As I mentioned before, hubby is retired now and this is a hobby that we enjoy doing together. With him being a Mechanical Engineer, it helps a lot when we have gears, motors, lights and sound boxes to put together to make things move and play :-)
This book nook came out beautifully and was easy-ish to put together. Not quite happy with just how it would light up, hubby decided that it would be so much better to add the Hedwig melody to it since there is a sign that says 9 3/4 station :-) So after a little investigation, he got a sound module, recorded the song and voila, now it lights up and plays the song and it is absolutely stunning!
Another addition to this book nook that hubby made was to replaced the 2 x AA battery pack with a USB connection, and it is now connected to a power bank, which helps with the hassle of having to replace batteries frequently :-)
We are busy with another book nook which will be a piece of Halloween home décor, rather than a normal book nook. I will come back and share it with you once it's made. This one is proving to be a little more difficult - lots of tiny pieces and the quality of the materials are not as good, but that is one of the problems we've encountered so far. Different brands equals different quality of materials and ease of it all coming together nicely. We are both very persistent, so it will get done :-)
