You're Fangtastic!

Hello everyone. This is my last card for 2022. Whew! It has been fun though   👻

I made this wiper card for my little granddaughter. Halloween and all the spookies are not her favourite time of the year, so I thought I would make this batty card and keep things on the cute side for her.  I think she'll enjoy the little bat that peeks out when she pulls the card open 👻

And, just like the card I made for my grandson, this one also glows in the dark.  I put the glow paste on the little stars. I used a black glaze pen for the eyes of the bats and the spiders, and crystal accents on the little pumpkin buckets.  So sorry for this awful pic, but I think you can see the effect of the stars.  I really do need some photography lessons.  I'm okay with the point and shoot, but anything more is beyond my capability!

Fairy Stamper ~ Snow Globe Gift Tags

  Hello friends and welcome back to my Fairy Stamper Friday share!

Before I share my project with you today, I would like to remind you that we have 22  gorgeous Flower Fairies stamp sets and 5 new sentiment stamps that debuted on the Create and Craft show on Monday! These beautiful Flower Fairy stamps are available at the Fairy Stamper store.  You can purchase them individually or as a "must have it all" set at a discounted price. They are all gorgeous and I can't wait for mine to arrive.

In the meantime, I will share my next Christmas in July project.  Because there is such an awesome variety of stamps and dies at the Fairy Stamper store, in addition to all the gorgeous fairy folk, I was able to create these two tags using Christmas stamps and matching dies.

I've only made 2 of these shaker tags so far, but I'm planning on making another 8, one for each member of our family expected to be here in the US for Christmas.  Once those are done, I will share them with you.

For these I chose the cardstock I was going to use and cut out all the elements from the Snow Globe Gift Tag die set.  In order to turn this into a shaker, I cut out the snow globe 8 times.  I prefer to adhere multiple layers together  than using foam tape when making snow globes. I feel that they are a lot more sturdy and when looking at the sides, it has a cleaner finish.  Next I stamped all the tiny images, copic coloured them, and cut them out using their corresponding dies. Once I had all my bits and pieces I assembled each tag. I adhered 6 of the snow globe cutout layers to the back panel.  Next came the acetate layer and then the final front layer.  In order for the "snow" to move freely inside the snow globe, I adhered the tiny gingerbread tots and Santa to the front of the acetate.

I kept the back very simple by just stamping the "to" and "from" on it.

Here is a close up of the Santa tag. The little tree is on the inside but Santa has been adhered to the acetate on the front.

I used Twinklets Diamond Dust for my snow inside the shaker, since they are pretty small.

And here are the gingerbread tots.  The little tree is adhered to the acetate on the inside and the lil cookies are adhered to the acetate on the outside of the snow globe.  This way it was easy to cover the glue dot on the tree that I used to adhere it to the acetate.

Here you can see the Diamond Dust laying in the background.

Looking back, I think that a little red gem on the center of each embossed snowflake will look very pretty.  Will have to remember that when I make the others, and to be honest I'll probably go back and add it to this one too :-)

Fairy Stamper - Fishy Anniversary

 Hello crafting friends and welcome back to another Fairy Stamper Friday share.

As much as we all love our fairies, I made a card today without a fairy in sight! Shocking right?

My daughter loves the ocean, so I thought this fishy Anniversary card would be great for her and her hubby, and yes, he does like the ocean too :-)

To make this 6" x 6" card, I began by stamping, die cutting and colouring a few fish, algae, and the little castle.

Next I stamped the vines onto blue vellum and adhered my stamped images to create a scene.  Now comes the fun part - I used a sandwich baggie and put a little blue hair gel in it.  I found a small container at Walmart that was just the right blue :-) I then used the fuse tool to seal a 5.75" x 5.75" square ensuring that the gel couldn't leak anywhere. Then it was just a matter of adhering the layers together and using a few die cuts as embellishments to finish off the card. 

Unfortunately, sometimes, when it's late at night (or extremely early in the morning as was with this card - about 2.30 am) I messed up.  You see that larger area in the centre between the two clumps of seaweed? Well that was intentional so that I could stamp a seahorse in there.  But as you can see, I sealed the whole thing and forgot the sweet seahorse.  I've linked it below anyways, in case you want to make something like without forgetting to use it :-)

Dies R Us #165 ~ It's a "Magical" Collaboration!!!

Challenge #165 ~ "A Magical Day!"

This is because we're doing something a little different today! We're partnering up with the Double Trouble Challenge Blog and having a joint challenge collaboration.  It's fun and easy and you have a chance to win prizes both here, on the DRU Challenge, as well as on the Double Trouble Challenge!

Now to share the card I made, for my DT project, for this challenge.

