Good Luck in the Army

A friend of my son's has joined the Army and set off for Boot Camp last week.

I made this card to wish him Good Luck and to let him know that we will be thinking of him and praying for him.

If I were to make this card again, I would probably make the boot a little darker, but I think that these colours worked well together.  This is a Silhouette cut file, design # 78915.  I added some metal brads and twine for the shoelaces.  Sentiment and greeting were all computer generated.

After looking at various backings for ATC's, I decided to make my own and this is what I came up with.  In case you are wondering, I called it Good Luck Frog because this lady is busy with her vet exams.  Hopefully, this cute little frog will bring her loads and loads of luck :-)

HIMCR Challenge #161 ~ Ribbon!

Happy Saturday all.  We have a fun challenge for you today, at Hiding in My Craft Room, and that is to use Ribbon!  Yes, it's that fun and it's that easy!

For my card, I used their very cute Sailor Boy image.  I fell in love with this little sailor the minute I saw him, so I was very happy that I was able to choose this image to work with.  If you want to see more cute images like this, just stop by the Scrapbook Stamp Society web store.  You won't be disappointed :-)

The solid colour cardstocks are from Co'ordinations, the striped one is from Colorbok. Ribbons are from my stash and the buttons were purchased at Jo-Ann. I coloured the image using copic markers.

 

 

For the inside I used the same papers and added an anchor from the SU! Open Sea stamp set.  The sentiment was written by yours truly :-)  I have a very special young man in mind to whom I'm going to give this to :-)

1st Day of Big School :)

As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, my little nephew is starting "Big School" :) on September 13th, in Portugal, so I made him this card using Myrtle, the scholarly turtle image from Degital Delights.

I welded two apples from the Doodlecharms cartridge in DS. I then cut all the layers and placed them on the front of the apple.  I printed and cut out Myrtle and popped him on an Action Wobble, so here he is Wobbling away. I think my nephew will really enjoy playing with it.

For the sentiment on the inside of the card, I printed it on cardstock and then cut out the apple shape, in black out mode, using the center point feature on the cricut.

Good Luck in Junior Year!

My son begins his Junior year today!  Where have the past 10 years gone to?  I made him a card that is totally out of the norm for me in that it's a cutesie kind of card for my 16 year old son! I was feeling a little down and decided to just have some fun instead and embrace the inevitable - he's growing up fast! So, I got these digi-stamps from Degital Delights, re-sized them to fit my 6.5" x 5" card, and put them together with some background papers from my stash.  I put Myrtle, the scholarly turtle, on an action wobble.  It's too cute!  Fortunately, my son saw the fun in this card too and told me that he liked it.

For the inside of the card I also used a digi-stamp. The sentiments are from my heart and computer generated to fit into the book frame.

And here is Myrtle, wobbling away :)

This card actually turned out very cute and I think I will make a similar one for my 5 year old nephew who is going to be starting "big school" in September.

Rabbit for Good Luck

My SIL underwent hip replacement surgery.  I made this card for her.  I forgot to take a pic of the inside, but it said: I'm not just sending you the rabbit's foot for luck, I'm sending you the entire rabbit :-)  I think it worked because her surgery was today and it went even better than what the surgeon expected and that, my friends, is always a good thing!  Thumper was cut using the Disney Classics cartridge.

Good Luck Card

You may remember from previous posts that I have a very dear friend that was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. After her first mastectomy and rounds of chemo she has beat it and is now a survivor!!! However, she is still facing her second mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. I made this card to send to her to wish her luck with the upcoming surgery and to let her know that she is in my thoughts and prayers. I cut the horse shoe from the Toy Story cartridge and the 4-leaf clover using Designer's Calendar cartridge. The cardstock, designer paper, ribbon and gems are from my stash. I added the little gems because, let's face it, the card needed a little bling ~ the gems are actually hot pink just like the mat cardstock but they came out looking more like rubies in pic.
