Storage Share - Embossing Folders

Here is a quick look at how I store my embossing folders. I got this idea and .cut file from Okieladybug. I bought my box at Walmart and as you can see the folders fit perfectly. I emboss one side of the folder so that I can immediately see the effect when I'm looking for a specific pattern. It's easy, contained and clutter free, just the way I like it :-)

    1. Thank you all so much for your sweet comments. I really do appreciate each and every one of them.
Reketa, I made the folders myself. I used a cricut .cut file and cut them out of regular cardstock. Then I embossed each one so that I can clearly see the effect.
Hope this helps. If you have a cricut and need the .cut file, I can email it to you. Just email me and put something about the embossing folders storage files on the subject like please.
      Hugs,
      Lena

  9. Hi Ladydidee - if you look on the post above, and click on Okieladybug link, it will take you to the lady that sent me the .cut file for the cricut. I used the one that uses the George and Basic Shapes cartridge but I believe she has a .cut file for the Plantin Schoolbook too. Good luck!

  18. Love this idea - I'm forever trying to find just the right folder - no more - you've fixed that problem for me - I've got an empty container just waiting for my embossing folders. Looks pretty too. Thanks for sharing.

  19. Do you know what quart size this container is and will the 5x7 folders fit in it? I was going to order online. I have smaller ones I keep my ctmh stampsets in . Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Did you make your own folders? Or where did you buy them? I REALLY need those!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I was also wondering what size this container was, I looked at Walmart and was not sure which one to get.

  22. Thank you so much for this great idea! I just saw it yesterday and last night I already made the folders and just have to emboss and label them. My problem is that I don't know the name of most of my folders since I don't have the original packaging. Did you just call them what seems sensible to you?

    1. Hi Debbie. Thank you for visiting my blog. I often get asked what embossing folder I use on one of my projects, so I try to keep the correct names with the correct folders. I was missing some at the beginning, but most folders have the manufacturer's name on them, for example, Darice, Cuttlebug, Sizzix, etc. so I googled the pics till I found the name :-) If you're not likely to share that information, then I think that naming them what makes sense to you is totally acceptable :-)

  23. Hi ladies. For some reason I haven't been getting notifications on these posts, so unless you have contacted me directly by email, I have not been answering your questions and for that I apologise. I think the unanswered question at this point is about the size of the storage container I use. It is a Sterilite 5.5 quart container that I purchased at Walmart. From what I understand, they now come in a set of six and only with lime green latches. Mine are blue and were purchased individually at the time. Here is a link for your convenience:
    http://www.walmart.com/search/?query=Sterilite%205.4%20Quart%20Modular%20Latch%20Box-%20Bamboo%20Grass%2C%20Set%20of%206
If you have any more questions, please email me directly at lenfon@msn.com and please put something like "Storage Boxes" in the subject line. I will do my best to reply shortly after I receive your email.
    Hugs,
    Lena

  27. I did something similar. I made a "card front" size embossed cardstock and put them all in photo pages that hold 4 each. I wrote the name of the folder on the cardstock before I embossed it. I also wrote the name of the folder on the folder with a Sharpie. I keep the pages in a notebook, and the folders in a perfect sized container standing upright in alphabetical order. The pages in the notebook have the cardstock samples grouped. All the borders are together, all the frames together, all the holidays together, all the floral together, etc. I flip through the notebook to find what I want, then go to the actual folders in the flip file. Easy, and I don't have to flip through them all to find what I want.
