Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round ~ Little Drummer Boy

Hello and welcome to this month's Christmas challenge at
 Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

Our inspiration song for September's challenge is 𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅯 Little Drummer Boy 𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅯.  This means that you can use any verse, phrase or word in the song to create your Christmas project.  Here are the lyrics of this song for your inspiration

~ Little Drummer Boy ~
Come they told me
Pa rum pum pum pum
A new born king to see
Pa rum pum pum pum
Our finest gifts we bring
Pa rum pum pum pum
To lay before the king
Pa rum pum pum pum,
Rum pum pum pum,
Rum pum pum pum
So to honor him
Pa rum pum pum pum
When we come
Pum pum pum pum
Pa rum pum pum
Pum pum pum pum
Pa rum pum pum
Pum pum pum pum
Pa rum pum pum
Pum pum pum pum pa rum
Little baby
Pa rum pum pum pum
I am a poor boy too
Pa rum pum pum pum
I have no gift to bring
Pa rum pum pum pum
That's fit to give our king
Pa rum pum pum pum,
Rum pum pum pum,
Rum pum pum pum
Shall I play for you
Pa rum pum pum pum
Pa rum pum pum
Pum pum pum pum
Mary nodded
Pa rum pum pum pum
The ox and lamb kept time
Pa rum pum pum pum
I played my drum for him
Pa rum pum pum pum
I played my best for him
Pa rum pum pum pum,
Rum pum pum pum,
Rum pum pum pum
Then he smiled at me
Pa rum pum pum pum
Me and my drum
Come they told me
Pa rum pum pum pum
A new born king to see
Pa rum pum pum pum
Me and my drum
Me and my drum
Me and my drum
Me and my drum
Rum pum pum pum

A while back I got this Advent Calendar die from Hunkydory.  I also got the Advent Calendar Paper Pack 1 and 4.  These are awesome as they include the card fronts, the window reveal backing papers, and matching card inserts. Each paper pack has enough papers to make 12 cards.  While looking Paper Pack 4, I found this image which I thought was perfect for this card as it has a couple of soldiers with drums.

Each image paper is 6" x 6".  I trimmed them down to 5.75" x 5.75" as I wanted a small border around it.  I then adhered all the papers to a 6" x 6" red card base.

Here is a close up.  It's super cute.  A little Advent Calendar in the form of a Christmas card 😊

Using the window reveal sheet behind each card front, makes it so that you can open a little window each day to display a fun and festive image.  Here you can see a couple of the sweet images that pop up when you open the little doors.

Here is a close up.  Day 12 has a gorgeous mini lantern and day 6 has one of the soldiers with the euphonium.  (I think it's an euphonium).

On the inside of the card, I adhered the matching card insert. This makes it so easy to create cards.  Everything you need is right there and it all coordinates and matches perfectly!  It really is easy peasy 😀  The greeting was cut out using the Merry Christmas Tree die from Impression Obsession.  I used the words part only.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Now it's your turn to make a Christmas project,  and come play along with us.  You have till the end of the month to link your project to our blog at  Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round ~ Santa Ornament

Hello and welcome to April's Christmas challenge
at Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

Our challenge this month is Gnomes/Santa/Elves.
Here is our inspiration pic ...

I decided to go with Santa and came up with this card.

I used the Christmas Ornament die from Marianne Design and cut out the ornament using gold mirri cardstock.  I also cut out additional trees and stars in green, red and gold cardstock, respectively.

This card has a beautiful shine to it but it sure was very hard for me to photograph.  Still want to do those photography classes sometime :-)  Even the Santa pic is made of a shiny cardstock.  It is from the 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, Mirri Magic Pad by Hunkydory.

I used the Swiss Dot embossing folder from Cuttlebug for the background and the Bows Punch die from Marianne Design to create the little bow on the ornament.  I topped it off with a tiny gold star.

On the inside, I used the bottom half of the Merry Christmas Tree die by Impression Obsession and used a left over tiny gold star to dot the "i".

