Heart Lock Box and Card Combo

Hello crafting friends and welcome back!

I'm so excited to be posting my very first project as a design team member of Simply Crafty SVGs.

It is rather picture heavy, so grab a cuppa and enjoy!

I used the Heart Lock Box SVG and created this box and card combo for hubby for Valentine's Day.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to make all the cuts, but  you can use any electronic cutter that will work with SVG files. These files are so easy to use and the projects so easy to put together!.  But in case you still have doubts, each file comes with an instruction sheet and Sandy has made a number of instruction videos too!

 All the card stock I used is shiny. I embossed the red heart with the Heart Scrolls embossing folder by Crafter's Companion.

I used a small piece of gold satin ribbon to attach the key to the box.

I embossed the decorative ribbon pieces that come with the box. I lined them to the edge of the lid to keep them straight and equal all the way around the box.

I filled the box with Ferrero Roche chocolates, they're hubby's favourites. Mine too, which means he's going to have to share ;-)

I duplicated the heart, lock and key, and resized these cuts to fit my 5.5" x 5.5" card.

I used the same heart embossing folder on the front of the card to tie it all together.  The little hearts are the same as the little heart on the handle of the box. You can duplicate it by using your "release compound feature". Once you have the little heart on it's own, it is easy to duplicate and resize.  Just remember to attach it to your original file again. 

For the inside, I used a phrase from the Silhouette store. To make it a little more special, I added another key and a couple of the little hearts.
