Crafty Gals Corner #262 ~ 10th Anniversary Blog Hop

Challenge #262 ~ Anything Goes w/optional twist - Make it Merry!

Our sponsor for this challenge is

Prize ~  $10 Gift Certificate

I created my card using the Cardinal digi from Beccy's Place, and the Stitch & Do No. 159 from Amy Design

If you're one of my followers, you're probably thinking that you've seen me use this gorgeous Cardinal before and you would be right.  I just love this pre-coloured digi and have used it in the past to make several other cards as well as a bunch of gift tags.  It is one of my go-to digis when in a time pinch.

On the inside, I printed a sentiment from Silhouette and added a reduced in size version of the same Cardinal digi.  And that was it for this card, my friends.

Using the beautiful Pumpkins & Sunflowers digi, I created this fun fold card.

I uploaded the image to Silhouette, printed it on photo paper, and then cut it out twice in order to create a second layer and add a little dimension.  I cropped the image and printed out the sunflower several times in different sizes.  I used nine of them on the fan on the inside of the card.  I also added a smaller one to the top and bottom of the card and one at the back, and created a third layer on the front of the card by pop dotting a sunflower onto the original image. There was a lot of fussy cutting involved, but it was worth it.😀  I used the Inverted Corner Square dies from Hunkydory to cut the mat layers for the main image on the front of the card, and the message mats on the back of the card.
This card fold is called a Stadium Wave Card and you can find the tutorial by Sam Calcott, HERE

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I would love to you see you play along with us.  You have until noon, CST, on 10 October 2023, to link your project to our challenge.

Crafty Gals Corner #233 ~ Christmas in July

Hello crafting friends and welcome back to another fun challenge
starting today at Crafty Gals Corner

Challenge #233 ~ Christmas in July

Our sponsor for this challenge is

Prize ~  $10 Gift Certificate

I love cardinals and I'm fortunate to have two cardinal couples that often come play in my backyard and enjoy a few treats I put out there for them.  They also feast on our fig tree which is annoying but we do have plenty to go around.  Birds are annoying, when it comes to my figs, because they pick at several different figs at the same time and therefore destroy a bunch of them in one go.  The squirrels on the other hand, pick a fig, eat the entire thing, and then go on to second one, and so on.  Anyway, now onto my card featuring the gorgeous Cardinal and Holly from Beccy's Place.

I used a Marianne Design Christmas Stocking stencil for the stocking. I uploaded, sized, and cut the cardinal using my Silhouette. Greeting was computer generated.

I sized the cardinal image smaller and printed it on the inside of my card too.  The sentiment is from the Christmas Sayings stamp set by Creative Expressions.

Since I seem to always be short on tags, I thought this gorgeous cardinal would make simple but beautiful tags and I was right.  I made 24 of them.  Couldn't decide whether a red mat or a green mat would look better so I cut 12 of each.  Love how they came out, so I will probably print a few more closer to Christmas.  This is the beauty of using digital images - you can size them for different projects and they always look beautiful!

Well, friends, that's all for today.  Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you liked my card, and feel inspired to get crafty and come play along with us. You have until 12:00 pm, CST, on 9 August 2022, to link your project to our challenge.

Crafty Gals Corner #229 ~ Add a Flower

Hello crafting friends and welcome back to another fun challenge
starting today at Crafty Gals Corner

Challenge #229 ~ Add a Flower

Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is

Prize ~  $10 Gift Certificate

I decided to add a Poinsettia flower in the form of a stitched edge to my card. I think this lovely edger is perfect to showcase the beautiful  Quilted Santa digital image I used from Beccy's Place.

I printed this Santa pre-coloured digi onto photo paper. I love the vibrant colours that came out.  So festive, don't you think? I adhered it to the card with pop dots to add a little dimension.

For the Christmas Stitched Border, by Marianne Designs, I used DMC floss in green and two different shades of red, one for the flower and the other for the berries. On the center of the poinsettia I used a few gold gems from Marianne Designs.

On the inside, I cut another piece of white cardstock and adhered it to the back of the front flap so you don't see any stitching.  I added a red mat and a smaller white mat where I stamped the sentiment.  This is a stamp from Paper Inspirations called Christmas Peace and was stamped using VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you liked my card, and feel inspired to get crafty and come play along with us. You have until 12:00 pm, CST, on 12 April 2022, to link your project to our challenge.

Use Your Favourite Colours at CGC this week

Hello crafting friends.  Welcome to this week's challenge at Crafty Gals Corner, hosted by the Crafty Belles.

Challenge # 139 ~ Use your Favourite Colours

Our wonderful sponsor this week is:

Prize ~ 3 Digital Images / 1 Digital Set

Since I couldn't really get into my crafty due to Harvey, I had my little tin where I keep my card stitching kits and enjoyed a few hours waiting while the storm raged outside.

To complete my card, I couldn't have found a more beautiful image.
This is Wild Rose from Beccy's Place.  I used copic markers to colour it in.
To finish my card, I used a MS decorative corner punch and added a few pearls that I coloured pink and green to match the colours of my card.

I reduced the size of the image and printed it together with my sentiment. I think it brought it all together very nicely.  Forgot to mention ... this is a 5.5" x 5.5" card.

So, have you figured out what my favourite colours are?  To be honest I love colours and pretty much like all of them, but this is one of my favourite colour combinations.

So glad you stopped by today. I hope that I've inspired you to create a project using your favourite colours so that you will play along with us.  You have till noon, CST, on Tuesday, 12 September 2017, to link your project to the Crafty Gals Corner blog.  While you visit, take a look at what my teamies made for your inspiration.

Till next time, happy crafting!

I made three projects using various images from some of our wonderful sponsors.

I used Blessings of the Season by Beccy's Place to create this birthday card for a dear friend who celebrates her birthday on Christmas Day.

For the next card, I used Friends Don't Let Friends Wine Alone 2 by Bugbaoo Stamps and made this Christmas card. I made this image more Christmas-y by adding a Santa hat to the friend on the left, a holly hair clip to the friend in the middle and some Christmas earrings to the friend on the right.  I believe these gals' celebration will last from Christmas to New Year! :-)

For my last card, I decided to make a start on my Easter 2017 cards, so using Egg Colouring Avery by The Paper Nest Dolls, I made this cute Easter card that may find its way to my little granddaughter :-)

I hope you will join in the fun and help us celebrate our 2nd Blogiversary!   Here is the blog hop schedule for you to hop along.  Remember there are prizes to be won along the way :-)

Lena  ...  You're here!

You have till noon, CST, on Tuesday, 3 December 2017, to link your project to our challenge #103, "Anything  Goes", at Crafty Gals Corner. I will announce the winner of the blog candy on our next post on 4 January 2017.  Good luck everyone! Can't wait to see all of your very creative projects.