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Now it's your turn to make a Christmas project, that falls within our challenge theme, and come play along with us.  You have till the end of the month to link your project to our blog at  Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round - Stitched Polar Bear

Hello and welcome to March's Christmas challenge at Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.  This is one of my favourite months - it's St Paddy's month, my son's birthday, my mom's birthday and my birthday too, which falls on Easter Sunday this year!  How cool is that? 😀

Our challenge this month is Arctic or Antarctic Animals.
Here is our inspiration pic ...

I didn't go with a cute penguin from Antarctica though, I went with a cute polar bear  from Arctica instead.

Inspired by my friend Deanne, and having several sweater dies, I decided to use this Stiched Sweater die from Marianne Design. The floss I used is from Artiste, and the polar bear pattern was found on Pinterest.

It was quite a bit of work, but I love the way it came out.

For the background, I used a sheet of this beautiful Winter paper from the Perfect Pop Ups paper pad by Made to Surprise. For the greeting I used a die from Spellbinders, called Make it Merry Sentiments.

I cut out the trees in green and white to give it the appearance of snow on evergreen forest trees.  This tree die is from Studio Light.  The pretty little Cardinals were cut using the Birch Trees die from Impression Obsession.

On the inside I used a little cut out of the Winter paper and matted it onto blue cardstock to match the rest of the card.

Talking about Arctic and Antarctic animals I have a fun fact to share with you, which of course you may already know, but just the same here goes ~
there are no penguins in the North and there are no polar bears in the South Pole. I remember being taught this at school, (way back when) but wasn't sure if it was still the case as I had read an article that a group of scientists were going to introduce penguins to the North.  Apparently it didn't go well for the small colony of penguins. From the follow up article I read, no body really knows what happened to them.  Scientists have also thought of placing polar bears in Antarctica, but it would disrupt the natural eco system down there, so they have shelved that idea for now.  I'm sure the penguins and the seals that live there are very happy about that.  There are apparently no large predators on the Antarctic landmass, so they only have to worry about whales when they go for a swim. I say leave these animals alone, they're exaclty where God meant them to be!  Just my 2c. 😀

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Now it's your turn to make a Christmas project, that falls within our challenge theme, and come play along with us.  You have till the end of the month to link your project to our blog at  Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

Halloween Night

Hello everyone! Now that Halloween is over, and all cards have been handed out or delivered, I can start sharing my Halloween 2023 makes.

I made this Halloween Night scene card using a tutorial by Sam Calcott, and a few dies I have in my stash.

I made the belly band using a couple of eK punches and the Boo die from Kat Scrappiness. The patterned paper is from Silhouette.

I printed another mat from Silhouette and placed it on the inside.  On it I adhered a moon with a couple of clouds and a few bats from the Haunted House die set from Spellbinders.  The Spooky Happy Halloween die set is from Kat Scrappiness.

The Halloween landscapes are all from Impression Obsession dies - Halloween Landscapes and Halloween Hilltown.

I adhered the message mat to the back. The Spooky Greetings die is from Creative Expressions.

I will be back tomorrow with another Halloween project.

The Paper Shelter #573 ~ Favourite Colour Combo!

Hello friends! Welcome back to our newest challenge at the The Paper Shelter

Team A - our challenge this week is Favourite Colour Combo

To be honest I didn't know where to start on this challenge.  I have so many favourite colour combos 😀  There are the reds, greens and golds, and the blues, silver and white for Christmas, and all the colours of Fall, and of those of Halloween and let's not forget the Valentine and Easter colours ... well, I obviously have lots of favourite colour combos, but the one that first came to mind was the aqua, sand and coral.  I love tropical colours at any time of the year, so although Halloween is just around the corner, I hope you enjoy this trip to the tropics with me.

To go with my chosen colour combo, I picked this "Pretty Mermaid" digi set from The Paper Shelter.  Isn't she just gorgeous? I used a card base die I recently got and started putting all the bits and pieces together. I uploaded the mermaid and the beautiful background, that also comes in this digi set, to the Silhouette. Next I cut out all the elements and printed a large square of the background so that I could use my dies to cut out the different mats.  I duplicated and cut out the seaweed several times.  The mermad was cut out twice and layered using foam squares.

