Hello everyone. How fun would it be to have your birthday on Christmas Day? Well, this is a question that is always met with mixed feelings. Some feel that it would be absolutely a joyous occasion to share your birthday with Jesus, while others feel that they would miss out on celebrating their birthday because the main focus at this time of the year is Christmas. I can see both arguments have merit - for me it would be wonderful to share a birthday with Jesus, but I must admit I like my March birthday. It's a little celebration at a different time of year so you don't go so long without celebrating. Having said this though, my birthday often falls during the Easter weekend! In fact, I was born on Good Friday :-)
Well, that's enough about me! Now onto our challenge for this week, hosted by the Crafty Belles.
Challenge # 151~ Anything Goes
Our wonderful sponsor this week is:
Prize: $15 Gift Certificate
Here is the card I made for my friend, using the gorgeous pre-coloured image called Christmas Candles from Sparkle 'n Sprinkle.
I used Cricut Design Space to print the image on glossy photo paper, and then to cut it. I printed the image twice and fussy cut the rose of the second image. I adhered foam dots to it for dimension.
This is a 5.5" x 5.5" card from Recollections.
Red cardtock is from GinaK.
On the inside I computer printed the sentiment which translates to:
Happy Birthday
Merry Christmas
and
Happy New Year!
I added a little holly with berries stamp and coloured it with copic markers, to give it a little extra interest on the inside.
Thank you for stopping by today. Now it's your turn to make a project, and link it to our challenge #151 for your chance to win our wonderful sponsored prize. You have till noon, CST, on Tuesday, 5 December 2017, to link your project to the Crafty Gals Corner blog. And while you there, take a look at what my DT teamies made for your inspiration this week.
Till next time,
Happy Crafting!
This is absolutely stunning, Lena!! The stitching is amazing!! I love the beautiful image!! My birthday is just a few days before Christmas and I hated it when I was young. It got lost among the Christmas celebrations and friends would give me one card and gift that said "Happy Birthday / Merry Christmas". My parents were very good about separating the two, though and now as I'm older, I love having it so close to the birth of Jesus :) Have a great day!! Big hugs :)

Incredible! Again! Your cards are seriously stunning, Lena! xoxo
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card my friend!! My sisters birthday is on the 30th of Dec. and our friends sort of forget about it.She is always a little sad about that. So I always stop by with flowers, gift and ice cream cake because it is a way I can let her know that her birth day is as special as the New Year.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day my friend,
