Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round ~ "P" is for Party! - August

Hello and welcome to our August's challenge at

This month our challenge is to create a project with something beginning with
 the letters  "O"  or  "P".

So here is my "P" for Party!

One of the many things I love about Christmas are the Christmas parties.  From the childrens' parties at school to the office party, Christmas parties are always special!
When we lived in South Africa, the company my husband worked for always had Christmas Balls. What a perfect excuse to go shopping for a ball gown.  And I'm sure that you know what follows, right?  The right shoes and clutch to match. Then the right makeup, hairdo, etc. etc.  And then you get to the actual ball and everything is like magic ...  beautiful reds, greens and golds everywhere sprinkled with thousands of  twinkling lights, and waiters with trays of delicious champagne in crystal flutes ... the epitome of Merry and Bright :-)
It was these fond memories and the gorgeous Little Square Book of Festive Deco Shimmer, from Hunkydory, that led me to make this card. I used gold mirror cardstock to mat the image and adhered it a red base.  On the inside I stamped the sentiment, from Great Impression stamps, and a few hollies to add a little more interest.

Well, dear friends, I hope you have travelled down memory lane with me and that all your happy memories inspire you to make a card to came play along with us.  You have till the end of the month to link your project to our blog at Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round.

I'm playing along at

Till next time,
stay safe and well!

  4. Reading your story about Christmas balls in the past, along with the fantastic party scene on your card, I suddenly got pictures of some Agatha Christie like movie in my head. Such an elegant design!
