Graduation Card for Young Man

So, as promised, here I am with my second graduation card, also for a young man.  This one's colour theme is maroon, black and white which are his school colours.  I used the Paper Dolls Teen Scene to make this graduating doll.  The problem with this cartridge is that there are no noses or mouths on these dolls and I just can't stand that, so I drew them in myself.  Unfortunately I can't draw worth diddly, so it didn't come out the best but it's going to have to do.

Since the recipient of this card is a great trombone player and plans on following a career in music, I wanted to incorporate something musical in card.  Looking through my stash I found the black and white music note paper that I thought was perfect for this card.

The numbers and sentiment were punched using an assortment of punches from EK and SU! I made the little tassle using crocheting cotton and used a little black gem in the centre.  Normally, I use brads but the ones I had were a tad too big. I used a few more of the little black gems on the card to tie it in all together.

For the inside, I once again mixed and matched a few sentiments to come up with the one I wanted.  I just remembered that I need to make a little gift card pocket on the other side of the card to insert the gift card we got him.

I think I'm done with graduation cards for this year. Thank you for stopping by today and for your lovely comments.

Hugs,
Lena

  2. The maroon and black look great together. The patterned paper looks great. Love the music notes on it! The graduate looks like he's going to walk off the page! Love the sentiment inside. Great job!
    Lots of Hugs,
