Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round ~ Snowflakes

   Happy New Year crafting friends!

Welcome to a brand new year of Christmas crafting at Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

Our challenge this month is Snowflakes.

Since my family is still here, visiting for the holidays from overseas, I needed to make a quick and easy card.  At times like these, I tend to pull out my Hunkydory card kits and that is exactly what I did today.  Not exactly a whole kit, but I used one of their little books of images, this one with various scenes with snow.

I used an image from the Little Book of Frosty and Friends and cut it to a square. Then I used a sheet of Petite Plaids and used that to create one of the mats on my card. I thought it match the snowman's jacket perfectly.⛄ I matted the image and the plaid paper onto gold glossy cardstock and then adhered all the layers to a white card base.  To add that little something special, I added a few snowflake sprinkles from Kat Scrappiness.

On the inside I just used a few left over pieces to create a little border for my stamp.

Crafty Materials used to make this card:
Hunkydory's Little Book of  Frosty & Friends
Divity Designs Petite Plaids Paper Pad
Marianne Design Gold Cardstock
Kat Scrappiness White Snowflakes Sprinkles
Paper Inspirations - Christmas Peace Sentiment Stamp
VersaFine Onyx Black Ink
Recollections 5.5" x 5.5" White Card & Envelope

Kat Scrappiness ~ Santa's Sleigh Shaker Kit

Hello crafting friends and welcome back.  As most of you know Christmas is my favourite time of year and I just can't wait for Christmas in July to start :-)

I made this card using one the shaker kits from Kat Scrappiness,. Love these kits!
They're easy to put together and they're shakers! What's not to love, right?

One side of the shaker is white, the other has the wood look.  This time I didn't paint the frame as I wanted to use kraft cardstock and though the colours matched perfectly.  For the shaker I used the following

Santa's Sleight Shaker Card Kit
Slimline Mountain Scapes
Slimline Tree Forest

I used following shaker elements and adhered a few extra snowflake sprinkles to the outside of the acetate for a little more interest.  That way, there are always snowflakes in the picture, even when all the sprinkles and sequins settle to the bottom.

Snowflake Sequins
 White Snowflake Sprinkles
Sparkling Clear Drops
Mirrored Clear Star Sequins

On the inside I stamped a sentiment from the Reindeer Games Sentiments Stamp Set.

And that was that.  The only other thing I did was to use a very old embossing folder to create a little texture behind the shaker element. I did the same thing on the inside of the card for continuity.  You'll find all the above products and so much more at the Kat Scrappiness store.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

CCARY ~ November's Christmas Challenge

Hello crafting friends and welcome to this month's challenge
at Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

November's Challenge ~ Pink & Green Colour Combo
This is November's Christmas cake inspiration pic.

For this month's DT project, I made a cute shaker ornament for my little granddaughter, Emma.

I  used the Snow Globe dies from Hunkydory, to cut out the snow globe several times in order to turn it into a shaker ornament, and then I used several other dies to cut out all the elements inside the snow globe. I added a sequins mix from Kat Scrappiness as my shaker fillers.

Products used to make this card:

Hunkydory - Snow Globe
Marianne Designs - Presents Bag
Elizabeth Craft Designs - Holiday Elf ~ Hers
Kat Scrappiness - Iridescent and White Snowflake Sprinkles, Sparkling Clear Drops

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Now it's your turn to make a Christmas project that falls within our challenge theme, and come play along with us.  You have till the end of the month to link your project to our blog at  Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

KS ~ Love You Watts

Hello everyone. I hope you are keeping nice and warm in your neck of the woods.
We are going thru an Arctic Blast with temperatures in the 30's/low20's F (sub zero deg C), so for me it's hibernation time in the form of crafting 😀

While looking thru some Silhouette designs, I came across this Love You Watts file and right away thought of the beautiful and fun light bulb I had recently purchased from Kat Scrappiness.  I thought the two would go perfectly together.  What do you think?
The light bulb comes as a kit in it's original light wood colour.  It includes all you need to make the shaker element on your card. The only thing you have to add are the actual sprinkles inside in order to personalize it. I painted mine white with acrylic paint, then added red stickles to the hearts and went over the base with a silver sharpie to make it more authentic.

The sprinkles I added inside are a mixture of Be Mine Valentine, Red Heart Sequins, and Sparkling Clear Droplets, all available at Kat Scrappiness.
Once my light bulb was complete I adhered it to a piece of holographic hearts cardstock.

The inside was done with the file from the Silhouette store. I just cut all the various elements in white and red cardstock.  I added a sprinkling of red hearts and stamped the sentiment. The red hearts were cut using a MS punch and the sentiment was stamped using a Recollections stamp.

I recently got an Embellishment Organizer, from Kat Scrappines, to organize all my shaker fillers and keep wondering why it took me so long to get one :-)  It's so handy.  I have all my bits and pieces in one small handy container.  Each organizer comes with 64 individual containers which are perfect to store beads, sequins, and any other small embellishments.  It also comes with a sheet of labels that you can use so you know what is what.  Since it's all clear plastic, it's easy to see all of them at a glance and pick the ones you want to use.  As you can see, I still have plenty of empty ones that need some filling 😀

Kat Scrappiness has beautiful dies, stamps, and sprinkles for your shaker cards. Stop by and be pleasantly inspired.   I hope you enjoyed my card today.  I will be back with another Valentine card made using Kat Scrappiness dies soon.

Till next time, stay safe and well.

Crafty hugs,
