Here is a quick look at how I store my embossing folders. I got this idea and .cut file from Okieladybug. I bought my box at Walmart and as you can see the folders fit perfectly. I emboss one side of the folder so that I can immediately see the effect when I'm looking for a specific pattern. It's easy, contained and clutter free, just the way I like it :-)
I love this way of storing your EB folders. I may have to give it a try. I found your blog on the Cricut site and have been browsing.
ReplyDeletewow, this is a fabulous idea! thanks for sharing this and I must give it a try soon!
ReplyDeleteThis is PERFECT!! Great job! :D
ReplyDeleteMy cat heard your virtual kitty purring and meowing and she went crazy! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThis is really nice, where did you buy the folders, please.
ReplyDeleteThank you all so much for your sweet comments. I really do appreciate each and every one of them.
DeleteReketa, I made the folders myself. I used a cricut .cut file and cut them out of regular cardstock. Then I embossed each one so that I can clearly see the effect.
Hope this helps. If you have a cricut and need the .cut file, I can email it to you. Just email me and put something about the embossing folders storage files on the subject like please.
Hugs,
Lena

ReplyDeleteLena this embossing file folder is great is it on a cricut cardridge?
ReplyDeleteI love this idea. is there a cricut cardridge if so which one.
ReplyDeleteHi Ladydidee - if you look on the post above, and click on Okieladybug link, it will take you to the lady that sent me the .cut file for the cricut. I used the one that uses the George and Basic Shapes cartridge but I believe she has a .cut file for the Plantin Schoolbook too. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteLove it. Love it Love it.
ReplyDeleteThat definitely is a much better way of storing the folders than mine. I'm going to do this.
ReplyDeletefabulous idea.. so glad I saw this on Pinterest.
ReplyDeleteHi. I just saw your fantastic idea for the embossing folders on Facebook. What a great idea. I have them in the embossing folder zip storage but it is not easy working with it. I am going to try this and I know it will be so much easier. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi. What a fantastic idea. I have a Big Shot machine. Can you tell me how I would make the file folders? Or where I could purchase them? I just 'found' you on Facebook! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHi Faith. Thank you for visiting my blog. The folders I used for the storage of my cuttlebug folders were designed on the Cricut Design Studio. Do you have that program? If so, please email me and I will send you the .cut file for the folders.
ReplyDeleteHope to hear from you soon.
Hugs,
Lena
Love the organization! If you still have the directions and the .cut file, may I ask you to please email it to me. Thank you! slgrant57@gmail.com
DeleteOh I love this idea, thans for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for storing your templates. I have seen several ideas, but this is the best! Thank you very much.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea - I'm forever trying to find just the right folder - no more - you've fixed that problem for me - I've got an empty container just waiting for my embossing folders. Looks pretty too. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteDo you know what quart size this container is and will the 5x7 folders fit in it? I was going to order online. I have smaller ones I keep my ctmh stampsets in . Thank you.
ReplyDeleteDid you make your own folders? Or where did you buy them? I REALLY need those!!!!
ReplyDeleteI was also wondering what size this container was, I looked at Walmart and was not sure which one to get.
ReplyDeleteGreat organization!
ReplyDelete~ Vanessa
Great organization!

Thank you so much for this great idea! I just saw it yesterday and last night I already made the folders and just have to emboss and label them. My problem is that I don't know the name of most of my folders since I don't have the original packaging. Did you just call them what seems sensible to you?
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie. Thank you for visiting my blog. I often get asked what embossing folder I use on one of my projects, so I try to keep the correct names with the correct folders. I was missing some at the beginning, but most folders have the manufacturer's name on them, for example, Darice, Cuttlebug, Sizzix, etc. so I googled the pics till I found the name :-) If you're not likely to share that information, then I think that naming them what makes sense to you is totally acceptable :-)
DeleteHugs,
Lena
Hi ladies. For some reason I haven't been getting notifications on these posts, so unless you have contacted me directly by email, I have not been answering your questions and for that I apologise. I think the unanswered question at this point is about the size of the storage container I use. It is a Sterilite 5.5 quart container that I purchased at Walmart. From what I understand, they now come in a set of six and only with lime green latches. Mine are blue and were purchased individually at the time. Here is a link for your convenience:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.walmart.com/search/?query=Sterilite%205.4%20Quart%20Modular%20Latch%20Box-%20Bamboo%20Grass%2C%20Set%20of%206
If you have any more questions, please email me directly at lenfon@msn.com and please put something like "Storage Boxes" in the subject line. I will do my best to reply shortly after I receive your email.
Hugs,
Lena
Hi! Love the folder idea. Can you send me the .cutfile info. so I can make them. LOVE THE IDEA IN MY ORGANIZED SELF!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! I have a cricut and could do this very same thing!! I'm in the process of organizing my "stuff" so this would be a great way to store mine!! I do not know anything about using cutfiles with my cricut. Would you mind sharing your file and explain to me how to use it?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
I have also been browsing your blog. Love it!!
Debbie Britland
Please send me the info on .cutfile info so I can organuze my embossing folders which now numver 300. Chari
ReplyDeleteI did something similar. I made a "card front" size embossed cardstock and put them all in photo pages that hold 4 each. I wrote the name of the folder on the cardstock before I embossed it. I also wrote the name of the folder on the folder with a Sharpie. I keep the pages in a notebook, and the folders in a perfect sized container standing upright in alphabetical order. The pages in the notebook have the cardstock samples grouped. All the borders are together, all the frames together, all the holidays together, all the floral together, etc. I flip through the notebook to find what I want, then go to the actual folders in the flip file. Easy, and I don't have to flip through them all to find what I want.
ReplyDeleteLove it Purple Unicorn. Your idea is fabulous. I'll look for the photo pages size inserts for a notebook and have at this one your way. I dont' have a cricut.

ReplyDeleteThank you! Great organizational idea. I especially like that you can access the design of each embossing folder on the front of the file. Do you need a Cricut to be able to do this? (I have a Big Shot.)
I would love to make these folders - what an awesome idea! But alas, I have a cricut, but not one that connects to the internet to do this type of cutting. Are there any other ways to make the folders? Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi Berdie. If you send me an email to lenfon @ msn (dot) com, I will send you the SVG file that you can use on any electronic cutting machine. You can also cut them out by hand, if you don't have a machine. Happy New Year! Lena
