Fairy Stamper ~ I Otterly Adore You

Happy Friday crafting friends and welcome to my Fairy Stamper Friday Share.
I hope you all had many Blessings to be thankful for,  and that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration with family and friends.

Did you catch the International Stamps sale at Fairy Stamper last weekend? I always purchase more than my fair share during these sales 😀  If you didn't, no worries.  Fairy Stamper has these sales every so often so you can catch it next time.  The best way to know about these sales is to subscribe to their newsletter HERE.  (Scroll down to the very bottom of the page)

Hubby and I have been married for 36 years - we celebrated our anniversary a couple of days ago.
For this occasion, and using a few stamps purchased at one of the International Stamps sales events, I made this card for hubby.

I began by creating the background using the Burst Stencil (Tim Holtz) and the Waves Stencil (Stampendous).
Next I stamped and die cut the little otters and other tiny embellishments that come in the set. I used Memento ink for this because I find it is one of the few inks that works really well with copic markers.  Once all the bits and pieces were coloured, I arranged them on the card using foam dots on some to add a little dimension.  It looked a little bare, so I used a little seaweed  and a bit of coral to fill in the scene.

I used the same materials in the same way to create a little scene on the inside, leaving plenty of space to write my message. As a finishing touch, I added glassy accents to the heart and the shells.  For the otters' eyes, I used a black Glaze pen.

Here is the list of supplies I used. I have linked some to the Fairy Stamper store. Some will not show up in the store right now, because like I mentioned above, they were purchased during an International Stamp sales event.

Fairy Hugs Stamps - Ivy Seaweed
Heffy Doodle - Otter Side (Stamps & Dies) (International Stamp Sale)
Marianne Designs - Coral (International Stamp Sale)
Lea'bilities - Swan Family (dragonfly) (International Stamp Sale)
Memento Ink - Tuxedo Black (currently out of stock, but any dye ink will do)
VersaFine Clair Ink - Rain Forest, Warm Breeze

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I hope I have inspired you to create a project and to come join the fun. Our challenges go live every other Thursday on our Facebook group.   All you have to do is to create a project and upload the pic to our challenge album.  There is a $15.00 prize for one lucky crafter 😀

Till next time,
crafty hugs!

Wedding Anniversary Card

Happy Monday crafting friends! It's my turn again to share a card on the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog.  This time I'm sharing a card I made for my daughter and her hubby as they celebrate their 9th wedding anniversary.

Now for a quick pictorial ~ I began by cutting out my background die in red and the base die in white.
Using Memento London Fog ink, I sponged all the embossed areas. It's always better to do this while the card stock is still in the die.

Next I cut my leaves and my flowers.  I used Memento Bamboo Leaves ink to highlight the embossed areas. For these tiny areas, I always use a little make up applicator as I feel it works better in transferring the ink to card stock.

All that was left was to build the tulip bouquet.  I should have been smart and applied double sided adhesive to the card stock before die cutting the little tulips, but since I used my FineLine Applicator Bottle, it didn't take too long before they were all adhered and assembled.

On the inside, I used the largest circle from Anja's Circle by Marianne Designs to cut the red mat.
I used the circle that comes with Petra's Amazing Circle to cut the white mat where I will be writing my message.  I cut out another bunch of tulips for a little something extra.  Oh, yes, I almost forgot ... I stamped the greeting and cut out two little birds to hold it in place on the front of the card.

Here is a quick recap of the materials I used.

Remember that the Marianne Design dies are normally under Special Orders in the store.  Every so often, Dies R Us runs a big sale on international dies. During these times, you will find dies from companies such as Marianne Designs, Lea'bilities, and Joy Crafts among others. Happy Anniversary to my hubby :-)

Hi crafting friends. Hubby and I celebrated 33 years of marriage yesterday. It's been an fun and interesting ride, some ups, some downs but we rode it together and are stronger for it.

This is the card I made for hubby.  It didn't come out as masculine looking as I would have liked it to be, but hubby liked it so all is well that ends well :-)
The stitched pattern was from an anniversary stitching kit, embroidered in Christmas Red and Silver thread.  The rose is from the cutting sheet that came with the kit. It is made up of 3 layers with pop dots in between each layer.

The sentiment was computer generated.