Here is a close up of this beauty, and a few of the seaweed.

I felt like the card needed a few embellishments, so I went thru my "Tropical" stash and die cut several elements.  Here is a close up of the left side of the card.

And here is a close up of the elements on the right side of the card.  I have listed all the supplies I used, further down on this post.

I created another couple of mats for the back. I added a few left over seaweed and a shell.  The Happy Birthday was computer generated.

Crafty supplies used to make this card:
The Paper Shelter - Pretty Mermaid
Studio Light - Card Shape (cut twice and put together) - SL-ES-CD-123)
Marianne Design - Nautical Rope, Coral
Impression Obsession - Seashells (Small)
Karen Burniston - Cruise Charms (anchor)
Memory Box - Seahorses
Amy Designs- Ocean Animals, Sea Life
Cottage Cutz - Crab

Well, I don't know about you, but after making this card, I want to head off to a tropical destination somewhere for Christmas.   It's just too long to wait till Summer again.😀

Before I go, I would like to remind you that The Paper Shelter offers a $30 gift certifcate for one lucky winner.  In order to get this prize, you must use a product from The Paper Shelter.  However, if you have not used a product from The Paper Shelter, you still stand a chance of winning 3 digis of your choice.

I hope  you will come join the fun and share your projects with your favourite colour combo.  You will find our challenge blog HERE.

Using  Sandy Boo - Collecting Seashells from Colour of Love, I created this summer card.

I used an embossing folder for the background called Divine Swirl, and a few Summer themed die cuts to add to the summer vibe of this card.  On the inside, I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment and kept a little space to write my personal message.  I used copic markers to colour the image, and a couple of silhouette files to create the card fold.

Dies R Us #182 ~ Snowballs for Sale

Hello everyone, and welcome to our latest challenge at Dies R Us.

Challenge #182 ~ Anything Goes!
(As long as you use a die sold at the Dies R Us store)

Snowmen are just too cute, and they always make for a happy and festive card, don't you think?

Just look at this cutie.  He is so ready for a snowball fight :-)
To make this card, I started with a piece of snowflake pattern paper from North Wind from Craft & You Design.

I added the snowbanks and the trees.  After fiddling about with my printer and the little wood sign for a while, I finally got the little message printed on the board.  It took some major finagling but where there is a will there is a way, and by golly I was going to get that sign printed :-)  Next I used a small circle punch to punch out the snowballs.  Once this was all done, it was time to die cut and put together Fred the snowman :-)  When everything was adhered to the card, I felt like there was a lot of empty space on the top, so I cut out a snowflake border and added it to complete the scene.

On the inside, I used the rest of the snowflake background paper, added a few trees and the greeting to finish it all off.

Here is the list of supplies I used to make this card.  Remember that not all items are in stock right now because some of the international dies I used are only on sale during Special Order Sales events. The best way to know about these is to subscribe to the Dies R Us Newsletter HERE

Dies R Us ~ Silver Bells

Hello everyone, and welcome to our latest challenge at Dies R Us.

Challenge #181 ~ Anything Goes!
(As long as you use a die sold at the Dies R Us store)

I have another quick and easy card to share with you today. I really love these edge dies from Creative Expressions.  Add a pretty background and you're done. They are so easy to mass produce and I think look beautiful!

For my card I used a piece of  the Christmas Celebrations paper pack by Joy! Crafts. I cut out the Jingle Bells die out of white and silver cardstock and did a little bit of paper piecing so that I would have silver bells. I added a couple of tiny snowflakes made using an old punch. I could not find my tiny snowflakes dies, but I have listed the one I normally use, below.

On the inside, I just adhered a strip of the same background paper I used on the front, added the little bow and another few snowflakes.  And voila, another Christmas card done.

Here is the very small list of dies I used to make this card. I have linked each one
to the Dies R Us store for your convenience.
