I hope you all had a fun Halloween and a great weekend. I wanted to give you a peak at the July page of my 2014 calendar. Remember that these are 8" x 8" calendars from the Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby) and they will have a 4" x 6" photo adhered to the mat. I had to keep the embellishments simple because I want the photo to be the focal point. This is what I came up with for July - it will have a pic of my son kayaking during our visit to the Bahamas this summer, so I thought that this paper would go well together with the pic. The turtle was cut using Life is a Beach cricut cartridge and I decided to add it to the page because he actually saw a turtle as well as a manta ray while kayaking in the ocean. I stamped a bunch of little fish and some "kelp" to complete the scene. Oh, yes, and I just couldn't forget the sun, lol, also cut from the LIAB cartridge.
I still need to stamp in the days of the week and also place the little stickers for the days of the month, but they are almost all done. It's been fun making these calendars, but I'm ready to start on my Christmas cards and I definitely want to get these finished first.
I just saw that Paper Playtime have a challenge going on at the moment that involves googlie eyes ~ I thought my little turtle will fit in just fine for this challenge.
I'm also going to enter this project at the Exploring Cricut challenge.
