Hello crafting friends and welcome to challenge #13 at Lavinia World,
where the theme is always Anything Goes!
where the theme is always Anything Goes!
If you a follower of my blog, then you know that I'm very much a tropical kinda gal who would be quite happy if the only season we had was Summer😀 Now having said this, I do admire the beautiful warm and rich colours of Fall and even the serene beauty of a snowy landscape, just as long as it's a picture and I don't have to be it 😀 While making this card, I can't tell you how many times I thought of hot cocoa with marshmallows, one of my highlights in winter, but living with temps in the high 80's / lower 90's is not really conducive to drinking some right now, so I settled for iced coffee instead 😀 Now that I've shared all this with you, let's take a look at the card I created for this challenge.
Using one of Marianne Design's newest dies, Anja's Folding Circle, I cut out the card base and all it's layers. Then it was time to create my version of a Winter Wonderland which was inspired by the background DP.
I began by cutting out a circle of light blue paper. Next I mirror stamped one of the small Fairy Foragers using Mirror Blocks, and one of the hares from the Whimsical Hares set. After creating a mask for the hare, I stamped Fir Tree 1 several times using Memento London Fog ink. All that was left was to adhere a bit of Soft Snow to make the snowy bank. Taking a white Signo pen, I drew in a few snow flakes.
On the inside of the card, I cut a circle from the same blue paper. I stamped a few snowflakes from the Snowflakes set and the greeting using Fairy Merry Christmas stamp. The snowflakes were stamped using Memento Summer Sky ink while the greeting was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
I must admit that I like the way this card came out. Only one die and a few stamps and inks and voila, a winter wonderland 😀
Here is a quick recap of the materials I used, each linked to the Lavinia World store for your convenience.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed your visit and will make a project to come play along with us. Although our theme is always Anything Goes, you do have to use physical stamps, either rubber or clear.
NO DIGI stamps allowed.

ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! xoxo
ReplyDeleteMy die (folding circle) came in but I did everything I could and it won't cut....how and on what machine did you die cut....I used Big Kick and Big Blue (electronic)....I even tried the packaging foam that cuts intricate...can you help??? hugs Lil
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you're having such problems with your die. It's so frustrating when that happens. I use a Gemini and it cut beautifully. I use the thickest sandwich the machine will allow and had no problems. If you read through the posts on FB on the Marianne Designs group, there are several posts about problems cutting with this die. The main suggestion that many people have found works it using a dryer sheet between the die and the card stock. Hope this helps.
DeleteA gorgeous card and the folding circle die is so pretty. Thank you for joining in at As You Like It. Lynne DT
