Fairy Stamper ~ Spinner and Friend

Hello crafting friends, and welcome to my Fairy Stamper Friday share.

I have a fun summer card to share with you today.
This is Spinner and his friend frolicking at sunset.

To make the background, I cut a stencil using a file from the Silhouette store and I used distress inks to enhance the colours of the background. Next, I stamped Spinner in Fairy Hugs Raven Black ink and then in Memento's London Fog grey ink, masking as I went along. I cut out the same design in green and snipped the green leaves to add a little bit more colour. To create the look of  foam on the splashes I used a little Glitz Glitter gel.  On the inside, I cut out the same design and stamped the greeting.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I hope I have inspired you to create a project and come join the fun. Our challenges go live every other Thursday on our Facebook group.   All you have to do is to create a project and upload the pic to our challenge album.  There is a $15.00 prize for one lucky participant.

Till next time,
crafty hugs!

Lavinia Word #33 ~ Spinner & Guinevere

Hello everyone and welcome to challenge #33 at Lavinia World,
where the theme is always Anything Goes!

I had so much fun putting this card together. I love Spinner, the dolphin. He has such attitude. You can see the playfulness in his expression. And, yes I did give him a googly eye because I dropped a marker right on his eye. And as you all know, there are no mistakes in crafting, only creative opportunities, right? πŸ˜€

So here is Spinner asking Guinevere to go play with him, but she is taking a little "me time", so he'll have to wait till a little later. Do you see how beautifully the new line of Fairy Hugs stamps work with the Lavinia stamps? So easy to build scenes and tell stories πŸ’– I used VersaFine  Clair inks to stamp spinner and all the underwater foliage. I stamped Guinevere using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, because I wanted to colour the rock  with copic markers.  I also used Fairy Hugs glitter on her body and on the seaweed floating in the ocean. I have listed all the supplies below.

On the inside I used the same beautiful Aqua Watercolor Strokes paper. I added the birthday greeting and seaweed to finish it off.

I love the translucent Fairy Hugs glitter.  Here is a close up.  You can see the Orchid colour beautifully, with the iridescent sparkle, but you can still see the mermaid scales of her body.  It's too cool to be able to glitterize (is that even a verb? πŸ˜€) an image without loosing its detail.

And here is a close up of the Ocean Fairy Hugs glitter.  This is not the translucent kind, so you get a solid covering of glitter.  Both types are wonderful to work with. They are super fine, iridescent and very containable which, as we all know, is very important πŸ˜€

Here is the list of all the supplies I used to make this card, each linked to the Lavinia World store for your convenience.

I hope you enjoyed my card as much as I enjoyed putting it all together. I love creating scenes,  especially if they're ocean kind🐬

Now, it's your turn to make a project and come play along with us.  Although our theme is always Anything Goes, you do have to use physical stamps, either rubber or clear.

 NO DIGI stamps allowed.

The winner of the challenge will be able to proudly display our Lavinia World winner's badge on their blog, and receive a $15 gift certificate to the Lavinia World store.  Lavinia World offers the complete range of Lavinia stamps and papers.  Although Lavinia Stamps is from the UK, Lavinia World is a US based store that ships worldwide.

Also, please note that we are not part of any other entity or Facebook group that carries Lavinia stamps.  ONLY the cards posted to Lavinia World Challenges will be entered into the drawing for the Lavinia World prize. Also note that the gift certificates are ONLY valid at the Lavinia World store

For more inspiration, visit our Challenge Blog and see all the wonderful and creative projects my teamies made for you.  We'd love for you to follow us on Facebook and Instagram too!

We now have a public Facebook Group called Anything Lavinia, where you can share your projects, interact with the Design Team, get inspired to create your own projects,  and ask any questions you may have about the wonderful products we use.  There are also challenges and prizes to be won!  One winner will be picked by our Designers.

Pelican Birthday Card

Hello crafting friends and welcome back. Today I have a birthday card to share with you that I made for a friend who loves pelicans πŸ˜€  When she visited us from the Netherlands, we went to Galveston to try to find some, and we did. It was such a wonderful trip and brings back such wonderful memories.

And you know what's funny ... this year we had 3 pelican "couples", maybe, there were 6 of them, that lived on our neighbourhood's lake for a couple of weeks.  They were obviously en route to some other place, but it was great to see them right here.  Too bad my friend wasn't visiting us at the time.  Having said all this, I once had a very up and close personal experience with a pelican that kinda scared me silly.  We were swimming in the sea, and a pelican came swooping down and landed way too close for comfort.  I could have reached out my hand and touched it.  Granted there were lots of fish swimming all around us, but still.  Now, I'm not one that puts a lot of stock in having a personal bubble. I'm Portuguese, we hug, we kiss and we don't have personal bubbles, but if I had one, this pelican was right in it πŸ˜€

This was really a fun card to make. I love the stitching and I was glad that I had the variegated ocean colour floss to do it.  I think it goes beautifully with the pelican, which is a die from Cottage Cutz.  The seashells are from ioDies. the inside greeting is a stamp from Cardz TV's Good Times stamp set.  The other little stamps I used to create the underwater scene are from a stamp set by Scrappy Stamping, called Mermaids. Since this card was mailed overseas, I needed to keep the bulk to a minimum.

Well, that is all from me for today.  Thank you for stopping by and sharing a little bit of your day with me.
Stay safe and healthy.
