonky, but that is what's special about being handmade, right?  That's my story, and I'm sticking to it! 😀

Next I stamped the bunnies, then the grass and then inked the sky.  I wasn't too happy with the way the grass came out so drew in a few tufts here and there to complete the scene. And now for confession time.  If you're a crafter, I'm sure you'll understand ... hubby came in asking me for a sharpie.  Wanting to see that it was one of the ones that worked, (yes, I need to go thru and throw out the ones that don't) I took the cap off and dropped the dang thing right on my card.  Not having time to start over, I decided to hide the black smudge with some die cut Easter eggs.  Since I often use stamps and dies on my projects, I think it worked out okay.

I really struggle with CAS cards, all that white just gets to me and begs to be filled in with something 😀 So I stamped the greeting at the top and added a few more Easter eggs, as well as a lil carrot, at the bottom.  To complete my scene,  I added the lil butterflies.  See, I told you, I just can't leave well enough alone! 😀

I did on the inside though - just stamped the sentiment and the grass and then added a few die cuts of Easter eggs and another carrot.   Of course, the only reason there is so much white is because I need space to write my message 😀

Fairy Stamper ~ Easter Egg Fairy Branch

 Hello friends and welcome to my Fairy Stamper Friday share!

Now I know that Easter Eggs are not normally found on tree branches, but in Fairy Land ... well, anything can happen, and look how much fun those bunnies are having trying to get to the Easter Eggs.  They already got two down, only five more to go!😀

I started by using an die to cut out this egg.  Next I adhered the inside of the egg to my glass craft mat and did the background inking of the sky and the sky.  Next I stamped and masked the Bunnies, and inked the grassy meadow.  I stamped the Dragon Fruit Branch leaving out the dragon fruit parts.  I then stamped several Easter Eggs from the Spring Hares stamp set, coloured them and cut them out.  The it was just a matter of colouring the leaves and adhering the Easter Eggs to the branch and a couple on the grass.  I didn't really like all the green space at the bottom of the egg, so using two different shades of green I stamped a little Spring Meadow grass.

I embossed the background but it looked a little too busy for my taste, so I die cut the egg again, out of the same blue cardstock, and did a bit of paper piecing so that all the pieces of the egg were not embossed.

Lastly I die cut a few flowers and put them around the egg with little pearls as their centers.

On the inside, I inked the sky, stamped a little more of the grass and placed a couple of eggs, and a carrot for good measure.  After all, you can't have bunnies and no carrots, right? 😀 Lastly I stamped the sentiment and called it done.

Fairy Stamper ~ Bunny's Easter Wreath

 Hello friends and welcome to my Fairy Stamper Friday share!

Did you all catch the International Stamps sales event last weekend? I know that some of you contacted me about wanting to purchase the Easter Wreath.  I hope you were able to place your order.  I have another Easter Wreath project to share with you.

This time I used a couple of bunnies on the center of my wreath. Now for a little about my card ~ I started with a 5" x 5" piece of smooth cardstock and stamped the wreath in the centre.  Then I masked the wreath and stamped the bunnies.  Next I used copic markers to add colour to the wreath and gave each bunny a googly eye for fun. To finish it off, I inked the sides and added a little leafy swirl to each corner.  I also added a few butterflies for a little extra interest.

On the inside, I stamped the leafy swirls again on each corner, added the greeting, which is part of the wreath stamp, and a few butterflies. I matted both the front of the card and the inside on sky blue cardstock and adhered them to a 5.5" x 5.5" white card base.

Fairy Stamper ~ Tranquil Lake

 Hello friends and welcome to my Fairy Stamper Friday share!

Today I'm visiting some older stamps in my stash.  I'm not sure if you remember, but about a year ago, I made a Fairy Stamper mug in collaboration with my daughter. (See that post HERE).  I keep the mug in my hobby room with all the small tipped brushes that I used for ink blending.  A crafty friend, who lives overseas, loves the mug.  It's not really practical to send her the mug because it might break in transit, but mostly because of all the import duties now being charged overseas.  So I thought I would make a card, similar to the mug, and send it to her :-)  This is what I came up with ...

I have tried numerous ways to photograph this card and can't capture the beauty of Moana's wings.  In the pic, they come out looking rather raggity.  I think it has something to do with the fact that I printed the background on glossy photo paper and then very carefully, and using a MISTI, I stamped the images using VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink.  For her wings, I went over the little spaces with a silver glitter glue pen and then added pearl glitter.  It looks stunning in real life, but I guess you'll have to take my word for it :-)

On the inside, I printed the same background, also onto glossy photo paper and just stamped the greeting.

I already told you above how I did Moana's wings, so now let me tell you how I did the daisies on the canoe. It was very simple, really, I used a white Signo pen and went over each leaf. On the center of each daisy I added a bead of glue and sprinkled gold glitter over it.

I like the way it came out, and even though it is not the same as the mug, I hope that she will like it.

Fairy Stamper ~ Lorella's Easter Wreath

   Hello friends and welcome to my Fairy Stamper Friday share!

This week I have an Easter project to share with you.

