40th Anniversary Card

Hello everyone.  Today hubby and I celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary.  It's been 40 years of love, memories and adventures.  Yes, there have been some trials, but together we got thru them. 😀

Here is the card I made for him.

Using a card base from Hunkydory's Foiled Pattern Rocker Cards was a big plus in putting this card together.  I also like that this card base is close to ruby red in colour.  It's traditionally the colour for a 40th Anniversary.

Here you can see the foiled pattern better.  Isn't it pretty?  The bubbly glasses and most other decorative elements are all from a Spellbinders die set called A Special Toast.  The Number Pins are dies from Marianne Design, as are the tiny pearls.

The Happy Anniversary greeting was computer generated and cut using StampinUp punches. Cardstocks used are all from my scraps drawers.

Wedding Anniversary Card

 Hi all! I made this Wedding Anniversary card for my daughter and her hubby to celebrate their 15th Anniversary.

The decoupage image consists of 3 different layers, adhered to each other with 1mm foam squares to add a little bit of dimension but very little bulk.

The greeting was cut out using Cottage Cutz words dies.

The card was made using a Stitch & Do kit that I've had for years.  Unfortunately, I lost the lil piece of paper where I had written the kit number, so can't share it with you.

A Toast to Your Love

 Hi everyone and welcome back. To take a break from all the Easter projects, I have a wedding anniversary box card to share with you today.

Isn't it cute? Love the play on words 😀

I used a file from Silhouette but changed the wording to suit my card.

It even has the little side handle!

A view from the back.  I made this additional mat and adhered it to the back.  The greeting is computer generated. Although I used a large font, I still have plenty of space to write my personal message.

This card is 5.75" x 5.75" when folded flat for mailing so fits perfectly into a 6" x 6" envelope.

Anniversary Card

 Hi everyone.  I had made an Anniversary card for my daughter and son-in-law, (see post HERE) but when I finished this card, I liked it better considering she loves everything and anything tropical, just like her mommy 😀

 

The stitched pattern is from Hobbjournaal no. 207, designed by Chrissie. This was a stitch patterned kit that Santa gave me :-)  I'm afraid I can't remember where the tropical birds came from.  The greeting is a stamp from the Happy Days stamp set by Cardz TV, and was stamped using Archival Brilliance ink in Galaxy Gold.  

In order to finish off the card nicely, I stitched another flower on the inside.

The Paper Shelter #543 ~ Dots &/or Circles

 Hello friends! Welcome back to our newest challenge at the The Paper Shelter. 

Team A - our challenge this week is Dots &/or Circles.

This means you can make a project using dots, circles or both. 

I wanted to stitch a card for my daughter's wedding anniversary, and I wanted to use this sweet Dutch image, so I went looking thru my Stitch & Do kits to find a pattern that would work with the image and our challenge and I found this one.  It has 3 small circles on either side of the heart, and the heart pattern is perfect for the sweet image and for it being an anniversary card.

I printed the image on photo paper and used the Silhouette to cut it out three times.  I then fussy cut the one into several pieces and used those pieces to add a little dimension to the image by layering them and using foam squares in between each layer. Once I finished all the stitching, I matted it with silver mirror cardstock and blue cardstock.  Since I wanted a little something different, I made it into an easel card.

Here is a close up of the stitching which was done in Silver and Christmas Red embroidery floss on linen cardstock. Love this sweet couple. If you read my previous post from The Paper Shelter, (HERE) then you know how much I love these sweet Dutch images.  I figured that since my daughter is half Dutch, she would like this card. And in fact, I know she will because the one night she came over I was busy with this card and she said she loved it.  Of course I told her that it was the Valentine card I was making for dad.  Becoming a mom made an awesome "on the spot" liar! 😀  Other than that, I can't lie worth diddly because I get the giggles 😃

So this is what the card looks like when closed and ready to put into an envelope.

And this shows the card when it's opened completely.  I wanted the "stopper" to match the front of the card, so I stitched a little heart on either side of the sentiment.  This sentiment was stamped using VersaFine Onyx Black ink, and it is from a stamp from a set called Happy Days by Cardz TV.  And that completed my card.

Stitched Wedding Anniversary Card

 Hello crafting friends and welcome back.  I know that I've been MIA, but life happens sometimes, and it takes over our crafty time.  Very inconsiderate if you ask me!  More on this towards the bottom of this post.

Still, I stitched this card to give hubby as we celebrated our 37th Wedding Anniversary today.

It was a wonderful day spent with the kids and grandkids.

Hubby loved his card, so mission accomplished. I got the pattern from Pinterest. I used gold and silver mirri cardstock for the numbers and for the mats and layers. It's been a while since I stitched on a card. It was very enjoyable!

As to why  I've been MIA - it all started a couple of weeks ago when I took a tumble and hurt my knee, my shoulders and my ribs.  It really does take longer to  heal as you get older.  It hasn't helped that I've been in a Christmas decorating and house cleaning frenzy.  I have not allowed everything to rest and heal properly.  But I'm very excited that I have family arriving from overseas next week and I wanted everything done so I can spend all my time with them :-)  I'm almost there, so things will continue to heal and I will hopefully get back to the crafty world soon. 

To my American friends, I want to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving weekend. Wishing you all a wonderful time with your loved ones, and safe travels to all who are travelling.
