Hello crafting friends. Today, I'm on the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog sharing a Valentine card I made to send overseas to my mom. She lost her Valentine (my dad) 22 years ago! I know that she thinks about him and misses him a lot on Valentine's Day, so I always make a card to let her know that she is loved by her children, grandchildren and great-grandkids :-)
I used the Entwined Hearts from Elizabeth Craft Designs to cut the hearts in red card stock. Next, I cut and embossed the Long Stem Rose from Frantic Stamper. I cut both the line rose and the backing rose in red and in green. Before making any of these cuts, since I was working with delicate dies, I used a Stick-It Adhesive Sheet on the back of the card stock before making the cuts. This also creates a firmer hold when placing delicate dies on embossed card stock.
I used Memento Lady Bug ink to shade in all the embossed areas on the rose.
I used Memento Cottage Ivy ink to shade in the stem and leaves of the line rose and the backing rose.
Once this was done, I assembled the rose and placed it over the entwined hearts die cut. I adhered the rose and the extra little hearts using a Zig 2-Way Glue Pen .
For the inside, I used the smaller version of the entwined hearts and stamped my sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope I was able to inspire you to use your dies, create a project, and come play along at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog for your chance to win a gift voucher to the Dies R Us Store. A new challenge begins on the first and fifteenth of every month.