You're probably thinking that I'm all over the place with my cardmaking, and you'd be right :-) We're in February and last week's project was Christmas and this week's it's Easter :-) 

You see, when I see a stamp or a die that I love, budget allowing, I will buy it and then I have to play with it.  Well, such was the case with this beautiful Easter Wreath stamp that I purchased during the previous International Stamps sales event.  There was another one just this last weekend.  Did you catch it?  The best way to know about these is to subscribe to the Fairy Stamper newsletter.

I also love how Fairy Hugs stamps play beautifully with stamps from other companies. Let me show you ...

Look how pretty Lorella looks sitting on the wreath while waiting for the Easter Bunny.

I stamped the Easter Egg Wreath using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then I used copic markers to colour them.  I stamped Lorella using VersaFine Onyx Black inkin order to get a darker crisper image. I then used glaze pens to add colour to her dress. To make her wings sparkly, I used Fairy Hugs Pink Glitter.

On the inside, I took the sentiment that comes in the center of the wreath and stamped that using the same VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I often cut my stamps apart and this was one of those occasions.  I could have just inked the eggs and not the middle, and then vice versa when I wanted to stamp the sentiment alone, but it's just so much easier to have the stamp into two pieces. It doesn't destroy the stamp in any way or form and makes life a lot easier when wanting to separate the stamp elements.  I stamped, coloured and fussy cut two of the eggs to add a little interest to the inside. I stamped the ends pieces of the Leafy Scrolls to ground the eggs.

Fairy Stamper ~ Star Gazing

Have you taken a look at the gorgeous new release from Fairy Hugs stamps? This really is one of my favourite releases. 

Here is the Fairy Couple, one of the new stamps, taking a little romantic time to gaze at the stars on Valentine's Day.

I began by using a piece of paper from the DCWV Stardust Paper stack. Next I selected all the different stamps I wanted to use and using the image sheet that comes with each stamp, I laid it all out. I find it helps to picture exactly where everything goes and whether any masking is necessary. I stamped everything using VersaFine Nocturne ink.  As a finishing touch I added Fairy Hugs glitter to their wings.

Fairy Stamper ~ New Year's Party

  Happy New Year crafting friends and welcome to my Fairy Stamper Friday Share.

This was such a fun card to design :-) I used a pre printed background paper and stamped all my elements. I placed them in such a way, that there was no masking required.

To continue the party theme on the inside, I computer printed the greeting and stamped the little Drummer Snowman again.

I used Glazed Pens to add colour to the house and the snowmen.  I used glitter on all of the fairies' wings and with my white Signo pen, I added the effect of snow to the house.  Lastly I stamped and heat embossed the fireworks.  You can see some of the dimension that all these different mediums added to the card.  Oops, I just realised that I forgot to put glitter on the wings of the fairy that is opening the door.  Need to go fix that :-)

Fairy Stamper ~ O Holy Night ...

... the stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth! 

  Merry Christmas crafting friends and welcome to my Fairy Stamper Friday Share.

It's Christmas eve, the most holiest of nights, so I thought this card would be appropriate.

I used several crafty supplies to put this card together, from various different companies, but most are available at the Fairy Stamper store.  I began by using a background plate to cut the snowflake pattern.  Next I created the Holy city background using a couple of stencils.  Then I stamped the Nativity and inked in the sky.  Lastly I stamped the little stars using Versamark ink and heat embossed them in white.  On the inside, I used the same background plate and inked in the sky.  I stamped and heat embossed the little white stars, and stamped the greeting.  Since it didn't turn out sharp enough over the blue distress ink, I re-stamped it using Versamark ink  and heat embossed using clear embossing powder. I was so lucky that my stamp was still in my Misti and I was able to re stamp it right over the original stamp. Whew!!!

Fairy Stamper ~ Cupholder Coasters

  Happy Friday crafting friends and welcome to my Fairy Stamper Friday Share.

  

I had a couple of cupholder coasters that I wanted to try to stamp on to put in my car, but boy was this a trial and error excercise!  I almost trashed this whole project but thought others might learn from my mistakes.

For starters, I used Distress Oxide inks on my background, which gave me great coverage but bled once I added a little shading with copic markers and smeared a little when I put the coat of Modge Podge over it.  Next time, I will try Memento or VersFfine Clair inks instead. The bleeding is clearly seen on the daisy on the blue coaster.

Next came the actual stamping of the images.  Well using a stamping tool would be a lot better.  My first image did not stamp solid on the pink coaster.  No problem, right? Just add a little black sharpie pen.  Well, as you can see, it came out shiny and now the image looks very grainy.  Again, lesson learnt - use the Misty next time.

 And lastly, if you're going to add glitter, then be prepared to add 2 or 3 coats,  or stronger adhesive because it kept falling off.  After the 3r coat, I allowed it to dry and put a coat of Modge Podge over it, to keep it all in place.

So you see this really was one of those learn as you go projects and I hope that by sharing it, you will give it a try but be more savvy than I was 😀

In the end, I will still use them in my card.  I actually have never used coasters in the cupholders and don't know how well they work but I I'll give it try.
