Lavinia World #43 ~ Secret Garden

Happy New Year crafting friends. May 2021 bring you all that makes you smile and see the end to this virus!!!

Today begins challenge #43 at Lavinia World! As always, our theme is Anything Goes!

Have you ever been visiting a botanical garden or a beautiful countryside and come upon a beautifully ornate but closed gate?  Well, there is a reason for that ... it's a Secret Garden where fairies reside. Come inside and take a look ...

Somehow, Pipin found his way in and amongst all the lavender, he is trying to find his fairy friends.

You can really let your imagination run wild and come up with all sorts of magical scenarios beyond that gate, can't you? 😀

One of the things I love about crafting is how you can use stamps and dies together and this card clearly shows how beautifully they work together.  So now let me tell you how I made my card.  I started with a 5.75" x 5.75" white piece of cardstock and used a die cut/embossing folder to create the wall with the gate. I also die cut a grassy border, a few lavender bunches and a few pieces of vines. Next, I coloured in all the pieces and rubbed the gate very gently with a copper glaze. I then adhered all the bits and pieces to the garden wall.
Now to work on the inside of the card.  I got a 5.50" x 5.50" piece of smooth white cardstock, placed it behind the wall, and very lightly traced the entrance.  I then used the various stamps in various ink colours to create my scene.

Lastly I placed thin foam squares (2mm) on the reverse side of the wall and adhered it to the garden image. These thin foam squares give it just a tad of dimension but enough to create a beautiful effect. I then adhered the two mats to a moss green 6" x 6" card base and it was done.

As always, I have linked each product that I have used to Lavinia World, for your convenience.

The winner of the challenge will be able to proudly display our Lavinia World winner's badge on their blog, and receive a $15 gift certificate to the Lavinia World store.  Lavinia World offers the complete range of Lavinia stamps and papers.  Although Lavinia Stamps is from the UK, Lavinia World is a US based store that ships worldwide.
