CCAYR ~ Twelve Drummers Drumming

Hello crafting friends and welcome to this month's challenge  at Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.  On our last "The 12 days of Christmas" challenges, this month we have Twelve Drummers Drumming.

This is December's inspiration pic.
Our challenge this month is to have Twelve of something or a Musical Theme.

My musical theme card was inspired by this sweet image from Hunkydory's Little Book of Season's Greetings. To cut out the shaped mats, I used dies from the Christmas Card Set by Amy Designs.  The music note paper came from my scraps drawer, so no info on that. The stamped sentiment is a stamp from Stampabilities, called Glory of Christ.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Now it's your turn to make a Christmas project that falls within our challenge theme, and come play along with us.  You have till the end of the month to link your project to our blog at  Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

CCAYR ~ March Christmas Challenge

Hello crafting friends and welcome to this month's
Christmas Cake Challenge at Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

March Christmas Cake Inspiration
Holly & Berries &/or Stars, with Brown as the main colour!

Brown is not a colour I typically associate with Christmas, so this really was a challenge for me, but I think I managed. What do you all think?

I started by looking through my Christmas papers, and chose this patterned paper from the Woodland Winter Paper Pad by Studio Light.  Next I cut out the brown paper mats and Petra's Botanical Star, from Marianne Designs, both in brown and in white. I decided to use the white for the front with the brown inlay in order to make my little squirrel multi layered image stand out a little more.  The squirrel is from the Holly Jolly Christmas cutting sheet by Yvonne Creations.   I used pop dots in between each layer to add dimension. The stamped greeting is from the Vintage Christmas stamp set by Whimsy Stamps and was stamped using Brilliance's Coffee Bean ink.

On the inside, I the brown star with the white inlay so that I could stamp my sentiment.  This  sentiment is from Great Impression Stamps, and was also stamped using the Brilliance Coffee Bean ink.  I added my favourite little holly stamp, from Stampabilities, and coloured it using copic markers.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Now it's your turn to make a Christmas project that falls within our challenge theme, and come play along with us.  You have till the end of the month to link your project to our blog at  Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round - " F " is for Figgy Pudding

Welcome to our March challenge at Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

This month our challenge is to create a project with something beginning with
 the letters E or F.

For my DT project, I used the letter "F" for Figgy Pudding.

Looks pretty delish, doesn't it?

This is  not a good pic, but it shows all the sparkle and shine beautifully.

Love this sentiment.  If features in a lot of my Christmas cards, together with this Holly penny stamp.

As I was making this card, I realised that I have never had Figgy Pudding and that I wasn't even quite sure what it was.  I know the Christmas carol, but not much about the actual pudding.  So I decided to visit my friend Google and investigate a little.  All I can say is that back in the day, many centuries ago, I would not have touched it, but after looking at a few modern day recipes, it sounds very yummy.  The one recipe I found has figs, dates and dark chocolate as it's 3 main ingredients. What's not to like, right? :-) I don't think I'm going to wait for Christmas to come around before trying this :-)
I love figs! We have a fig tree in our back yard that gives us the most juiciest, sweetest, large figs I've ever seen, the purpley kind (Black Mission Figs).  Well at least it did until  this ice storm, Uri, hit us last week.  Spring will tell, I guess, because right now this fig tree is looking very sorry for itself, as is the rest of everything in our garden.  Anyway, during the month of July, I pig out on figs.  They are so delicious when freshly picked from the tree.  I even love them with ice cream :-)  We get such an abundance of figs that we make approximately 10 jars of jam every year.  Now bear in mind that this is just a small tree.  And this is even after fighting with the birds and the squirrels that seem to find our tree irresistible too!

Okay, so now that I feel like some figs, and there are none to be had, let me tell you what I used to make this card, instead.

Merry Christmas Mooses :-)

Hello and welcome to December's challenge at
 Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round

December Challenge ~ Santa, Mrs. Claus or Elves

Here is my DT project. I stitched the frame using a pattern from my stash.
The image is from the Hearty Crafts 3D Toppers set called Christmas Mooses.
These are super cute and very easy to put together because they're already cut out for you, so no fussy cutting 😀

I added a greeting sticker, and a glitter dot to each corner.

On the inside I stamp a sentiment from Great Impressions Stamps and a couple of small hollies from Stampabilities.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and spending a little of your time with me.  I hope you  make a Christmas project using Santa, Mrs. Claus or Elves and come play along with us.  You have till the end of December 2019 to link your project to our blog at Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round!

October's Challenge at CCAYR - Angels or Nativity

Hello and welcome to October's challenge at
October Challenge ~ Angels or Nativity
Prize: Please see the CCAYR blog for prize details.

If you're a follower of my blog then you know that I love stitching on cards and I think I found the perfect pattern to showcase this beautiful decoupage angel.  What do you think?

As always, I struggled to get a good pic of the gold details on the angel. But to go with them, I used gold embroidery floss as well as gold mirror card stock as a mat for the stitched card.

Crafty Ingredients:
Card base - 5.5" x 5.5" - white - Recollections
Gold Mirror card stock - Marianne Design
Angel Image - Hearty Crafts - Angels
Memento Summer Sky ink to shade the background
Christmas wishes stamp - Great Impression Stamps
Holly stamp - Stampabilities
