Happy New Year, crafting friends, and welcome to challenge #17 at Lavinia World,
where the theme is always Anything Goes!
where the theme is always Anything Goes!
I've been wanting to try to decorate a candle using stamps, and thought it now to be the perfect time.
So I purchased a full wax candle at Walmart, got out a couple of Lavinia stamps, a few inks and went to work, and this was the result For my first try, I'm quite happy with the result.😀

So I purchased a full wax candle at Walmart, got out a couple of Lavinia stamps, a few inks and went to work. I cut a piece of white tissue paper that was almost as tall as the candle and wide enough to go around the entire candle. Then I stamped the landscape and wrapped it around the candle before using my heat tool. When you gently heat the candle, the wax melts just enough to absorb the tissue paper and this is the result. For my first try, I'm quite happy with the result.😀
I have included photos showing all four sides so you get an idea of how I staggered the different sized trees. I also used the "stamp off" stamping method to create a little dimension on the background. It was fun to make and not too hard. I'm definitely going to give it another try in the near future.
As always, I have a list of the supplies I used, each linked to the
Lavinia World store for your convenience.
VersaFine Clair Ink - Acorn
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed your visit and will make a project to come play along with us. Although our theme is always Anything Goes, you do have to use physical stamps, either rubber or clear.

It looks amazing, no matter how many tries it would have been, Lena! Did you stamp the scenery all on a single piece of tissue paper, and carefully place it on the candle so it fit just perfectly around the circumference of the candle? How LOVELY! Happy New Year, Lena! hugs, de
