Love is in the Air

It certainly is, crafting friends and with that in mind, I made a very special card for my precious little granddaughter.  Because of the image I chose to work with, from our very generous sponsor, LeAnn's World 101, I decided to make a card for Emma's birthday, instead of a Valentine's card. I will share all of my Valentine cards the day after Valentine because that way, there won't be any surprises ruined :-)

So without further ado, let me introduce you to this fortnight's challenge at Crafty Gals Corner.

Challenge # 185 ~ Love is in the Air (Add a Heart)

Prize ~ $15 Gift Certificate

Prize ~ 3 Digital Images

Here is my card using Birdie, from LeAnn's World 101.

When I saw this image, I just knew that I wanted to add a stitched frame to it.  After looking through various patterns, I chose this. My little Emma loves butterflies :-) So I printed the image on X-Press It paper and then pricked the pattern so it would frame the image.

On the inside, I stitched another couple of butterflies to tie it in altogether and used a stamp from Great Impressions Stamp for the greeting inside the card.

I used a small corner chomper to shape the corners and adhered the panel to a 5.5" x 11", folded in half, piece of GinaK pink cardstock.

That was it.  I often get asked how long it typically takes me to embroider on a card.  I would have to say that from beginning to finish, it takes me about 3 hours.  Of course the more complex the stitching pattern, the longer it takes.  I don't normally do it in one go either. It's always a work in progress and really helps to pass those long minutes when I have to sit and wait for something or someone.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope I was able to inspire you to come play along with us.
You have till 12:00 pm CST on 26 February 2019 to link your card to our challenge.

Till next time,
