Happy 100th Birthday!!

Hello crafting friends. I'm on the Dies R Us Inspiration blog, today, sharing a masculine birthday card for a 100th Birthday!  I made this card to send to my hubby's uncle who celebrated his 100th birthday during the weekend.  

I used a bunch of dies to make this card, but it was all pretty straight forward. Place dies in die cutting machine and feed it through 😀  All with the exception of the Twist Panel Pop Up from Karen Burniston, but she has such an awesome tutorial video that there is nothing to fear in making this card.

I started this card last week by stitching the pattern onto a piece of linen card stock.  Next I made the twist panel mechanism by following Karen's video. Once that was done, I got out a few more dies to decorate the card.  I began by using decorative corner dies for the front.  Now the dies that I used are from Di-namics and no longer available, but it was what I had on hand.  However, if you search "decorative corner dies" on the Dies R Us home page, you will find loads of them that will work just as well.  I personally love the die sets from Sue Wilson. Most of them include a small decorative corner die.

I cut out the champagne bottle, champagne glasses and the 100 numbers out of dies all by Marianne Design.

For the idea that the champagne glasses actually have champagne in them, I cut the glasses out of vellum and out of gold shimmer paper.  Then I cut out the glass part only, from the gold shimmer paper, and adhered it to the back of the vellum.  In order to get a smooth adherence I used the small Xyron machine. This left a uniform sticky layer on the glasses and made them very easy to put together.  Then I went over the glasses and the champagne bottle with a Wink of Stella clear pen.  All that was left was to cut out some balloons.  Not only were these balloons the perfect size, they also come in fun shapes.  They're from the Explosion Pop Up die set also by Karen Burniston.  All that was left was to "sprinkle" the card with miniature gold stars which came from the same sticker sheet as the sentiment.
