Flying Chipmunk

😁 Not quite what you're expecting my friends!  😁
My nephew has spent the last 6 weeks going thru the application and acceptance process to attend the Portuguese Airforce Academy.  During flight week, he's been flying "chipmunk" planes.

And we just got the news that he got thru this week with well deserved acceptance!!!

Since we're going to be visiting soon, I made a card for him and also got him a little "chipmunk plane" keychain, (seen on the pics). This is just a little fun gift to go with the card, to show him that we've been there right along with him thru the whole process, rooting for him and praying for him.

To create the background, I used the Riding the Waves Stencil from Made to Surprise to make the clouds.  I wanted it to be a very subtle background so that the plane would pop.

I used the Spitfire die from Frantic Stamper to make the plane.  I cut it out of silver, green and red cardstock so I could put in the little inserts which are the colours of the Portuguese flag.  The plane is adhered to the background with foam strips.

On the inside, I kept it simple by just stamping the very large sentiment, from the Sentiment A5 stamp set, also from Made to Surprise.

And that is it for today.  I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to seeing him and the rest of the family next week 😀

Enjoy the rest of your Summer!