A made a gnome scene, and I made this with someone very special in mind, who lives in The Netherlands which is the land of the "Kabouters"  😀 

This was such a fun and easy card to put together. Quite time consuming, but I enjoyed every minute.  My card measures 9" x 4" and will fit into a regular A10 (business size) envelope.

I began by stamping all the images I wanted, plus with a few to spare.  Then I die cut them all, and coloured them using copic markers. Next it was just a matter of planning the scene, adhering some of the images straight to the card and using foam dots on others to add a little dimension.  Lastly, I added a little Wink of Stella pen and Glassy Accents here and there to add a little something magical.

This card will hopefully satisfy Thing 1, Thing 2 and Thing 3  😀

Dies R Us #164 ~ With Sympathy

  Hello everyone, and welcome to our newest challenge at Dies R Us.

Challenge #164 ~ Anything Goes!

Every now and then we need one of these cards. Definitely not my favourite to make but I hope it will let this family know that we are thinking about them as they mourn the passing of his mom.  I got the opportunity to meet this lovely lady, when she was visiting from Portugal,  and we always remembered her fondly as I use a recipe she shared with me - Chocolate Mousse.  We'll definitely hold on to these fond memories. 

I used all the dies that come in the Lavender Square set and cut them all out of the purple cardstock. I cut the lavender shrub out of green cardstock as well so that I could paper piece it with the two different colours. Before arranging all the dies on my card, I embossed the background with a Swiss dot embossing folder, but only about half an inch on all four sides.  I stamped the lavender on the inner square using Purple Delight ink from VersaFine Clair.  The sentiment was computer generated.  That was it.  Nothing complicated or fancy about this card, but I hope it is elegant and somber enough for the occasion.

Thanksgiving Greetings

Hello and welcome back crafting friends.
It's my turn today to share a project on the Dies R Us inspiration blog.
Here is the card I made for my DT project.

I love putting little pieces together to create a scene or a puzzle, etc.,

so putting this wreath together was a lot of fun 😀

I began by working on my shaped card. I used Anja's Butterfly from Marianne Designs.  Remember, friends, Dies R Us often have Special Order sales. If you love international dies or are just looking for some to complement the dies you already have, the best way to know about these amazing sales is to subscribe to the Dies R Us Newsletter. Using the base die, I traced it onto a piece of white card stock.  Then I scanned it and uploaded the image to my Silhouette.  I then duplicated, flipped, welded and offset until I had my shaped card base.

If you don't have an electronic cutting machine, don't worry.  You can just grab a piece of card stock that is about 5.5" by 11", score it in half and then position the base die just a tad off the fold.  When you run this through your die cutting machine, you'll have a shaped card.

 Next, I die cut all my other bits and pieces.  While the card stock was still in the die, I used Memento Desert Sand ink to highlight the embossed areas.

As you can see, I cut Frantic Stamper's Fall Icon Wreath several times, all in white. Then I used copic markers to colour it all in. 

Before gluing it all down, I always position  my cuts to see if I'm happy with it or if I need to add or remove something. In this case, I felt like it needed something else, and that's when the cute lil critters from the Lawn Fawn's Forest Feast stamps and dies set came into play😀 I stamped the raccoon right onto the card, and the squirrel and hedgehog onto a piece of scrap card stock. I also made a little mask for the hat that I used on the raccoon.  I then cut out the little guys and adhered everything together to create the look I was going for on my card.

To finish it off,  and bring it all together, I cut another wreath and two little pumpkins and adhered them to the inside. I stamped the greeting right in the center, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. And that was that, another Thanksgiving card done 👍

Triple Flip Christmas Card

Hello and welcome back crafting friends.

I'm on the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog today, sharing a Christmas card with you.

It's a Christmas Fairy Triple Flip card.  Now that's a mouthful :)  I love interactive cards and these are so much fun, AND they can be used for any occasion!

When flipped, you have messages on the other side of the rectangle panels :-)

It was also pretty quick to put together.  I used the Triple Flip die by Karen Burniston.  Here is a LINK to her easy to follow tutorial on YouTube.  After assembling the card, I used the Frosty Fairy Friends stamp and die set from Lawn Fawn to decorate the flipping panels.

I continued the Frosty Friends theme on the inside of the card by stamping a few more elements out of the same stamp set.

When I looked at my card again, I felt like I wanted to add a little more to it, so I grabbed the Fir Trees Border by Impression Obsession and cut it out twice.  After figuring out exactly where I wanted to place them, I adhered each layer using foam squares, and then trimmed the excess of the sides.

On the top portion of the card, I added another piece of the snow flurries paper and adhered a die cut made using the Santa's Sleigh and Reindeer die by Cheery Lynn.  I adhered it using mini foam squares.

I definitely like the extra decorations on it. What do you think?
