The Paper Shelter #607 ~ Back to the Books!

Hello crafting friends!  We're back after our Summer Break and ready to inspire you with cards for every occasion!

My Summer Break included a month long trip to Algarve to visit family and spend time at the beach.  We visited several of the beaches on the South Coast of Algarve and had a wonderful lunch high up on the mountain of Monchique.  We spend the rest of the time with family, the Portuguese way ... lots of laughter, lots of loud talk, lots of food, desserts and coffee and really had a good time catching up with everyone!  It was a wonderful holiday, that came to an end way too soon! 😁
Our flights were safe but due to delays we missed a couple of connecting flights which was very frustrating, but in the end, it was worth the time it took to get there.  On the way back, we had to run thru the airport at Newark to make our connecting flight to Houston.  Boy, am I unfit!!  I always say that if God wanted me to be a runner, he would have made me Beep Beep, the Road Runner, just like He would have made me a bunny if I'm meant to eat all my greens!

Now, that I've shared a little about my holiday, it's time for me to tell you about our current challenge at The Paper Shelter ...

Team A - our challenge this week is

~ Back to the Books ~
(Back to school, reading, anything related to books)

Using the Learning is Fun digi set, I made this cute back to school card for my lil granddaughter, who is starting 5th grade.

I used the background paper that comes in the set and print and cut it out twice. One piece was used on the front of the card and the other was used on the inside.  I cut out a few school elements from various different files from Silhouette to embellish the card and add a little interest.

Here is a close up of this cutie.  I printed it on photo paper to get a sharp and clear image.  I print and cut her out twice and then pop dotted the two layers together to add a  little dimension to the card.

As I mentioned above, I cut out a second background and used it on the inside of the card. The sentiment is a cut file from Silhouette.  I resized and cut all my elements to fit on this 5.5" square card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Before I leave, I would like to invite you to come play along with us.  Remember that The Paper Shelter has fabulous prizes up for grabs. Check out the details below ...

I do hope you will come join the fun and share your projects with us.
