Lavinia World #30 ~ Dream High

Hello crafting friends and welcome to challenge #30 at Lavinia World,
where the theme is always Anything Goes!

I had so much fun making the last "under the sea card", that I tried my hand at making another one.  This time in a tall, skinny version.

I started with a piece of teal card stock that was 9" x 8", giving me a card that measures 9" x 4" after you score it down the middle at the 4" mark.

After cutting a piece of white card stock and a piece of the patterned vellum, both measuring 8 7/8" by 3 7/8", I took a variety of stamps and inks and began creating my scene around the majestic Sebastian.  I've listed all the stamps and inks below.

Can you see the two tones I used on Sebastian to make him a little more magical? I first inked him up with Memento Paris Dusk ink and then lightly tapped the stamp with Versafine Clair Warm Breeze ink pad.  It was an experiment that worked out, this thing of using two different types of inks together. 😀

In order to fit the sentiment on the top, I had to mask off the bottom line and ink the top line. Next I pulled off the tape and stamped.  Then I did the same thing but this time masked off the top line, inked and stamped the bottom line. On this picture, you can see that the patterned vellum has sea horses on it.  It's a beautiful pack that I got from Paper Discovery. You can also clearly see the jelly fish which were stamped on the white card stock which sits under the vellum. This gives it a softer look and the impression of distance. I finished the card by stamping the seaweed in various shades of greens, some on the vellum and some on the white card stock underneath. I felt like it needed a bit of colour so I added a few fairy barnacles in a burn orange colour.

I stamped another couple of small sea horses, jelly fish and seaweed on the inside of the card to bring it all together.

This card fits perfectly in a business size envelope as you can see above. I was having so much fun with these stamps that I continued the theme onto the envelope.  I think the postal workers will enjoy it too 😀

As promised, here is the list of the supplies I used to make this card.
I have linked each one to the Lavinia World store for your convenience.

I love how it turned out.  I don't think I'm done playing with "under the sea" cards yet.  I might just be back with another soon.  Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoyed your visit and will make a project to come play along with us.  Although our theme is always Anything Goes, you do have to use physical stamps, either rubber or clear.

 NO DIGI stamps allowed.
