I would like to share a card I made to send to a friend who is enjoying the birth of her second grandson.

I used a few different Silhouette files to come up with exactly what I wanted.

I made a little tag pocket at the back of the card so that I can write my personal message.

That's it for today. Just a quick post to share a card :-)

I hope you liked it. I had a lot of fun putting this little bedroom scene together.

I even made a personalised Mickey Mouse frame to hang over the crib :-)

Welcome Baby Girl!

Hello crafting friends and welcome back.

 I'd like to share a card I made for the birth of my littlest cousin.

As you all know by now, I'm a big Disney fan, so when this little dress popped into my head, I just had to put it to paper :-) Because of the hanger and the fact that I resize it, it does not fit into a regular envelope, so I made one for it.  Since it was going to be hand delivered, it wasn't a problem.

Welcome Baby Boy!

Hello Dies R Us friends. I'm on the Dies R Us Inspiration blog today sharing an Explosion pop up card.

You might be wondering whether red, white and blue are the best colours for a baby card, and believe when I tell you that I had to think hard about it too. For me, pastels are always the colours I use when making baby cards, but this card went to a very special friend who is joining the "Grandma's" club pretty soon :-) Since she lives in Holland and I wanted to send something with a little American flair, I decided to go with the red, white and blue and frankly I think it turned out cute.  What do you all think?

I used Karen Burniston's Explosion Pop Up die to make this card. Once you've picked your papers, it's really easy to put together.  I've linked Karen's tutorial video for your convenience.   For the message mat, I used a pretty rectangle from Karen Burniston's  Tag Book Pop Up.

The word "Baby" was cut out twice using a die from Marianne Designs.  I cut it out  once in blue and once in white so that I could offset it to give it a little dimension.

The rope finishing border is also a die from Marianne Designs.

As I mentioned before, crafting friends, every so often, Dies R Us runs a big sale on international dies. It's during these special sales that you will find dies from companies such as Marianne Designs, Lea'bilities, and Joy Crafts among others. The best way to know about these fabulous sales is to subscribe to the Dies R Us Newsletter.  When you go to the store's home page,  scroll down to the bottom.  There you will find a box where you can enter your email address and be put on their mailing list.

I thought I would share a quick pic of the front of my card.  Unfortunately, while in the middle of making this card, my electric die cutting machine broke and had to be sent in for repairs. So as you can see, I had to resort to other crafting media - a little stitching, a little electronic die cutting and a few heart punches for good measure.  But this just goes to show how versatile dies really are.  They mix and match beautifully with other crafting media.  Dies R Us sell many gorgeous baby dies that you can use on the front of your card or even add a little more to the inside.  All you need to do is go to the Dies section of the store and enter baby in the search bar.  Here is a link for quick access.

Baby Boy Cards at Cardz TV

Happy Friday crafting friends!

As you may already know, a new bundle of joy graced our family last week. My little grandson was born on Tuesday.

Since my daughter has done everything for him in the Lion King theme, I decided to make this card for his birth.

I think that by now you realize that I'm addicted to stitched cards. I really enjoy this activity - it's just so relaxing. Mostly I sit in my hobby room, put some music on softly in background and stitch away.  But it's also something that I can take on the go.  I have a small tin where I put all the supplies I'm busy with and just pop it in my bag :-)  How I wish I knew how to do this when my kids were at school.  It would have made those countless hours of waiting in car lines, band practices, Taekwon-do, etc. a lot more pleasant :-)

Now to get back to this card ... card base is from Recollections - 5.5" x 5.5" in white.  Cardstocks are all from GinaK.  All the animals were royalty free images from Google.  Since I firmly believe that babies are a gift from God, I was so excited to have the Heavenly stamp set from Cardz TV.  Take a quick look at this set ...

Isn't it a wonderful set? Such sweet and precious sentiments that you can use both on the front of your cards and on the inside.  Of course, these can also be used on a variety of projects - the possibilities are endless.

I was commissioned by my son to make a card for his little nephew.  Since he bought him a teddy bear, I thought this next card was perfect.

For this card, I used the Silhouette cut file # 80431.  Cardstocks are all from GinaK.

To go with the whole teddy bear theme, there are no better stamps than those found on the  Cardz TV Beary Sweet stamp set.  Take a look ...

Anything Goes at Cardz TV ~ Challenge #1

Hello crafting friends. I'm back today to invite you to join our first challenge of this Fall term at Cardz TV.

Mary has 3 teams, the Cardz TV Anything Goes team, which I'm very happy to be a member of, the Gallery Designers who post a card everyday of the week for your inspiration, and the Sketch Design Team. These ladies make a card using one of Mary's fabulous sketches, which you can find when you go to Cardz TV blog and click on the Sketches tab.

With the Anything Goes Challenges, you can create anything you want any way you want it :-) It can be any project with any theme.

I made this card for a dear friend who's now a very proud granny for the very first time.

 

I had so much fun using all the different dies to make this card. The background square is Anja's square from Marianne Designs. The Blocks, Lion, Giraffe and Pacifier are all from Cottage Cutz. The Heart Banner is from La La Land.  This card base was made with the heavy weight cardstock from GinaK and measures 5.5" x 5.5". I typed a poem on the inside that I got from a card I received when my daughter was born 26 years. I just love it and include it in every "baby" card I make :-)

And speaking of the inside the card, do you see that fabulous sentiment?  It's from the Cardz TV Congratulations stamp set. It's one of my "go to" sets. There are so many different occasions and I just love the font of this set too.  Here is a peak:

Use 3 Colours at Cardz TV

Hello crafting friends and welcome back to another season with Cardz TV challenges.  Stay tuned, because Mary has some wonderful challenges coming up and some awesome new stamp sets that you can view and purchase here.

For my card, I used Pink, White and Black and made this cute baby card.

I used a Silhouette cut file, #57689. Cardstocks and papers are from Bazzill, Minnie Mouse from Cricut Cartridge - Mickey and Friends.  For the sentiment I used the Cardz TV stamp set called "Good Times".  You can purchase it from Mary's online store.  Here is a pic showing you all the different sayings that come in this stamp set.

HIMCR Challenge #187 ~ SSS

Hello bloggie friends. Happy Valentine's Day!

It's time for another challenge at Hiding in My Craft Room and to celebrate Valentine's Day, we are doing a blog hop with lots of candy to be won along the way :-)

And here is my card for this challenge.  I used an image called BabeMoon Lullaby from Little Miss Muffet Stamps. Coloured it in with copic markers. The card base is a file I bought from the Silhouette Store. All cardstocks are from Recollections.

On the inside, I used a stamp from the Cardz TV "Congratulations" set. I also made a little dummy {pacifier :-)}using a die from CottageCutz.

This being a blog hop and being Valentine's Day, there has to be blog candy for sure :-), but instead of telling you what it is, I'm going to leave it as a surprise.  I will post the winner and a pic of the blog candy in the evening of Friday, 20 February 2015.

HIMCR Challenge # 180 ~ Freestyle ~ Anything but Christmas!

Our challenge for you today at Hiding in My Craft Room is Freestyle! Woohoo! All that we ask is that you make a project relevant to anything but Christmas.

I made this card to send to a friend of mine that has recently become a Grandma to a very cute baby boy.

 

 

Since I used some of my scraps, I can't tell you where all the papers I used are from, but I can tell you that the sweet baby image is a stamp called Wee One by Whimsy Wee Stamps, and the nappy safety pin is a stamp by Crafter's Companion called Special Little Person.  I coloured them in using copic markers.

 

This is our last challenge for 2014, but don't be sad, because we have lots of fun challenges to share with you in 2015! :-)
