Fancy Easter Egg

Hello friends.  Today I'm sharing the Easter card I made for my Mom.

As it was being sent overseas, I did not add anything that would cause bulk, but I think it came out pretty.  The only little bit of dimension is a few foam squares adhering the bible and flowers to the card, and the tiny little gems on the corners.  Whenever I use little gems, brads, rhinestones, etc. I always add a piece of  heavy weight card stock to the front of the card when I put the card in the envelope.  It protects the embellishements and prevents the envelope from tearing or getting caught in the mailing machines.

For the inside, I cut two mats and used some left over flowers to create my message mat.

Supplies used to make this card:

Card Making Magic - Extravagant Easter Egg Dies
Cottage Cutz - Bible with Lilies
Cottage Cutz - Happy Easter words

Thank you for stopping by today.  I will be back again tomorrow with another Easter card.

CCAYR ~ Christmas Cake Challenge ~ January

Happy New Year crafting friends, and welcome to our January challenge at Christmas Crafts All Year "Round.

We have a year filled with fun and yummy challenges for you.  Deanne has come up with "Christmas Cakes" inspired challenges for us.

Each month, there will be a pic of a Christmas cake and a brief description of what the challenge will be.  A little confused? No worries! Let's start with January's challenge and you'll see how it works and will be joining in the fun ... as well as wishing for a nice slice of Christmas cake to go with that delicious cup 'o java 😀

January Christmas Cake Challenge ~ Snow People

So this is the inspiration picture for this month, and the description is "Snow People".  Now all you have to do to participate in our challenge is to make a card with Snow People.  See, it's easy peasy!

Here is my Snow People card for this challenge.

I used a piece of left over cardstock from the North Wind paper pack. I love this image so decided to turn it into a card. I used dies from the Arch Snowmen Festive Portals Collection by Christina Griffiths, as well as Arched Window Nesting Dies Moonstone dies by Hunkydory to make this card.  Although the trellised background is gorgeous on its own, I added a couple of poinsettias to the corners.  I used a combination of dies from Marianne Designs and Poppy Stamps to make the poinsettias just the right size I wanted for the card.  To finished it off, I scattered a few crystal gems on the front of the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Now it's your turn to make a Christmas project and come play along with us.  You have till the end of the month to link your project to our blog at Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.
