Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round ~ Frosty the Snowman

Hello and welcome to this month's Christmas challenge at
 Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

Our inspiration song for June's challenge is 𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅯 IFrosty the Snowman 𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅯.  This means that you can use any verse, phrase or word in the song to create your Christmas project.  Here are the lyrics of this song for your inspiration

~ Frosty the Snowman ~
Frosty, the snowman was a jolly happy soul
With a corncob pipe and a button nose
And eyes made out of coal
Frosty, the snowman is a fairy tale, they say
He was made of snow, but the children know
That he came to life one day
There must have been some magic
In that old silk hat they found
For when they placed it on his head
He began to dance around
Oh Frosty, the snowman was as live as he could be
And the children say he could laugh and play
Just the same as you and me
Oh, thumpety, thump, thump, thumpety, thump, thump
Look at Frosty go, thumpety thump thump
Thumpety thump thump, over the hills of snow
Ah Frosty, the snowman knew the sun was hot that day
So he said, "Let's run and we'll have some fun
Now, before I melt away"
Down to the village with a broomstick in his hand
Runnin' here and there, all around the square
Sayin', "Catch me if you can"
He led them down the streets of town
Right to the traffic cop
He only paused a moment
When he heard him holler, "Stop"
Because ol' Frosty, the snowman, he had to hurry on his way
But he waved goodbye sayin', "Don't you cry
I'll be back again some day, I'll be back again some day
I'll be back again some day"

I've been trying to work through some of the ginormous pile of card kits I have, so I decided to work on this one, which I thought would be perfect for our challenge.

t uses stitching, hobby dots and a decoupage image. I think it came out pretty cute and festive :-)

Here is a close up of all the different elements used on this card. The kit used to make this card is from the Specialties Book Kit No. 13.  I got this kit from The Netherlands, as a gift from my SIL.

I took one of the decoupage layers and used it on the inside of the card.  I think this brings it all together nicely and adds a little something fun on the inside of the card too :-)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Now it's your turn to make a Christmas project,  and come play along with us.  You have till the end of the month to link your project to our blog at  Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round ~ Trees and/or Barns

Hello and welcome to this month's Christmas challenge at
 Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

Our challenge this month is Trees and/or Barns

Here is our inspiration pic ...

I recently received a card kit from my SIL and thought it perfect for this challenge since there are several trees on it.

I used my own papers for the card design. It's a great way to use up some of those never ending scraps.
I cut each circle using a die from the X-Stitch Nesting Circles die set from Tutti Designs. Then I cut them right down the middle and that is how I got the two perfect halves for this card design.

The image is cut from a decoupage sheet and is made up of four layers.  I used foam squares to adhere the layers to each other.

Continuing with the "trees" theme to the back, I added another couple of trees that were included in the kit.

This is a 15cm square card and fits perfectly into a 5.75" square envelope.
Forgot to mention that the little banner that says "Merry Christmas", in Dutch, was also included in the kit.  Since this card will be going to someone dear to us in Holland, the sentiment is perfect!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Now it's your turn to make a Christmas project, that falls within our challenge theme, and come play along with us.  You have till the end of the month to link your project to our blog at  Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

Teen Birthday

Hi everyone.  I have a box of cards that are half done.  Started on them, then got busy and just didn't finish them.  Well, I promised myself that I would start working on them to get them finished.  Another thing that I'm trying to do is blog cards that have been done but not shared.  With the the latter in mind, here is the card I made for my nephew for his birthday which was in November last year.

I thought this would be an appropriate card for a seventeen year old, and since he liked it, I guess mission accomplished 😀

It was done using a card kit made by Marthy from Hand Made Hobby Shop in Holland.  The image has several layers which were fussy cut and then adhered together using foam squares.  I cut out the word Celebrate in blue and white and off set them a tad to make the work stand out a little more against the blue background.

I added the white panel at the back of the card so I had space to write my personal birthday wishes for him.

So, one card shared and many more to go, but never fear, I will get there! 😀

Till next time,

The Paper Shelter #551 ~ This Beautiful Earth

Hello friends! Welcome back to our newest challenge at the The Paper Shelter

Team A - our challenge this week is This Beautiful Earth!
This means you can make a project using anything that relates to Nature.

Using the gorgeous A Cheerful Hummingbird digi, I created this card for a very special lady's birthday :-)

The card base is from a card kit made by the Hobby Shop in Holland, that Santa was very kind to bring for me. I used my own colours to stitch the pattern as I wanted it to match the Cheerful Hummingbird image.

I used the Silhouette to cut out the image a couple of times.  Then fussy cut the hummingbird and used the second one to layer it using foam squares. This adds beautiful dimension without adding too much bulk.

Here is a close up of this gorgeous digi, and if you close one eye and squint with the other really hard, you can see the layered effect. 😀

Thought I would also share a close up of the stitched pattern.  Altogether, it did not take me very long to put this card together.  The stitching is minimal and the card base and all the mats were already pre-cut.  I like the unusual shape and how it shows most of the digi even when closed.  It fits perfectly in a 5.75" x 5.75" square envelope for mailing.

The Paper Shelter offers a $30 gift certifcate for one lucky winner.  In order to get this prize, you must use a product from The Paper Shelter.  However, if you have not used a product from The Paper Shelter, you still stand a chance of winning 3 digis of your choice.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope my card inspired you to get crafty and come play along with us.  You can find our challenge blog HERE.

Christmas Cards - Part 1

Hi everyone. Now that ALL Christmas cards have been received, (some must have taken a scenic route to get to their destination 😃) I can finally share with you some of the cards I made from a Christmas Book Card kit called Specialties No. 3 from Find It Trading, Netherlands.

I thought I would share the first 3 with you today so as not to make this post too long.

It was so much fun working on these cards.  I've completed 6 so far and plan to finish the others soon.  I got another one of these books for Christmas you see, so I want to get started on that one too :-)  It comes with 12 cards and uses a combination of stitching, hobby dots and a decoupage image as the focal point.

Thank you for visiting and spending a few minutes of your day with me.
I'll be back tomorrow with the other 3 cards from this kit. As for the remaining 6, I will share as I complete each one and add them my Christmas card stash for Christmas 2019 :-)

Crafty hugs,
