The Paper Shelter #579 ~ All Things New

Hello friends! Welcome to our first challenge of the year at the The Paper Shelter

Team A - our challenge this week is All Things New!

With this theme in mind, I created a card to celebrate the New Year!
Using the very sweet Happy Meow Year digi set and a card base from Silhouette, I created this center fold card.

Aren't these two so happy celebrating the New Year? This image always cracks me up 😀

I uploaded the image to Silhouette and got busy making it all fit the way I wanted.  Then I printed it onto photo paper.  I printed a few extra kitties so that I could create layers, adding a little dimension to the card.

Here is a close up of the layers I created.  I did the orange cat twice and the grey cat 3 times.

I kept the inside very simple. This is where I'll wright my personal message.  It was a pretty simple card to put together but I love the way it came out.  The gold mat really adds a festive vibe to the card.

Well, that is it for today dear friends.  But before I go, I'd love to invite you to come play along with us at The Paper Shelter.  There is a $30 gift certifcate for one lucky winner!  In order to get this prize, you must use a product from The Paper Shelter.  However, if you don't use a product from The Paper Shelter, you still stand a chance of winning 3 digis of your choice.

I hope you will come join the fun and share your projects with us.   You will find our challenge blog HERE.

I'd like to play along at

The Paper Shelter #537 ~ New Beginnings!

Hello friends. I'm so excited to share this news with you, I am now a designer for The Paper Shelter. I have created many projects over the years, using their beautiful digis, as they generously sponsor various teams I have been with, but to be a part of their DT is just a dream come true!  I am on Linda's team and will be sharing projects with you every two weeks, and perhaps some in between :-)

Our challenge this week is New Beginnings.
This could be New Year, new job, new baby, etc.

Since this is a New Year, I used the lovely Happy New Year digi to create my very first DT project.  This fairy called to me as she is having so much ringing in the new year 😀  By following a tutorial on youTube, by Sam Calcott, I made this tent swing card which allows my Fairy to swing from side to side. To show you this, I have included a little video clip towards the bottom of this post.

This Fairy is so full of glee as she wishes you and yours a Fantabulous New Year!
May it be filled with love, joy and good health! 😀

As you all know by now, I'd much rather use pre coloured images and that is exactly what I did.  The digi sets from The Paper Shelter come with coloured and non coloured images, as well as a beautiful coloured coordinating background.

A side view of the tent effect.  This allows the Fairy to swing freely without the card sliding open.

I cut a white mat and added a few more streamers and stars.  I adhered this to the back of the card.  This is  where I'll write my personal message.

As promised, here is the little video clip that shows the Fairy swinging to and fro!

I used the following supplies to complete my card:
Hunkydory - Sparkling Snowfall Paper
Marianne Design - Heart Balloon, Christmas Bells, Champagne Set, Pin Numbers
Cottage Cutz - Baby Sleeping on the Moon

The Paper Shelter offers a $30 gift certifcate for one lucky winner.  In order to get this prize, you must use a product from The Paper ShelterHowever, if you have not used a product from The Paper Shelter, you still stand a chance of winning 3 digis of your choice. So come on, come play along with us.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope to see you again next time.

I would like to play along at the following challenges:

Fairy Stamper ~ New Year's Party

Happy New Year crafting friends and welcome to my Fairy Stamper Friday Share.

You're invited to the New Year's Bash at Pinecone Manor.
What a wonderful way to ring in the New Year.
Come join us, one an all!

This was such a fun card to design :-) I used a pre printed background paper and stamped all my elements. I placed them in such a way, that there was no masking required.

To continue the party theme on the inside, I computer printed the greeting and stamped the little Drummer Snowman again.

I used Glazed Pens to add colour to the house and the snowmen.  I used glitter on all of the fairies' wings and with my white Signo pen, I added the effect of snow to the house.  Lastly I stamped and heat embossed the fireworks.  You can see some of the dimension that all these different mediums added to the card.  Oops, I just realised that I forgot to put glitter on the wings of the fairy that is opening the door.  Need to go fix that :-)

As always, I have the list of supplies I used linked to the Fairy Stamper store, for your convenience.

Fairy Hugs Stamps
Nellie's Choice Stamps
Fairy Hugs Papers
Fairy Hugs Glitter
Distress Oxide Inks
Hero Arts Inks
VersaFine Clair Inks

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I hope I have inspired you to create a project and to come join the fun. Our challenges go live on the first Thursday of each month on our Facebook group.   All you have to do is to create a project and upload the pic to our challenge album.  There is a $15.00 prize for one lucky crafter 😀

Happy New Year!
I hope that 2022 brings you all that makes you happy.

Favourite Team Colours Challenge at HIMCR

Hello crafting friends. I have another "Coogs" card for you today :-)

Our challenge this week at Hiding in My Craft Room is Favourite Team Colours!

Our wonderful sponsor this week is Pickled Potpourri Designs.
The prize is a $7 gift certificate to their store.

I made my card using one of their very sweet image sets called Seasonal Birdies. I thought these little gals were so cute that I decided to use all the images in the set :-)

Spring Birdie
 Summer Birdie
 Autumn Birdie
 Winter Birdie

I made a waterfall Happy New Year card.  I know that it's not the traditional black, gold and/or silver, but these are the team's colours and I thought that the red, white and blue would work well with these cuties and that it would all work well with the sentiment :-)  What do you all think?

You have till 2:00 am CST on Saturday, 12 September 2015, to link your project to our challenge #215 at Hiding in My Craft Room.  I can't wait to see the wonderful creations you will come up with to play along with us.

Till next time,

HIMCR Challenge # 181 ~ Use Pinks!

Happy New Year everyone.  Our first challenge of the year at HIMCR is to use Pink and then more Pink :-)

Our sponsor for this challenge is Laurie from Hiding in My Craft Room.  She will be giving away a prize to one lucky participant.

I made this card for my little granddaughter - this was her very first New Year celebration.  She woke up at midnight and celebrated with us :-)  She was all smiles and had fun grabbing for everything shiny :-) She is such a darling! :-) {Says the proud grandma :-)}

I used the Cricut Teddy Bear Parade cartridge to make this fairy.  The clock was a die cut that my SIL gave me last year and since she is en route back to Holland as this post is going live, I cannot ask her where she got it from.  But, I will and then I will come back and edit this information :-)
The shiny pink paper is from Recollections, the polka dot paper is from The Paper Studio. Corner die is from Die-namics and the lacy die is from CottageCutz.  Gems are from my stash.

I know that the paper inside of this card looks to be a different colour, but it is the same shiny darker pink paper I used on the front of the card.  For some reason, it photographed this way.  The scalloped circle is a die from Spellbinders and the corners were cut with the same die from Die-namics.  Sentiment was computer generated and hearts were punched out using a little heart punch from Michaels dollar bin :-)

So, now it's your turn to grab all your pink papers and make a project to ring in the New Year and join in our fun :-)  You have till Saturday, 10 January 2015, 2:00 am PST to link your project to the Hiding in My Craft Room blog.  We do ask that you make a new project; no back links please.

Thank you for stopping by my blog.
I wish you a very Happy Crafting Year!
