The Paper Shelter #593 ~ Sweet Birthday Wishes

Hello crafting friends and welcome to this week's challenge

Team A - our challenge this week is
~ Yummy Delights ~

Using A Curious Cake digi & the A Curious Cake Paper Pack I created this card.
Doesn't this cake look yummy? I thought it just perfect for our challenge this week.

I love that the papers go so well together and with the cake colours. It makes it so easy to put together 😀  The card design is from Silhouette.

This pic shows how the card actually stands.  I added a few white hearts to go with the white greeting.  The Happy Birthday is from an unbranded die (gift from crafty friend 😀, thank you).  I cut it out 5 times and adhered all the layers together to give it dimension.

Here is a close up of this yummy cake.  I printed the cake onto photo paper for an extra crisp image.  I also cut it out five times to give it dimension.

I'm having a problem with my Silhouette.  My cuts on photo paper are slighter smaller than on regular cardstock.  I don't change any of the settings are sizing - just print it on photopaper and print it on cardstock.  I cut them both and the one is smaller than the other which makes it really hard to cut layers and adhere them together.  I'm having to print and cut the image 5 times (a waste in my opinion) in order to get it right.   I'm sure it's user error, but I can't seem to find any information on this problem.  If any of you lovely crafters knows what I'm doing wrong, I'd love it if you would leave your advice/instructions as a comment below.
Thanks bunches in advance!

This card is 5" x 7" which when folded flat, fits perfectly into an A7 envelope.

That's all for today folks.  I'd like to invite you to come play along with us.  Remember that The Paper Shelter offers a $30 gift certifcate to one lucky winner!  In order to get this prize, you must use a product from The Paper Shelter.  However, if you don't use a product from The Paper Shelter, you still stand a chance of winning 3 digis of your choice.

The Paper Shelter ~ 13th Birthday Celebration & Blog Hop!

Hello crafting friends and welcome to The Paper Shelter Blog Hop, in celebration of The Paper Shelter's 13th Birthday on the 8th of December!  This will be a two week challenge, with both teams taking part, and it's our way of thanking The Paper Shelter for sharing their wonderful images with us, and sponsoring our challenges.

The theme for this challenge is Celebrations!

Using the super cute A Curious Cake digi an A Curious Cake paper pack, I created this tower card.

I used my Balloon edger dies from Made to Surprise's Terrific Towers Excellent Edges set.

I printed all the different papers on cardstock, in blocks of 7" x 7". Then used my trimmer to cut the panels and the dies to cut out the balloons.

On the back of the "tower" I made an extra panel to write my personal message.

Here is a view from the top.  It really is a showstopper card 😀 On the above pic, you can also see that I cut out the cake a couple of times and layered the images upon each other using foam squares, just to add a little dimension.  I printed the cake onto photo paper so that it is beautifully detailed and crisp.

As you can see, the card folds flat for mailing.  You may have to create a special size envelope for it though, and pay a little extra postage, but I think it is worth it.  For me it was not a problem as mine is going to be hand delivered.

Here is a close up of the lovely and delicious looking cake!

🎂 Happy 13th Birthday The Paper Shelter!!! ðŸŽ‚

The Paper Shelter #547 ~ For a Child

Hello friends! Welcome back to our newest challenge at the The Paper Shelter

Team A - our challenge this week is For a Child!

I have two cards to share with you today.  I made these Easter cards for my grandchildren.  So onto the first card, for my little princess ...

I used The Most Adorable Easter Bunny digi set to create this card.  I used the pre-coloured image and the background that comes with it.  I cut out the bunny image twice and layered it to add a little dimension.  In order to get the vivid colours, I print my images on photo paper.  The background, however, is printed on Neenah white cardstock.  I used the silhouette to cut out the "Happy" word at the top and added a few butterfly gems.

On the inside, I used just the background, and stamped my greeting in Memento's Lilac Posies ink.

And here is a close up of the adorable bunny, layered with foam squares inbetween each layer.

Now the card I made for my sweet but rascally 5 year old grandson :-)

For his card, I used the Easter Bunny digi as well as a paper from the Easter Paper Pack.
I print and cut the chicks, grass, ladybugs, and flowers using different files from the Silhouette store.

On the inside, I used the background paper and added another couple of ladybugs, chick, and a few more flowers.

And here is a close up of this cute bunny!

The Paper Shelter offers a $30 gift certifcate for one lucky winner.  In order to get this prize, you must use a product from The Paper Shelter.  However, if you have not used a product from The Paper Shelter, you still stand a chance of winning 3 digis of your choice.
