KS ~ Basket of Strawberry Hearts

Hello friends.  Today I have a card to share with you using a die I purchased during the Valentine release by Kat Scrappiness.

I took the heart dies from the Scoop of Love die set and turned them into a basket of strawberry hearts 😀

So this is how this 6" x 6" card looks when it comes out of the envelope.

Once you remove the belly band and open the card up, out pops a basket filled with chocolate covered strawberry hearts. Yum! 😍
I cut out 6 of the heart sets out of red and chocolate brown cardstock respectively.  This turned out to be dark chocolate which is my favourite.  I added glossy accents to the "chocolate" to add a smooth textured look and it also adds a slight dimension to the strawberry hearts.  The basket pop up die is from Made to Surprise.

This is how this card folds flat in order to fit into a regular 6 1/4" x 6 1/4" envelope.  I love this pop up mechanism.  It allows you to build larger elements as it folds flat in an upward motion.

I decided to make this a tri-fold style card.  Because of all the dimension on the inside, the best way to keep it closed is with a belly band which I made using a set of heart dies and the Love flourish by Poppy Stamps.  I don't have any of the word dies from Kat Scrappiness yet, but stop by the store and you will see loads of beautiful words and greetings, with shadows to match.

The only place I had to write a personal message was at the back, so I used another piece of paper from Divinity Designs Sweethearts collection, and adhered it to the chocolate brown mat at the back.

I will write my message in the empty space between the flourished scrolls.

And so this is another Valentine card made for 2022.  Slow and steady, I'm getting there 😀

Kat Scrappiness has beautiful dies, stamps, and sprinkles for your shaker cards. Stop by and be pleasantly inspired.   I hope you enjoyed my card today.  I have another order on the way, so I will be back with another Valentine card made using Kat Scrappiness dies.
