Dies R Us #153 ~ One for the Boys!

Hello crafting friends and welcome to a new challenge at Dies R Us.

Challenge # 153 ~ One for the Boys!
(Make a masculine project)

I recently purchased a bunch of dies from Marianne Design during the Special Order Sale event at Dies R Us. In case you missed it, the best way to know about these special order sales is to subscribe to the Dies R Us newsletter. These sales only happen every so often, but when they do, you can purchase some lovely dies from overseas companies such as Marianne Design (one of my favourites😀), Joy! Crafts, Lea'Bilities, and a few others.

My little nephew's birthday is coming up so I thought this challenge was just perfect for me to get his birthday card done. Got to stop calling him my LITTLE nephew, he's going to be 14!!! Time sure does flies!

So using my new dies, I came up with this card, that I hope is cool for a 14 year old boy!

It was pretty easy to assemble.  I cut out the card base, then all the other bits and pieces and then it was just a matter of putting them altogether, and voila, the card was done.

Making this card, also gave me the opportunity to play with my new mini die cutting machine.  What a blessing! I have a Gemini and constantly fight with warped plates. I really do wish they still sold the Cut 'n Boss. Had it for about 3 years and used the same original plates.  Pretty much the same with my Cuttlebug. But the Gemini, although it cuts beautifully, the plates are really a thorn in my side. So I bought a desktop mini CGull.  It only cuts small dies - up to 3" wide, but for these small pieces it's great, and the crank is really light.  So there you have it, just my 2c. 😀

Okay, now that I went completely off track there for a bit, here is the list of supplies I used to make this card, and as always, I've linked each to the  Dies R Us store for your convenience.

Marianne Design - Guitar - Special Order Sale
Marianne Design - Watch - Special Order Sale

Thank you so much for stopping by today and sharing a little bit of your day with me.  I hope I was able to inspire you to create a project, and  play along with us at the Dies R Us Challenges for your chance to win a gift certificate to the Dies R Us Store.  A new challenge begins on the 1st and 15th of each month. Visit our challenge blog, where my team mates showcase their creations to give you a little more inspiration.  Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Pinterest too.

Before I go, I'd like to remind you that Dies R Us' sister store,  Didi Crafts, is now open. It has warehouses located in the USA and Canada.  It has some products that are the same as Dies R Us, but in addition, it carries international dies,  and other crafty supplies for a variety of crafts.  Go take a peek and be pleasantly surprised!

Till next time,
stay safe and healthy!
