I guess I missed the whole Christmas in July furore guys, because it's mid September and this is my first card for this Christmas season. It is also the first card I have managed to make using my Cricut Imagine. This machine has been a thorn in my side since the day I got it which was almost 2 years ago. I love my Cricut Expression and my Cricut Cake, but the Imagine is the one thing in my craft room that I regret buying. But being determined (my mom calls it stubborn lol) I've decided that I'm going to make it work for its worth :) Besides, my daughter, being loads more computer savvy than me, has spent so many hours on the phone with Cricut Support that I won't allow that time to go to waste :-)
So here is Santa in his sleigh. I print and cut all the different layers at 3" and attached them to each other using the SU! foam dimentionals. The Merry Christmas is a memory box die and as you can see, it cuts beautifully. I love it's effect and will definitely be using it on other cards. Although you can't see it from this pic, Santa's fur on his sleeves and hat are very sparkly. I did that with my Sakura Clear Star pen.
For the inside I cut an extra Santa face and used the same red cardstock. The sentiment is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The stamp is called Christmas Peace and is from the Paper Inspirations company.
So, one Christmas card done and a gazillion still to go. No problem! Perfect excuse to spend more time in my crafting corner :-)
As always, your comments mean a lot to me, so thank you for taking the time to leave me some bloggie love.
Till tomorrow,
God Bless
Lena

Wow, this is gorgeous! Love your die and the Santa. I had so many issues with my Cricut Imagine that I sold it. Glad to see you're making it work.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Lena, I like the adorable Santa image.

ReplyDeleteAnd you did a great job. It looks very professional. Yes it is difficult to get the sparkly show on the phote. I have the same problem.
I looked at the blog of the one you are going to support. Looks very nice!!
And it will be even nicer when your cards are on it too!!!!!

ReplyDeleteLove that Christmas card. I may need to go find that sentiment stamp. It's really fantastic.
Look forward to getting to know you!

I can't believe how this summer has just flown by! This card is cute! Santa is raring to go! I love the sentiment inside. Great job! I recently purchased an Anna Griffith card making kit from HSN (and two other things!) and I can't wait to play!
