Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round ~ Santa Claus is Coming to Town

    Hello and welcome to this month's Christmas challenge at

 Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.  

Our inspiration song for December's challenge is

 This means that you can use any verse, phrase or word in the song to create your Christmas project.  Here are the lyrics of this song for your inspiration

I'm making a few more advent cards and thought this one would be perfect for this challenge.

I used the Advent Calendar die from Hunkydory.  The image is from the Advent Calendar Paper Pack.  These are awesome as they include the card fronts, the window reveal backing papers, and matching card inserts. Each paper pack has enough papers to make 12 cards.

Here is a close up.  It's super cute.  A little Advent Calendar in the form of a Christmas card 😊  Using the window reveal sheet behind each card front, makes it so that you can open a little window each day to display a fun and festive image.  I didn't want to open these little windows, but if you want to take a look at another card I made, you can follow this link.  There you will be able to see some of the cute images behind each little window.  Each backing sheet matches the advent card front.

I made this card to be an easel card.  On the matching insert sheet, I stamped a sentiment using a stamp from the Christmas Sayings stamp set from Creative Expressions.  The little stopper for the easel element was cut using punches from StampinUp and the little Merry Christmas greeting is a stamp from the Tiny Tidings stamp set from Cardz TV.

Each image paper is 6" x 6".  I trimmed them down to 5.5" x 5.5" as I wanted a small  gold border around it.  I then adhered it all to a 6" x 6" red card base.

40th Anniversary Card

Hello everyone.  Today hubby and I celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary.  It's been 40 years of love, memories and adventures.  Yes, there have been some trials, but together we got thru them. 😀

Here is the card I made for him.

Using a card base from Hunkydory's Foiled Pattern Rocker Cards was a big plus in putting this card together.  I also like that this card base is close to ruby red in colour.  It's traditionally the colour for a 40th Anniversary.

Here you can see the foiled pattern better.  Isn't it pretty?  The bubbly glasses and most other decorative elements are all from a Spellbinders die set called A Special Toast.  The Number Pins are dies from Marianne Design, as are the tiny pearls.

The Happy Anniversary greeting was computer generated and cut using StampinUp punches. Cardstocks used are all from my scraps drawers.

The Paper Shelter #619 ~ Add a Number

    Hello crafting friends and welcome to this week's challenge

at the The Paper Shelter.

I used The Number One Hot Dog digi set from The Paper Shelter to create my card.

I uploaded this cutie to Silhouette and used the print and cut feature to cut it out twice.  Remember I always print my digi images on photo paper to get a crisp vivid image.  Not that cardstock doesn't print well, I just prefer the vivid colours on my printer when printing on photo paper. 

I adhered the two layers together using foam squares.  By now you guys know that I always do this to give my cards a little dimension.  I normally use the 1 mm foam squares from Hunkydory or from Marianne Designs.  This adds dimension but very little bulk which is important for me as I mail a lot of my cards overseas. 

Since she is selling hot dogs, I thought I would add a few of my other favourite "fun" foods, burgers and fries! Don't know why people call them junk!  I think they're awesome!!!!😁  I especially love the fries (chips) you buy in Holland.  They come in cones with a large dollop of mayonnaise and a tiny fork, just as pictured above.

For the birthday greeting, I made it in Silhouette and then printed it on photo paper too.  I just didn't have a Happy Birthday die that would fit on this small card front.  Lastly I threaded a piece of white and silver twine through the side of the card. When closed and ready to mail, this card measures 6" x 4" and fits perfectly into an A7 envelope.

It's always so stressful when I'm doing my last minute Christmas present wrapping and run out of tags.  It happens to me every year.  So much so that this year, I decided that I was going to have plenty of tags on hand.  If you are one of my followers, then you know that I have been making Christmas tags thru out the year, but just to make sure I have enough, I decided to make another 24 when I saw these adorable Christmas images from one of our new sponsors, We Are 3.  Take a look ...

For these tags, I used the Christmas Fun Printables and 3 of the papers from the Victorian Christmas Paper Pack.  For the shapes, I used a Silhouette design file.

They were easy to make and look absolutely adorable.  Here are few close up pics,

On the back, the stamped greeting is from the Star of Light stamp set from StampinUp! and the To and From are from the Poinsettia Stamps & Die set by JustRite Stamps.

And now I'm almost 100% certain that I will have enough tags this year.  Now to find the time to do some wrapping before that night before Christmas rush :-)

While writing my Christmas cards, I realised that my stash is pretty low, so using an image called My Christmas Snowball from the Paper Shelter, I made this Easel card.

This lovely image comes pre-coloured, uncoloured, and has the coloured background too.

I used all the pre-coloured features. In addition I used a snowflake embossing folder to do the front of the card. Love this lil cutie :-)

Caring Hearts Card Drive

About two weeks ago, I came upon this card drive on Jennifer McGuire's blog.  It was started by a very talented crafter,  Vera Yates, 7 years ago and it has been growing every year!  You can read all the details on Jennifer's blog or on Vera's blog.

I decided to play along and made 100 cards to donate to this great cause. So here is what 100 A2 size cards look like :-)

As you can see, I made a variety of cards. I used 2 packs of A2 size cards and envelopes from The Paper Studio. Below are close ups of most of the different designs I made, with a little bit of information on the supplies I used.

These were made using papers from The Paper Studio, card stock from GinaK, Divine Swirl embossing folder and ovals from Spellbinders. Santa chippies are also from The Paper Studio.

To make these cards, I played with my new stamp and die set from StampinUp called Star of Light.

Card stock is from GinaK. 

Card stocks are from GinaK. I used the Christmas Holly embossing folder for the background on some of them.  On the others, I used the Diagonal Stripes embossing folder.

The candy cane was cut using Cricut Explore.

I added stickles to the berries for a little sparkle.

I used card stock from GinaK. and a variety of snowflake papers from The Paper Studio.

The snowman was cut using the Cricut Explore. I added a little green sprig with some berries to his hat to make it more Christmas-sy :-)  Isn't he such a happy fellow? I hope he brings joy to who ever receives it!

I decided to add a design that is more religious.  After all, you can't have Christmas without Religion.  It is a celebration of Jesus' birthday.  The blue card stock is from GinaK, the silver card stock is from Recollections. I stamped the image, a stamp by Stampendous called Travelling Far, using VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with silver super fine detail embossing powder from Ranger.

Green, White and Red card stock are from GinaK. I used the WRMK Quilted embossing folder on the mittens and The Paper Studio Snowflakes embossing folder on the background.  The design is from the Silhouette store and the snowflake was cut using a MS punch.

This jolly old fellow was cut using the Cricut Explore. Card stock is from GinaK. Divine Swirl embossing folder used on the background. He's such a happy Santa - must be the expectation of  all those cookies on Christmas Eve :-)

Well, when you put 100 cards into a box, it doesn't look like much, does it?  But let me tell you that it did take me quite a while to get them all done, but I enjoyed every minute of it! Now that I know that this card drive runs every year from the beginning of October till Thanksgiving, I'm going to try to make more for next year.  If you enjoy making cards, maybe you can join in too! :-)
