CCAYR ~ Five Golden Rings

Hello crafting friends and welcome to this month's challenge  at Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.  On our "The 12 days of Christmas" challenges, this month we have Five Golden Rings.

This is May's inspiration pic.
Our challenge this month is to have Five of something or Use Lots of Gold.

I love these lantern dies from Scrappy Tails.  I made this lantern all gold and white and I must admit I love the way it came out.

Each of the four sides has a different scene. Here you can see the Nativity and the shepherds scenes.

And here is the scene of the Wisemen.  On the fourth side, I used the Holy Night sentiment that comes with the die set.

This lantern die comes with a top, but because I'm mailing it overseas, I didn't want to have to use a large envelope, so I left it out.  As you can see it fits perfectly in an A7 envelope.

Another awesome feature about these lanterns, is that you can place one of  those flickering tea light candles on the inside and it shines through beautifully.  In order to soften the glow from tea light candle, I used a piece of vellum paper behind each scene.

The only draw back to this card, and it was because I used all four sides to decorate it, is that I have no space to write my personal message.  So I'm going to make one of those 3" x 3" note cards, write my message on it and place it in the same envelope.  Problem solved! 😀

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Now it's your turn to make a Christmas project that falls within our challenge theme, and come play along with us.  You have till the end of the month to link your project to our blog at  Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

Crafty hugs,
