 today at Crafty Gals Corner

Challenge #228 ~ Add a Heart

(listed in alphabetical order)

Prize ~ 3 Digital Images

Prize ~ 3 Single Digital Images

I used this adorable image, called Love Birds, from LeAnn's World 101 to make this sweet Valentine card.

To frame the sweet image, and the sentiment on the inside, I used Silhouette file #313241.
Copic markers were used to add colour to the image. The embossed background was done by using an embossing folder called  Heart Scroll by Crafter's Companion.  The sentiment stamp is from Cardz TV's Love Ya stamp set.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you liked my card, and feel inspired to get crafty and come play along with us. You have until 12:00 pm, CST, on 8 March 2022, to link your project to our challenge.

Crafty hugs,

 .

Love is in the Air

It certainly is, crafting friends and with that in mind, I made a very special card for my precious little granddaughter.  Because of the image I chose to work with, from our very generous sponsor, LeAnn's World 101, I decided to make a card for Emma's birthday, instead of a Valentine's card. I will share all of my Valentine cards the day after Valentine because that way, there won't be any surprises ruined :-)

So without further ado, let me introduce you to this fortnight's challenge at Crafty Gals Corner.

Challenge # 185 ~ Love is in the Air (Add a Heart)

Here is my card using Birdie, from LeAnn's World 101.

When I saw this image, I just knew that I wanted to add a stitched frame to it.  After looking through various patterns, I chose this. My little Emma loves butterflies :-) So I printed the image on X-Press It paper and then pricked the pattern so it would frame the image.

On the inside, I stitched another couple of butterflies to tie it in altogether and used a stamp from Great Impressions Stamp for the greeting inside the card.

I used a small corner chomper to shape the corners and adhered the panel to a 5.5" x 11", folded in half, piece of GinaK pink cardstock.

That was it.  I often get asked how long it typically takes me to embroider on a card.  I would have to say that from beginning to finish, it takes me about 3 hours.  Of course the more complex the stitching pattern, the longer it takes.  I don't normally do it in one go either. It's always a work in progress and really helps to pass those long minutes when I have to sit and wait for something or someone.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope I was able to inspire you to come play along with us.
You have till 12:00 pm CST on 26 February 2019 to link your card to our challenge.
