Hello crafting friends. It's my turn today to share a DT project for Simply Crafty SVGs.
Using the very cute Easter Egg Treat Boxes svg's, I created these treat boxes for my Easter table but decided to use them as place boxes too, instead of place cards :-)
I made 8 of them, so grab a cuppa because I'm sharing them all with you. These treat boxes were so easy to put together and fun to decorate.
I have four for us girls.
And four for the guys.
Instead of putting everyone's name on the boxes, I decided to get a little creative and decorate them with an image that is relative to the person. This one is mine :-) And yes, although I do love fru-fru drinks, this image is supposed to represent my love for anything and everything tropical, including the fru-fru drinks :-)
This one is for my little granddaughter, Emma. She'll be four years old in a couple of months and loves Minnie Mouse.
When I saw this cute mermaid image, I knew it would be perfect for my daughter. She has loved the water since she was a baby. In fact, she was the baby that would cry when you took her OUT of bath, not when you put her in it. By the time she was two and a half, she could doggie paddle across an Olympic size swimming pool (width wise) without any floating devices. We always joke and tell her that she must have been a mermaid in her previous life :-)
This is Baby Groot who is my son's girlfriend's favourite character, so I found him to decorate her box. Isn't he a cute little fellow? :-)
Does this tell you how old we are? Yes, Tintin and Snowy are some of hubby's favourite characters, along with the Smurfs, and Asterix & Obelix, but I decided to go with Tintin.
And here is Mickey for my little grandson, Derek. I decided that Mickey will be his favourite character. He just doesn't know it yet :-) He's 9 months old and anything bright that rattles or/and plays music is his favourite at the moment.
My son loves foxes. Not necessarily Todd, but when I saw this cutie, I just had to use it.
Did you know that there are domesticated foxes for sale as pets? Well, it was new to me, but when we were looking for a new puppy for my son, 5 years ago, he found a load of information about it. We just weren't too sure if they were domesticated enough and also not too sure that a wild animal shouldn't be left in the wild.
My son-in-law loves model cars. It's his hobby to build them and paint them, especially the classic muscle cars. Since, the only thing I know about cars is to ensure they have gas and drive them to get where you want to go, I'm hoping that he'll like this one.
On the back, all boxes look the same. I wanted some uniformity when you look down the table.
Do you see the little pink flower cut outs from the handles on the girls' boxes?
Those are the little pink flowers I shaped and placed on the grass at the back of each box. I used a very old punch for the little yellow flowers.
Well, there you have it, all eight boxes. What do you all think?
I think it's going to be fun and also pretty easy for everyone to know where they'll be sitting :-)
I almost forgot to mention a few things. Since these are SVG's, you can resize them to any size you like. Mine are 1.75" wide and 1.5" deep. I placed a little bit of the paper Easter grass inside each one and topped it with 6 Cadbury Mini Easter eggs. All my card stock is from Core'dinations Gemstones collection. It cuts beautifully on both the Cricut Explore and the Silhouette Cameo and has a beautiful shine to it.
Everything you see on the boxes is included in the svgs files. The only extras I added were the images (all royalty free clipart images found on Google) and the little yellow flowers.
I hope I have inspired you to create your own projects for Easter. Don't forget to take a few minutes to visit Simply Crafty SVGs. There you will find all the wonderful files available for purchase and quite a number of freebies too :-) While you there, you can visit the blog and meet the rest of our wonderfully talented design team.
