The Paper Shelter ~ Summer Break Challenge

Hello friends! Welcome to our 2024 Summer Break Challenge at the

We have lots of inspiration for you today as both Team A and Team B are participating in this challenge.

Our theme for this challenge is
~ Anything Goes ~

Although this is our Summer Break challenge, and I was very tempted to make a summery card, I really wanted to finish off this month with the Christmas in July theme.  So, using Grandma's Christmas Tales, I created this card.😀🤶

The card base was cut using a .cut file from Silhouette.  The background paper is from Graphic 45' called Bells and Bows.

I print and cut Grandma a couple of times and adhered the two cuts to each other with foam squares to add a little dimension.

The verse is from a 'Twas the Night Before Christmas story book.

I kept the front of the card pretty simple. The holly corners are a print and cut file from Silhouette.  I thought they went well with the background paper.

On the back, I created a mat to write my message and also added a holly corner.

When folded, this card measures 6.5" x 5" and fits perfectly into an A7 envelope.  Having said that, it turned out rather bulky, mostly because I used heavy weight cardstock for the card base. Since I plan on hand delivering this card, it's not a problem, but lesson learnt - use regular weight cardstock for this type of fold as there are many layers to it.

Our Summer Break Challenge runs for 4 weeks, so you'll have plenty of time to make a project and join in the fun.  Before I leave, I would like to invite you to come play along with us.  Remember that The Paper Shelter has fabulous prizes up for grabs. Check out the details below ...

I do hope you will come join the fun and share your projects with us.
You'll find our challenge blog HERE.

I will be back on the 28th of August with our challenge #607.  Until then take care, stay safe and enjoy your Summer.

Fairy Stamper ~ Sandy, the Seahorse!

Hello crafting friends, and welcome to my Fairy Stamper Friday share.

Seahorses are such strange and beautiful creatures, aren't they? If I had an salt water aquarium, I would definitely try to keep a few as  I find them very entertaining to watch.  My aquarium is fresh water, so only a few tropical fishies for me :-)

When my son asked me to make a Father's Day card for dad, I thought of Sandy
and this is what I came up with ...

It was a very simple card to make, but I think it came out cute. My son liked it and so did hubby :-)

I stamped Sandy using VersaFine Clair Twilight ink onto a piece of cream cardstock. Next I sponged a little Distress Oxide Tea Dye ink on the edges and distressed them a little.  The design paper is from Graphic 45's Ocean Blue Collection. I die cut a few ocean related elements and added them to the card, to add a little more interest and bring in a pop of colour.  And that was that - card done :-)

Thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope I have inspired you to create a project and come join the fun. Our challenges go live every other Thursday on our Facebook group.   All you have to do is to create a project and upload the pic to our challenge album.  There is a $15.00 prize for one lucky participant.

Till next time,
stay safe and well.