Thanks for spending a little time with me today.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Anniversary Card

So glad you stopped by.
I have an anniversary card to share with you today.  I made it for my daughter and her hubby.

I had so much fun with this card. I love the pastel colours of the embroidery threads and how they come out to form the flourished patterns. The swans are beautiful and go with these colours perfectly.  When I got this kit, I knew right away where one of the cards was going :-)

I hope you enjoyed your visit today and will come back soon. I have a few more cards to share with you in the next few days.

Till then,
Happy Crafting!

Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary

Hello crafting friends. I'm on the Dies R Us Inspiration blog today sharing a card I made for my aunt and uncle who recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary.  Gold being the traditional colour, I kept my card simple by using just two colours, white and gold, with a few pearly accents just for good measure :-)

Here is a quick pictorial of how I put this card together using the following dies:

I began with a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" card base. I then folded the front in half in order to make it a Z-fold card
I cut a piece of gold shimmer cardstock 1/8" smaller and placed it on the inside of the card with a removable glue dot. This was to hold it steady while I positioned my die. In order for all the cuts to align perfectly, you have to ensure that the fold of the front of your card is perfectly aligned with the die underneath.

Once you have found the correct position, place a small piece of removable tape (I used washi tape) to hold your dies together while you send it through your die cutting maching.

Now all that is left to do is to align the left half of your heart with the score line on the front of your card.  Adhere it with a small piece of tape and cut it.  I added a piece of white and gold cardstock behind it so that  it would stand out more. When I was done, I felt that there was too much white on the left hand side of the card, so I cut a few flowers in gold and placed them on top of the white flowers.
Next I cut the Darla butterfly out of vellum and the Vivienne butterfly and wedding rings out of the gold cardstock.  Remember, that every so often, Dies R Us runs a big sale on international dies. During these times, you will find dies from companies such as Marianne Designs, Lea'bilities, Joy Crafts, etc. The best way to know about these fabulous sales is to subscribe to the Dies R Us Newsletter. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, you will be able to enter your email address and be put on their mailing list.
To finish it off I added a few pearls, gems and the numbers.

Anniversary Card for Hubby

Hello crafting friends.  Today, I would like to share the card I made for my hubby for our 32nd Anniversary.
I love the Art Deco die collection from Tattered Lace. I think I would have been happy living in those days of glammer and glitz :-)

I must admit that I'm very happy with how this card came out.

With this pic, I wanted to show you that I added a heart scroll to the middle fold of the card. To put one on every fold seemed a little too busy to me, and to leaved it all white ... well, it was ALL white and a little blah, so I opted to put a little something just in the middle. What do you all think?

Although you can put your message panel on the inside, I  put mine on the back instead.
I used the same art deco die and a little left over heart.
Now to share the details of how I put this card together:

These are the dies I used:

Start by cutting the base of your card. This is a large card, 8" x 6", so you'll need a 12" x 12" sheet of cardstock. Even though it's a large card, it fits into an A9 envelope which mails with regular postage.

I cut my background pieces out of  Bazzil cardstock and my fancy cuts out of  a sheet of the Making Memories Wedding Paper Pad.  I used my fine tip Zig glue pen to glue it all together. Next time though, I'm going to adhere the fancy paper to a self adhesive sheet before die cutting. It would have made life a lot easier :-) I edged all my fancy paper with a C5 copic marker.

So here is what the card base looks like once all the bits and pieces are adhered together and placed on it.
Isn't it pretty?

Next, I cut out my Grace and Charles. I cut them out twice so that I could do some colouring and some paper piecing.

Here is Grace all ready to be put on the card. I used the Rose Collection of the copic markers (R81, R83, R85) to colour her dress, wrapper, hat and shoe. I added a little bit of sparkle with a Wink of Stella clear pen and  some pearls to make it more glamorous. Next, I worked on Charles. I adhered foam tape to the back of each and placed them on the card.

I cut the hearts flourish in grey and in pink and paper piece the hearts in the opposite colour. Lastly I trimmed and adhered the flourishes to the card.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope I was able to inspire you to use your dies, create a project, and come play along at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog for your chance to win a gift voucher to the Dies R Us Store.  A new challenge begins on the first and fifteenth of every month.  Be sure to Follow Us on Facebook too.
