5th Blogiversary Celebration

Hello crafting friends.  So glad you have a few moments to stop by.
We are celebrating Crafty Gals Corner's 5th birthday!  I can't believe it's been up and running for this long. I'm one of the pioneer members :-) and have enjoyed every minute of being on this amazing team!

Without further ado, let me get on with it ...

Challenge # 181 ~ Anything Goes

To help us celebrate this occasion, we have these very generous sponsors, who not only provide the DT with their fabulous, fun images but are also sponsoring wonderful prizes to you for celebrating with us.  There are seven prizes up for grabs with this challenge, so don't forget to join in the fun and play along with us!

I have two cards to share with you today.
The first card was made using this beautiful and elegant Festive Lantern digi image from Sparkle N Sprinkle.
This is a Christmas birthday card so it serves two purposes.
I always wonder if people who celebrate their birthdays on Christmas Day loose out on a lot of their presents? :-)  But then again, how cool is it to share your birthday with Jesus!!!

For my next card, I used the Christmas Troll digi from Bugaboo Stamps.  My little granddaughter loves the Trolls movie, so I'm sure she is going to like this card, just as sure as she is going to point out to me that this is not the real "Poppy"  :-)  I used a Silhouette file (#110044) for the card layout.

I used various yummies from the Cocoa & Sweet Treats die set from Cottage Cutz. The sentiment is from Cardz TV stamp set called Christmas Critter Captions.  I just blocked out the "moo" part :-)  Love the floating snowflakes effect :-)

Well, I know that you are all busy with your Christmas preparations, so I'll keep this post short and sweet.
You have until noon, CST on Tuesday, 1 January 2019, to link your project to the Crafty Gals Corner blog. While you there, take a few minutes to look at all the cards our DT created for you to celebrate our 5th Blogiversary!  It would be wonderful if you could take an extra few minutes and left some bloggie love on their blogs too :-)

I will be back kicking off another term with Crafty Gals Corner on 2 January, 2019.  To celebrate our new team, we will have a bloghop with some prizes along the way, so don't forget to come back and visit :-)

Till then, I wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with Blessings.
If you're travelling this holiday season, have fun but most of all, be safe!

Loads of hugs,

Proudly May She Wave

Good morning all and to all my
American friends ...

We live close enough to the Pearland High School where the festivities take place followed by fireworks. So we get together with our children and grandchildren, enjoy a barbecue and then at night we all sit outside together with neighbours and their families and watch the fireworks. This has become our 4th of July tradition for the last 10 years. Today, though we are crossing fingers that the weather cooperates because we've been having heavy downpours since last night as a pressure system moves through.  According to the weatherman, it's all supposed to move out by mid afternoon, so there is hope yet 😄

Challenge # 169 ~  Red, White & Blue

Now, onto our new challenge at Crafty Gals Corner.
Keeping the 4th of July celebration in mind, our challenge this week is Red, White & Blue.
Of course, if you're not celebrating with us, you can still play along with us by incorporating Red, White & Blue in your project.  If you hop on to our Crafty Gals Corner Blog, you will find great inspiration from our DT which is made up from Crafty Gals from all over the world.

We have 3 wonderful and very generous sponsors for this challenge. They are:

Elegant Poinsettia Card

Hello and welcome back crafting friends.
A new challenge begins today at Crafty Girls Corner.

Challenge # 157 ~  Anything Goes

Our wonderful sponsors this week are:

Pretty Grafik Design
Prize ~ 1 Image Pack

Sparkle N Sprinkle
Prize ~ $15 Gift Certificate

Lacy Sunshine
Prize ~ 3 Digital Images

Oddball Art Stamps
Odd Ball Stamps
Prize ~ 3 Digital Images

Using the beautiful pre-coloured Christmas Poinsettia by Sparkle N Sprinkle, I created this card.

I stitched a border around to showcase this gorgeous flower.
I cut out the poinsettia 3 times and fussy cut 3 different layers. By adhering each layer to each other with foam squares, I was able to create beautiful dimension on my flower.
All that was left was to add some gems and adhere it to a 5.5" x 5.5" (when folded) cherry red card stock base from GinaK.

On the inside, I printed the sentiment that comes with the Poinsettia flower set. This is an awesome image set. It comes with a pre-coloured image, a non-coloured image and a couple of sentiments. To add a little colour to the inside, I stamped the holly and berries twice and coloured them with copic markers.

I'm so glad you stopped by today. Now it's your turn to make a project, using anything you like, and link it to our challenge #157 for your chance to win one of our wonderful sponsored prizes. You have till noon, CST, on Tuesday, 30 January 2018, to link your project to the Crafty Gals Corner blog.  And while you there, take a look at what my DT teamies made for your inspiration this week.

Till next time,

Isn't it a wonderful list of sponsors? I have four cards to share with you.

My first card uses Beer Background Papers and Beer Mug from Dr. Digi.

The card base is from a pack of 50 of  6.5" x 5" from Recollections.  The white and black cardstocks are also from Recollections.  Inside stamp is called Good Times and it's by Cardz TV.

My second card is made with the Winnie Winterland Polar Friends image from Polkadoodles

I started off with a 5.5" x 5.5" card base from Recollections and turned it into a twisted easel card.
Then I designed the snowflakes around the edge of a piece of navy blue linen cardstock.
I used snowwhite and silver embroidery floss but was a little disappointed with the results as I feel there isn't enough contrast between the two.

I coloured the image using copic markers and then stamped tiny snowflakes to represent snow falling.
This is what the card looks like when flat and ready to mail.

On the inside, I also continued with the tiny snowflakes and stamped the sentiment using a stamp from Christmas Sayings by  Creative Expressions. I punched out a snowflake, using MS punch, several times and stacked them to give me an adequate stopper for the easel part of the card.

For my third card, I used Easter Chicky image from Sparkle 'n Sprinkle.
As you know by now, I enjoy using pre-coloured images and this was one of them.
Isn't this the cutest little chick?

The base of the card is Silhouette design number 75800.
I used the pre-coloured chicky image and added the greeting to the half of the cracked egg.

I cut out the pre-coloured swag of flowers and adhered it to the base of the egg.
I went over them with Wink of Stella clear pen and added a gem to centre of each flower for a little something extra.

I enlarged the half cracked egg and cut it out. Then I stamped my Easter sentiment on it.
This stamp is from the Cardz TV Easter Punnies stamp set.  I also cut a bunch of the flowers to fill up the black space on my card.

And last, but not least, here is my fourth card made with the very cute Rory Ski Slopes from Lacy Sunshine.

Recipe for this card:
Card base - 6.5" x 5" - Recollections - White
Cross Stitch Semi-Circle Dies - Unbranded Dies
Ice Skate die - Marianne Designs
Snowmen Border die - Cottage Cutz
Trees die - Marianne Designs
Christmas Greeting die - Cheery Lynn Designs
Snowflakes - MS Punch
White & Navy cardstocks - Recollections
Snowflake Paper - my scraps drawer

Well, that is it from me today, but before I go, I would like to share the list of our designers. Should you get lost along the way, you can always come back and see where to go next.

And of course, when there is a bloghop, there is blog candy to be won :-)
I will send a surprise package of crafting goodies to one lucky friend who leaves me some love on this post.
