It's Saturday, so it's time for another challenge at HIMCR. This week is Challenge # 119 which is Super Scraps Saturday. Our sponsor this week is Freckled Fawn. They have the cutest embellishments for all your projects. Do take some time to go visit them, you'll find new items to add to your "I must have" list :-)
Here is a pic of their October release...
For my project I used their lovely metal flowers and rich jewel toned rhinestones. As you all know I make calendars every year to send to my family overseas. This is my February page. It would normally be all about Valentine, but this year it's all about my daughter's wedding.
The background paper is the same she used for her invitations, etc. I used the Madera corner die from Memory Box to cut the two corners. I just love the dainty look about them. I placed one of the Freckled Fawn flowers on each corner and added two of their blue rhinestones to the other corners to finish it off. The silver mat is called Silver Linen and is by Hot Off the Press.
I used a few more scraps to cut out the word February using the Design Calendar cricut cartridge. The wedding rings were cut from the same silver paper, using a Marianne die.
I buy these calendars at Hobby Lobby. They come ready assembled, so it's just a matter of decorating them. I buy the stickers for the days. I tried stamping these, but after stamping an average of 30 days per month for 12 months for 4 calendars ... well let's just say that it was just too much stamping for me :-) The stickers are preprinted and self adhesive, so it goes a lot faster. I do however, still stamp the days of the week as I wasn't able to find stickers for these.
Well, dear crafty friends that was my project for this week. Now it's your turn ~ go grab some of your lovely scraps and make a project, link it to HIMCR Challenge # 119 - Super Scrap Saturday, and join in the fun. You will find loads of inspiration from my team mates and there is a $20 gift certificate from our wonderful sponsor, Freckled Fawn, as a prize this week.
Have a lovely weekend where ever you may be.
Hugs,
Lena
