Every now and then we all need one of these cards. Most difficult cards for me to make. I don't keep them in my stash, so when I need one, my heart is breaking for the recipient as I'm putting it together.
I began by measuring the panel that I would need to stamp my rose, bearing in mind that I wanted a thin line of black all the way 'round. I inked the edges using a blending brush and Victorian Velvet distress oxide ink. Next I stamped the rose, from the Wild Roses stamp set by Fairy Hugs, coloured it in and ran the whole panel through my printer as the greeting was computer generated. I added a shimmer organza ribbon to the bottom to give the illusion that the roses are tied with bow.
Once the panel was done, I cut the Lattice Frame, from Kat Scrappiness, and adhered the completed panel to it. I wanted a little more of that Victorian Velvet as a background, so I inked another piece of cardstock that was the same size as the lattice mat. I adhered the two together and then I adhered those panels to another piece of black card stock . This card measures 4.75" x 6".
I decided to do a little decorating on the envelope too, so I used the same ink and blended it all around the edges. I stamped another rose in the corner, this time from the Rosalie's Rose stamp set, also by Fairy Hugs, to tie it in altogether.
I forgot to take my photos before writing my personal message, but I think you get the idea of what I did on the inside. Simply ink blended around the edges and matted it onto a black piece of card stock.
My finishing touches were to add some sparkle to the roses by using a clear Ink of Stella pen, and to scatter a few pearls on the front panel of the card. And that was that, it is now ready to put in the mail.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you will come play along with us and share your magical creations on our Facebook group.
It's beautiful, Lena. I'm sure it brought comfort xoxo
ReplyDeleteI usually try to make mine ahead of time and keep in my stash as I find it hard to be creative when feeling sad. Your did a beautiful job in this case, and it must have been difficult. I am sure it was appreciated by the recipient and brought them some comfort. A lot of people around here are dying suddenly and some are quite young. It's a strange time we are living in.
