Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round ~ Snowflakes

   Happy New Year crafting friends!

Welcome to a brand new year of Christmas crafting at Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

Our challenge this month is Snowflakes.

Since my family is still here, visiting for the holidays from overseas, I needed to make a quick and easy card.  At times like these, I tend to pull out my Hunkydory card kits and that is exactly what I did today.  Not exactly a whole kit, but I used one of their little books of images, this one with various scenes with snow.

I used an image from the Little Book of Frosty and Friends and cut it to a square. Then I used a sheet of Petite Plaids and used that to create one of the mats on my card. I thought it match the snowman's jacket perfectly.⛄ I matted the image and the plaid paper onto gold glossy cardstock and then adhered all the layers to a white card base.  To add that little something special, I added a few snowflake sprinkles from Kat Scrappiness.

On the inside I just used a few left over pieces to create a little border for my stamp.

Crafty Materials used to make this card:
Hunkydory's Little Book of  Frosty & Friends
Divity Designs Petite Plaids Paper Pad
Marianne Design Gold Cardstock
Kat Scrappiness White Snowflakes Sprinkles
Paper Inspirations - Christmas Peace Sentiment Stamp
VersaFine Onyx Black Ink
Recollections 5.5" x 5.5" White Card & Envelope

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Now it's your turn to make a Christmas project, that falls within our challenge theme, and come play along with us.  You have till the end of the month to link your project to our blog at  Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

Wishing you all the very best for 2024!
May it be blessed with all that makes you smile!

The Paper Shelter #539 ~ Bows &/or Pink

Hello friends! Welcome back to our newest challenge at the The Paper Shelter

Team A - our challenge this week is Bows &/or Pink.
This means you can make a project using bows, lots of pink or both.

When I saw this challenge, my first thought was my little granddaughter, Emma, and how much she enjoys her ballet lessons.  Knowing that The Paper Shelter has a beautiful Ballerina digi I decided to make this pop out gate fold card for my Emma.

I used the pre-coloured image and the beautiful coordinating background paper that is included in the set.  All digi sets from The Paper Shelter come with non-coloured and pre-coloured images as well as a beautiful background.

Since gate fold cards usually need a belly band to hold it close, and since I'm going to be hand delivering this card, I made a rosette out of the same mirror cardstock I used to mat all my bits and pieces. The ballet shoes are a die from Marianne Design,  The mirror cardstock is also from Marianne Design.

I printed the background papers in the various sizes I need for all my mats.

Here is the full card and matching belly band.

A close up of this beautiful and charming ballerina.

I made more mats for the back of the card.  The middle mat is what I'm going to use for my personal message. The stamped sentiment is from the Good Times stamp set from Cardz TV.

The Paper Shelter offers a $30 gift certifcate for one lucky winner.  In order to get this prize, you must use a product from The Paper Shelter.  However, if you have not used a product from The Paper Shelter, you still stand a chance of winning 3 digis of your choice.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope my card inspired you to get crafty and come play along with us.  You can find our challenge blog HERE.

The Paper Shelter #537 ~ New Beginnings!

Hello friends. I'm so excited to share this news with you, I am now a designer for The Paper Shelter. I have created many projects over the years, using their beautiful digis, as they generously sponsor various teams I have been with, but to be a part of their DT is just a dream come true!  I am on Linda's team and will be sharing projects with you every two weeks, and perhaps some in between :-)

Our challenge this week is New Beginnings.
This could be New Year, new job, new baby, etc.

Since this is a New Year, I used the lovely Happy New Year digi to create my very first DT project.  This fairy called to me as she is having so much ringing in the new year 😀  By following a tutorial on youTube, by Sam Calcott, I made this tent swing card which allows my Fairy to swing from side to side. To show you this, I have included a little video clip towards the bottom of this post.

This Fairy is so full of glee as she wishes you and yours a Fantabulous New Year!
May it be filled with love, joy and good health! 😀

As you all know by now, I'd much rather use pre coloured images and that is exactly what I did.  The digi sets from The Paper Shelter come with coloured and non coloured images, as well as a beautiful coloured coordinating background.

A side view of the tent effect.  This allows the Fairy to swing freely without the card sliding open.

I cut a white mat and added a few more streamers and stars.  I adhered this to the back of the card.  This is  where I'll write my personal message.

As promised, here is the little video clip that shows the Fairy swinging to and fro!

I used the following supplies to complete my card:
Hunkydory - Sparkling Snowfall Paper
Marianne Design - Heart Balloon, Christmas Bells, Champagne Set, Pin Numbers
Cottage Cutz - Baby Sleeping on the Moon

The Paper Shelter offers a $30 gift certifcate for one lucky winner.  In order to get this prize, you must use a product from The Paper ShelterHowever, if you have not used a product from The Paper Shelter, you still stand a chance of winning 3 digis of your choice. So come on, come play along with us.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope to see you again next time.

I would like to play along at the following challenges:

Fairy Stamper ~ A Birthday Cocktail

Hello friends and welcome back to my Fairy Stamper Friday share!

I have one of the birthday cards I made for my daughter's birthday.  And yes, I actually made 3 because I was commissioned by my mom and son to make a card for her 😀

This was one of those stamps that called my name as I was browsing thru one of the European Stamps sales events that Fairy Stamper holds every so often.  The best way to know about these special order sales events is to subscribe to their newsletter HERE.

Sometimes, a fancy card fold, a few dies and one stamp is all it takes to make a card 😀
I coloured in the image using copic markers.  For the card fold, I followed a tutorial by Sam Calcott from Mixed Up Crafters.  The stamp I used is called Dolphin Cocktail and it is from Studio Light, designed by Laurens Van Gurp.  During the last European Stamps sales event, there were quite a few of these new stamps by Laurens Van Gurp, all with a tropical "flavour". 😀  The two greeting stamps I was going to use were Birthday Wishes and Deepest Wishes, both Fairy Hugs stamps.  Unfortunately, the two diamonds came out a little smaller than I expected, so I had to look thru my stash of stamps to find something that would fit. The patterned paper was also purchased from Fairy Stamper a long time ago.  It is from a paper pad called Côte d'Azur and it is from Marianne Designs.

As you know I love anything and everything tropical or/and nautical so I had a lot of fun putting this card together.  And the best part ... my daughter also loves anything and everything tropical or/and nautical.  I guess the apple did not fall far from the tree in this case 😀  But then hubby/dad feels the same way, so it's in the genes 😁

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you will come play along with us and share your magical projects on our Facebook group.

Till next time,
crafty hugs!

February Challenge at CCAYR ~ Hearts of Love

Hello crafting friends, and welcome to February's challenge at
 Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round!

Our challenge this month is Hearts of Love!

It's February, the month to celebrate your love for the special people in your life - other half, kiddos, family, friends, etc.  So, when I saw this card from Hunkydory's Festive Deco Shimmer booklet, I thought it would make a perfect Christmas card for this challenge.  Don't they look so much in love?

I used the Silhouette to cut out the deco shape and the gold mat.
I then layered more gold mirror card stock and deep purple card stock to create another set of mats on this 5.5" x 5.5" card.  I used a copic marker to colour the little gems and although they photographed light blue in the picture, they are actually the same deep purple as the card stock in real life. Proof that cameras do funny tricks sometimes 😀

I kept the inside pretty simple. I just cut another two deco shaped mats in the deep purple and white card stocks and stamped a greeting from the Festive Greetings stamp set by Creative Expressions.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you  make a Christmas project and come play along with us.  You have till the end of February 2020 to link your project to our blog at Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round!

Till next time,
