Monster Birthday

 Hello friends. I made this Monster of a Birthday card for my grandson who turned 9 yesterday.

I used a file from Silhouette, by Bella Carta Designs, to make this card. Grey cardstock is from Recollections. All others are from Scraps drawers. I made a second monster frame for the back. This is where I wrote my birthday message for him. It was quite a bit of work to put together, but fortunately the video tutorial was easy to follow, and the smile on my grandson's face made it all worth it!😀

When I saw this beautiful  Ashlee Toad Faerie, I pictured her in a grassy field filled with beautiful flowers, and so this card was made.

I used a file from Silhouette, and added the Ashlee Toad Faerie to the design.

Here is a close up of this gorgeous beauty. I used tiny pearls on her dress and one on the center of her bow, as part of our Twist option for this challenge.

This is a pop up decagon card with 3 pop up layers.

 As you can see I did not add a message panel to the back because it would have been too tiny.  So I'll just write my message on a small note card and place it in the envelope together with this card.

When folded flat for mailing, it fits perfectly into an A9 envelope.

Easter Bunny Hexagon Pop Up Card

Hello everyone. Today I'm sharing another Easter card I made using a Silhouette file.  I love fun folds and this hexagon pop up card is just that.  Easy to put together and fun to display.

All cardstocks and patterned papers are from my scraps drawers.  In fact, I used up a lot of scraps to make my Easter cards this year, but looking at my scrap drawers, it doesn't look like I even made a dent!

I made a little white panel and adhered it to the back so that I had a place to write my personal message.  It's small, so I kept the message small and simple too :-)

Another thing I love about this type of fold is that it folds flat for mailing and does not add a lot of bulk.  Perfect for mailing overseas :-)

Happy Easter!

I'd like to share the Easter card I made for my mom.

This is what Easter is really all about for me and I know that since my mom feels the same way, that she liked it.  This design was cut using a Silhouette file. I resized it, and had to put it at an angle on the mat, but this way I was able to make it little bigger than the original file.

Here is a close up of this card. It really was easy to put together and does not have a lot of bulk which is important when you're mailing cards overseas.

 I adhered a plain white mat on the back of the card, so that I would have a place to write my personal message.

I mentioned that I resized this card.  It came out to be +/- 5.5" by 5.5" when folded flat for mailing and fits perfectly into a regular sized 5.75" square envelope.

Easter Bunny Envelope Card

Hello crafting friends. Today I'm sharing the Easter card I made for my lil granddaughter.

I thought this cute envelope card with the peeking bunny would be right up her alley :-)

The .cut file is from Silhouette. The cardstocks are from different companies. They're all from my scraps drawers.

I added the text before using the print and cut feature on this background.  I cut a few additional flowers to adhere to the back to make it more lively.

I love these cards that are 3D but fold flat for mailing.  This card fits perfectly in a 6" x 6" envelope and since it is being hand delivered, it won't cost a penny more in postage 😀

Chuckie Tool

 Hello everyone.  I've been seeing a lot of people using the chuckie tool and finally got around to go investigating.  After watching a few videos on YouTube, I decided to create my own.

It was very simple to make. I used Glitter glue, that I use on my Christmas ornaments, and poured a generous amount of it into the lid of a Yankee Candle jar lid.   Then I used the Martha Steward fine glitter, in turquoise, my favourite colour since it's the colour of the ocean, and poured it into the lid.  After swirling it around and ensuring that there was an even coating, I shook out the excess.

Next I used the Silhouette to cut out 6 circles of 120 lb turquoise cardstock and adhered them to each other.  I  cut out a circle out of  the self adhesive thick felt that I gotten from Home Depot.  Once cut, I adhered it to the cardstock stack. 

To make sure that my glue would stick properly and securely, I used fine sandpaper and sanded the glass edge of the lid.  Then I applied superglue and adhered it to the cardstock/felt layers.  I placed a weighted coaster on it and let it sit all afternoon.  And voila, my own chuckie tool!   No more CPR stamping for me 😀

I'm not quite sure why it's called a chuckie tool.  Maybe because you can chuck it at whomever tries to bother you during your crafty time???? 😀😂

Back to Homeschooling :-)

Hello crafting friends.  It's back to school time and since my daughter homeschools her little ones, I thought that a little gift for the teacher was in order.  I think a well caffeinated teacher is always a plus 😀

 

I made this little purse, using a die from Concord & 9th, for a gift card to a coffee store.  Not sure yet which one, but that is not going to be a problem since we have several in the area .

The designer paper is from my scraps drawer but it is so much prettier in person as some of the apples have a coat of glitter on them. I made most of the elements from the die set, including the little tassel and heart tag.

I'll be back tomorrow to share another back to school project I made.

Christmas Dessert Treat No. 3

 Today was the last Thursday that hubby took a dessert to work as he is on Christmas break till the New Year :-)  A much deserved break!
So for today, I purchased these cute little chocolate Gnome Santas at the World Market and made a cute treat box to present them.  Just makes them a little bit more festive, don't you think?

The treat box is actually a hand sanitizer gift box file from Silhouette.  I changed it and resized it so that the little gnomes would fit securely in them.  Added a bow, a couple of bells and a little gem to finish it off. And then I decided that the Merry Christmas stickers I had gotten from Hobby Lobby were just the perfect size for these treat boxes, so I added each one to a piece of white cardstock and adhered it to each little box. And that was it ... done.  From what hubby told me, everyone loved them as much as I enjoyed making them, so win-win!  😀

Christmas Dessert Treat No. 2

 So I saw similar on Pinterest and wanted to give it a try and make them for hubby's dessert table at work. I love how these Candy Santa sleighs came out, but thank goodness I have a dual setting heat gun! It was easy to use on the cool setting without melting any of the chocolate.

These each contain the following:

2 Candy Canes

1 Kit Kat (regular size)

5 Hershey Mini Bars

1 Dove Gift Dark Chocolate

1 Russel Stover Chocolate Santa

Yum!

They were very time consuming but so fun to put together. And I behaved ... I only had two Santas while working on them :-)

According to hubby, they were a great hit, so it was well worth the hours spent and it makes me happy to have brought a little Christmas cheer.
