Hello everyone and welcome back. Today I'd like to share the card I made for my daughter for her 35th birthday. She is reading a series of books that are all about dragons. Apparently a very popular series, except that I have no clue what it's called 😀 Anyway with that in mind, I went looking thru my crafty supplies and you can imagine how happy I was when I found this Hunkydory set of toppers called A Touch of Magic. I also have the matching paper pad called A Touch of Magic - Brilliant Backgrounds.
Next it was time to go find a fold that would make this dragon fly. My go to place for fancy fold cards is always Sam Calcott from Mixed Up Crafts. I decided to use her Gatefold Hammock card. You can go HERE for the tutorial.
I used two narrow pieces of acetate to make my dragon fly. I think that it gives it such a cool effect 😏
Here is a close up of the dragon topper and the gorgeous background. These colours are gorgeous. I just wasn't able to capture them properly. I really do need to take a photography course!
I used bits and bobs from the toppers to add that little something extra to the inside of the card.
This card turned out to be rather large as I wanted to use as much of the background paper as I could. So in the end it measures 8" x 5.5". It is rather bulky but fits perfectly in an A9 envelope.
That's all for today. Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you've enjoyed my card as much as I enjoyed making it! Oh yes, my daughter loved her card! 😀
Crafty hugs,
